  1. Because we played crap and a wonder strike aside we could have been out of Europe. Do you think the players we had on the pitch collectively played well?
  2. I like a showman Bill, especially when he has made himself out of nothing and now he is making the type of money that will have his family set up for generations.
  3. When I have seen Walsh I thought he has looked really good as well.
  4. Yeh but you arent putting 6-8 players back into the starting 11. The players we had out there were more than good enough to put in a performance. There is nothing I have seen to suggest that having any of those players back into the starting 11 that would improve us dramatically. The possible one is Barkley who can make the difference but I doubt we will see him play for us again.
  5. That makes things very interesting at Utd. They won't play both together and assuming Ibra is as good as he was last year, I would expect him to start big games ahead of Rom.
  6. Mayweather isn't going to set the tempo though, McGregor is. It will be a case of whether McGregor fucks himself over by trying to land too many too soon. Regardless of whether it's boxing or mma, McGregor and his camp know exactly what they are doing with his fitness and I have no doubt they can go 12 rounds at Mayweather's pace. If he goes all guns blazing for the first 4 then like any boxer, he will be snagged at the end. I hope McGregor wins but I expect Mayweather to wear him down late. (7-12)
  7. They tend to play better against big clubs so far them it might be too easy!
  8. Would they though? Coleman yes, Gueye yes and maybe one of theach last 4 you mentioned but it's hardly too depleted.
  9. Across the game I thought he was shit but there were times I thought he defended better than I had seen before and then attacked far worse than I expected of him. The bottom line is he just isn't very good.
  10. Completely agree NYBLUE. If you don't like what someone says you can block them, it's the Internet ffs. I don't see the point of seeking out an internet forum to give their view on a football game abd then being unhappy about someone challenging it. If you are that fragile then you need to suck it up and believe in yourself and your own judgment as otherwise noone else will. If someone challenges you and you think that they have a point, even better, because it shows that you understand people's arguments. Or if you think the person challenging you is full of shit either let them know or allow them to go on their merry deluded way. You don't become a more rounded person by shying away in the corner too scared about what people think of you and your opinions.
  11. That ball moved half the goal, I don't care how tall he was he wouldn't have got to that!
  12. I thought that looked an easy group myself. Lyon more difficult but they haven't been anything special for a while.
  13. He just doesn't look up to this level at the moment, definitely needs a loan.
  14. He just seemed to get on the ball a bit more, and got in behind when he probably should have done better with the final ball. He didnt stand out in the second half but he was pretty poor in the first so it didnt take much for him to improve!
  15. Well that was painful... Pickford had a couple of wobbles but made some big saves when needed, Baines was his usual solid self (im surprised he isnt back in the England fold), and I actually thought Schneiderlin and Besic played quite well together. DCL worked hard but was played out of position yet again and Rooney did quite well too. On the other end of the scale Cuco was crap, Keane had his worst game for us, Williams was ok but gave a silly foul away and a silly pen. Lookman was garbage (I still dont see it), Lennon wasnt much better. Siggy was a weird one because he didnt do much but score a wonder goal but the majority of what he did was tidy. He should have done a bit better with a potential assist for DCL and he had a relatively easy chance in the first half he didnt get on target. He works his nuts off and I am hoping to see more from his overall game as he gets sharper.
  16. Great goal, very quiet first half but better in the second.
  17. Pickford for me, one class save in the first half and a pen save in the second. Baines was solid as usual and Schneiderlin ran the game from midfield.
  18. I wouldn't get too carried away by the 'they need time to gel' comments. He did it at Soton in his first season and he did it at Ajax, it's the reason Soton got him in.
  19. What Leicester did was purely a defensive masterclass and excellent organisation. Football can be a simple game but when you start playing strikers at wing back it gets complicated. I must have missed the game where we played only attack... If 10 men of City were too strong for us, despite playing averagely we have a big problem! No-one says we are Barcelona or anything remotely like it. We really went down fighting last year at Anfield too... I suppose 3-1 is marginally better than 4-0? We didnt show up for the second half at home either and got what we deserved for trying to hang on. The City game wasn't awful but it wasn't good either. We can do better than that with the squad we have.
  20. This is exactly him in a nut shell and its what Koeman bought him for and wants him to do, and at the moment, he is doing it very well. He isnt the cleverest attacking footballer and he does get caught wrong side (mainly because he was breaking forward and is trying to track back) but if thats why people dont rate him then they should be more pissed off with Koeman not Gana.
  21. Yep he does, but he has played about 7 or 8 games now so he isnt going to be far off.
  22. I think it is more to do with tactics than it is players tbh. Obviously having very good players helps but as you saw with Leicester a couple of years ago and even against Arsenal the other week, its not the be all and end all. You can play defensive but create good chances and enough of them. Its not even just the City game, each week we have barely knocked the door down and I don't expect that to change on Thursday. Defensively we are certainly a lot more like a top 4 side, but offensively we are miles off. Its still early in the season so hopefully that will change as the season develops.
  23. I thought it was legitimate contact, and it would have been difficult to avoid which was just made a meal of by the swan dive afterwards. Id book players for doing that if I could.

    Jokes thread

These two are my favourite. I wonder whether the latter has ever been thought of before? Such a clever joke but its been there for thousands of years with it never being mentioned before.
