  1. He wouldn't fit into Koeman's plans. Too slow and immobile. He would just be starting to break forward as the other side had won the ball back and were attacking.
  2. Very true, you would need a big squad to cope.
  3. I watched a lot of build up and there were shocking lies from both sides. Most politicians really aren't fit for purpose and that is why I didn't vote because how can you trust what they say? Personally if you did believe that slogan you were an idiot. Mind you I don't know a leave voter that used that as a reason for voting leave. Furthermore did they say it would definitely go to the NHS or is it a suggestion that it could, because if it's the latter then theoretically it can still come true. The one thing I am most glad of is that the bullshitters like Boris, Farage and Gove to some extent have nothing to do with it. Again how could anyone believe what they say could come true when they have no actual power of governance over the country? I have no doubt that long term, leaving the EU will be a benefit to the UK although I expect the short term to be a hard. The EU drastically needs to reform and strip back down to what it started as and not the United States of Europe it is trying to become. In the long term though, stay or go, it's up to the people of the UK to make a success of the country. Change breeds opportunity, some people will struggle, some people will thrive. The ones that sit and whinge blaming others for their problems will be the ones that struggle whereas those, who may not agree, but adapt and look forward instead or back will be the ones that thrive.
  4. I agree, when Ross plays well we play well.
  5. No they wouldn't. They were shining lights in a terrible team (individual talent as opposed to the collective team talent). Arteta would be borderline but Pienaar wouldn't fit in at all.
  6. Both look ropey too. Pep has got a lot of hard work with City. They are a joke at the back. He has a superb starting 11 which playing his way would probably beat any team but you get injuries, bans etc and it leaves big holes. If Arsenal were as good as they promise they would be 2 or 3 up by now.
  7. I think a game changer is someone who can create something out of nothing and win games with a single piece of skill. I know what you mean with Gana because he keeps us in games we might not be had he not be playing. Technically he is only doing what he should be doing, just at a very high level!
  8. Would Troy Deeney have scored the goals that Rom did against Chelsea last season or City this? They werent just because he can only run and finish. Deeney 's passing and touch at times against us was just as shocking as Roms can be and he at least had another lad up front doing an equal share of the donkey work. If Deeney was any good he would have scored 2 or 3 himself but I'm not even sure he had a shot on target? Deeney probably understands the league better than Rom, and he understands that he has to work harder because and make the most of the more limited ability he has. That is the key difference because hard work gets you further than natural ability should and whilst Deeney has learnt that throughout his career, Lukaku hasn't had to. Lukaku adds far more to the team than Deeney, he scores more, he creates more, he does things Deeney can only dream of but he doesn't have that grit that Deeney has to run that extra 5% etc. Deeney might therefore help his team mates out more than Lukaku but no matter how much you want to dismiss it, goals scored and chances created are king.
  9. That was when we didn't have a pot to piss in. The guys we bought then wouldn't improve this current side and thats the difference. I don't doubt that there will be players out there but I haven't see anything from Depay over here that suggests he is any better than what we have. Players that don't adapt always suggest that there is a problem between the ears. We need fighters not more snowflakes.
  10. Yeh I am a big fan too. He was brilliant as the head coach of Chile. The players just looked like they loved playing the game.
  11. Apparently Mohsiri has paid off the debt by making it an interest free £80mil loan payable to himself. Technically we still owe the money as a club but at least we aren't paying interest on it!
  12. Is there any evidence of our debt being wiped off or will that be in next year's accounts?
  13. He is always at his best when we are on the front foot so it's probably not a surprise that he hasn't been as good as we expect him to be. The Arsenal game showed he still has it in him though!
  14. Yeh he pressed higher up the pitch defensively to try and stop them getting an easy pass through. Bit like a 424. In attack he was supposed to support Lukaku as a runner rather than a creative passers but it didn't work.
  15. The funny thing is, I don't think anyone on here is Roms biggest fan, I think they recognise he has good points and bad points and that like most players you have to take the rough with the smooth. The reason Haf gets such a response is because of his arguments. One rule for one and then another rule for a different player. He fails to take context into account in with some stats and then uses it to his advantage in others (which would make you a good lawyer!). My personal opinion is that we are a better team with Lukaku in it. Simple as that.
  16. That would be a great bit of business. If we want to play like we did yesterday then we need to move Barry to the fringes and with Gana going to AFCON we need another quality player. Don't really want Depay, I don't think he has the stones for the rough and tumble of the PL.
  17. To be fair, 9 times out of 10 we would have conceded. 2 chances in the 18 yard box with the keeper nowhere. We got lucky whereas last year Baines clearance would have probably hit Funes Mori on the arse and back into the net! Not that I am complaining mind you!
  18. Stop being realistic! Just let us believe that we are back to the good ole days for a few more hours at least!
  19. He mainly played wide last night, maybe more as an insider forward than a winger but he still played as the wider man of a 433. Valencia isn't a natural striker, he doesn't have the instinct of a striker but he isn't a winger either so I'm not really sure what his natural role is. I personally wasn't as in love with his performance as some were on here but he ran his socks off for the team and showed the complete opposite to Bolasie in respect of keeping hold of the ball and getting us up the pitch (as in Bolasie gives it away more often than not). Long may it continue.
  20. Thought he almost cost us a goal at the end there. Clawing balls into the box instead of punching them clear.
  21. Rom did do it on several occasions, not anywhere near as many times as Costa would have but to say he didn't do it was a lie. Le Saux wouldn't have said it if it hadn't been a hot topic recently. He even tracked back when he was playing wider.
  22. McCarthy for me. We have lacked bite and he gave that to us. Several others a very close second.
  23. Doesn't have the legs for it. He will be fine when the game is compact like it was against Spurs but when we want to go end to end he will get caught in no man's land in attack and defence.
