  1. Good pressing... Williams Completely donew by Kane and then fouls him. Definite booking... idiot!
  2. Spurs playing 3 at the back... slightly surprised but a positive for us, especially as one is a new boy.
  3. I think the danger is we get pinned back and can't get out and then offer no threat on the counter. If we do get pinned back then Keane is going to have a mare having to cover for Cuco.
  4. On paper that's a decent side. Not sure how it will work up front.
  5. Just seen another interesting challenge. City whip a ball in from the left, along the floor. Mignolet slides out and claims the ball at roughly head height (but laying on the floor). Otamendi slides in along the ground. Right foot outstretched with studs up, left knee bent behind him. Mignolet gets their first, Otamendi misses with his right foot but gets him with his left knee. Sliding and under no control. It's a fairly common scenario in a game of football but why is that any different to the high foot. Far more out of control, far more dangerous and potentially the keeper is far more exposed yet noone batters an eyelid. The only difference is in one challenge the ball is in the air and the other is on the floor.
  6. I can see why he was sent off but Mane is only ever going to go with his foot. Studs aren't up and he is only trying to play the ball. As a keeper he knows what he is about to take and he does really well. Liverpool were ripping City to shreds at times. There isn't much between the squads but they were better than City whereas we bent down and asked for a good Rodgering against 10 men. Just lucky they were as wasteful then as Liverpool were in that first half.
  7. I'm not sure I would be overly confident about either playing any meaningful part of the season. Usually when you come back from a long term injury you pick up other smaller injuries and it takes longer to find form.
  8. The problem with Howe is that his teams are as leaky as Martinez was. They can play some decent stuff and create plenty of good chances but they will lose by 3 or 4 at few times. I like teams that play with a high press and with pace. I don't mind if they have to slow things down, but as long as they can quicken it up with one pass then that's fine with me.
  9. No its not (depending on what @Holystove says) because as far as I am aware it's the same across Europe. You only have to look at Fifa to see what powerful people voting to make other powerful people more powerful leads to.
  10. Who voted for the EPP? (Genuine question)
  11. Yeh I get that but if you give some level of sovereignty to a higher power then it dilutes the effect of the original voting choice. Yes the person I elect might also democratically vote for someone in Europe but it doesn't mean that person is elected by the people. Unless the PM candidates said if you vote for me then I will vote for x in Europe.
  12. The issue I take with this is that we don't know who our PM (or the UK representative) will vote for when we vote for them. It's not the will of the people it's the will of politicians. If the people of Europe were able to elect the individuals in and out themselves it would be much more representative of Europeans. Anything that leads to powerful people picking another powerful person is unlikely to result in a good democratic decision.
  13. Not sure why he was giving the ref the finger either... dick Without Rashford that would have been a boring game!
  14. I think a lot of people are becoming more apathetic towards it. They need to stop trying to get one up on each other in the press and just get on with it.
  15. This type of game should bring out the best in England... if there is a best!
  16. Yep same here on both counts. Good job gents!
  17. I'd be intrigued to see a DCL, Barkley, Vlasic front 3. I'd maybe even consider Niasse on the bench. He is a nuisance and if you needed a goal he might just pop up somewhere. Thats as far as he would get though!
  18. Again I don't get this shit on the club mentality, because if Barkley wasn't good enough and they wanted rid, they would be the first to push him out of the door. Like I said before, how can people be happy with the Niasse situation and then have a pop at Barkley. Footballers earn the right to do exactly what they like because they sign a contract for x amount of years for x amount for money. It's a short but very lucrative career and they get to decide their future. If we were broke, like we were back in the Rooney days, then yeh you could argue that Ross could have thought about trying to help his local club out, but if it were that situation then the club would probably be trying to force him out the door anyway. We don't need the money, what we actually need is someone of Ross' ability on the pitch to help us win points. If he stays until next summer and gives his all then that's great, and I will wish him all the best. Going back to Moshiri, the guy clearly likes bending the truth. He did it last summer and he has done it this summer. They aren't massive lies, it's almost silly 'my dad is bigger than your dad' mentality.
  19. Against 10 men and they missed a penalty! Bastards!
  20. Just need a Southend goal! All the other results won't be turned over (barring a miracle).
