  1. I'm not sure he is an AM. I prefer him deeper at the moment as he gets about the pitch and gets stuck in. He doesn't seem to be a passer, he just has good movement. When he has played well it's his movement and work rate that has got him into good positions.
  2. In fairness, Fletcher would have done a better job than Schneiderlin at the weekend.
  3. And how many did we win away last season? All I know is that our performances against City/Chelsea/Spurs this season have been as bad as I can remember. No threat, absolutely battered in each game and it has nothing to do with the squad gelling, getting used to his system etc. It is exactly what it is, the wrong type of players in the wrong tactical set up. I don't think Liverpool have a great squad but they tore City apart in the first half. We are light years from that. Things must improve and improve quickly!
  4. Really? So if a player jumps two footed into a challenge at knee height but misses it changes the punishment compared to if he did connect? In the Ritchie incident I think he did catch him but only very slight contact.
  5. So if the challenge is against Shaqiri the punishment is different to it beingo against Crouch? What if the perpetrator doesn't know if he is challenging Shaqiri or Crouch? I probably didn't elaborate properly to start with. Yes Mane did have his studs up but my argument is that there wasn't much he could do about it physically. I've agreed it's dangerous, and that that's why he was sent off. I'm just highlighting how complicated it is. People were raging on social media about how dangerous it is but as you can see from some responses and reactions on here, on TV and by the refs, almost an identical situation has received a different response regardless of the challenge being equally reckless. I've still not had a response from one of the 'off' men as to whether both players with their foot high is a sending off.
  6. Literally just happened again in the Swansea game. Ritchie only got booked. Probably the worst of the 3!
  7. I'm arguing the opposite. To the sky is easy, pointing the toe down is difficult, hence why it looks like he is going 'studs up' when in reality he can do much more to keep them down. Interestingly where do you stand if both players went with their boot, not knowing if the other was going with their head?
  8. So a ball that's 4ft in the air is OK, but one that's 5ft ish isn't? Is that challenge any less dangerous? What about if both players go with their feet? Is it still dangerous play as one of them could have tried heading the ball? Ps I'm only playing devil's advocate.
  9. He seems to look a quality player everywhere but the first team.
  10. But what if he doesn't know the keeper is going with his head? Does that make a difference? Would they both be sent off if they both went with their foot? FFS you lot are awkward! ? It's almost impossible for his toes to be any further 'down' unless he is a ballerina behind the scenes.
  11. ? Are they still playing with aggression ano pressing high up the pitch like they did last season?
  12. Try it, it's about 45 difference angle. Its actually easier to point the toes up than down. The point I am trying to make is that because of the angle of his foot he hasn't gone in to do him, he has gone to win the ball. It's exactly the same as my other post which wasn't even given as a free kick.
  13. Does it matter... one player is going to head the ball, the other has his foot raise trying to get a toe on the ball. If it helps, the ball has been whipped in from the right, first guy misses the header and it also bypasses the two mentioned above.
  14. Sending off or not a sending off?https://twitter.com/BeggersBailey/status/906867626156142592
  15. Don't you just hate it when that happens ?
  16. Don't know much about Favre but Tuchel would be an interesting one. He is the right type of manager to progress a Premier league club than doesn't already have a similar manager.
  17. It's on TV as well Shukes, he looked just as shite then. Waltzing around, just no engagement from him. If you just watched him in isolation on TV you might think different, but when you look at the gaps he leaves, his lack of commitment to the tackle, his general attitude to defending he shouldn't be anywhere near the side. Niasse is a better striker than Martina is a right back... well it's at least very close!
  18. Can anyone else remember a manager making so many changes at half time in their career?
  19. Yeh I hope so too, it might even be that he is under more physical pressure than he is used to. He looks like he can be a real handful but it just isn't translating through 90 mins
  20. In that case I'm off to find J-Lo's twin. Hopefully she is 20 years younger (if that's poasible) ; )
  21. Exactly, it makes no sense! Remember when everyone was jizzing over his training vids, he looked technically superb and even in games 90% of what he does is technically very good but then one of his first touches will go 20 yards ahead of him!
  22. If for instance we brought in Giroud, which by all accounts was target number 1 then how much would change if we can't get good ball or support to him. Donto forget this happened last year with Rom too it's not a brand new phenomenon. As I said last year, you can't expect anyone on their own up front to be able to hold off 2 or 3 defenders and then bring the ball down, hold it up and play others in when the team as a whole are sat deep absorbing pressure because all that happens is that you bypass the midfield and they get caught in transition. If we want to play like Spurs and their attacking midfielders we need to dominate possession and we need to condense the pitch and press much higher. Unless we do that, nothing will change against the teams we can't naturally dominate. Striker or no striker.
  23. He has dropped off a cliff this year. Maybe something to do with coming back from the summer looking like a hippo? Heads not in the game anymore.
