Anyone who followed Neville and Cahill back in their playing days here would know it was banter between the two, who've had a long history of doing so.
The fact that there was mild outrage among some just shows how thin skinned some are. Twitter really gives a voice to people who don't need to be heard or don't have anything valid to say.

He’s not as bad as you make out. Easily capable of 10 goals a season, coming on from the bench
Undoubtedly can be a menace and score some goals, but completely ruins any fluidity in the team around him. Terrible touch, can't pass or link up with other attackers, and can't really hold up the ball.

Very pleased for the guy. There’s a certain justice in his being part of Everton’s plans long after Koeman was told to leave.
An a certain injustice in such a nontalent earning a Premier League wage and holding a roster spot.

I'd rather upgrade on him, but we have more pressing transfer concerns.

If we get Malcom and Bernard, we’d only be an Alan and Clive short of a lawn bowls team.
We should close this thread now. You win.
On a serious note, this came out of nowehere - hope it's true. Hopefully this means Bolasie on the way out and we have a group of at-least semi-exciting wingers to play (Walcott, Lookman, Malcolm)

After the man-management prowess of Koeman and the other one, I don't blame him at all.
The other one... lol I like it.
Lookman must be told to give it a chance and he must be given a chance. If he doesn't want to be here on one year or if Silva doesn't want him, then let both parties move on then, but he must be convinced and encouraged to stay.

The club statement read:
“Everton Stadium Development Limited (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Everton Football Club) and Peel Land and Property (Ports) Limited have formally signed an agreement for the Club to lease land at Bramley Moore Dock, Liverpool Waters."
“The lease, which is conditional upon gaining planning consent for the proposed new stadium and securing funding for its construction, will run for a period of 200 years at a peppercorn rent.”
A agreement. Nothing binding.
Depends on what time of agreement mate, could very well be binding, could very well be binding with termination fees.
Question: What's your favorite railroad in the UK? I was thinking of taking the Caledonian Sleeper to Scotland if I ever visit.

Daily mirror saying that Everton are lining up a 35mil bid for Forsberg. Swedish news are running with it (in rumour sections)
i actually thought he had a poor world cup. Didnt reach his potential but im guessing that it was because he wanted to put himself in the shopping window. Playing to find a new club, and it kinda made him more nervous than usual.
He has said his goodbyes to Liepzig so its worth a punt
Not sure he's who I'd want but I'd rather be after guys who disappointed this World Cup because ones who impressed fetch insane fees.

Really hopeful on this one - looks an excellent young player, and obviously with the pricetag, not "one for the future" but one for the present AND future.

The project has stalled, most can see it has. It is obvious. No planning applied for, no design released after many months, no land or lease purchased - not owning the land is giving concern. Why the stall?
The dock cannot provide a stadium large enough with large enough revenues for a club wanting to be a permanent member of the top 4, amongst other points.
This has already been pointed out to you. It is quite simple.
Keep up the Shakespeare fellas, I am a fan.
It would be massive commercial revenues rather than matchday revenues that would really allow us to catch up.

Seeing as the only important national job that has been occupied for longer than 6 years is Germany and turnover is so regular, that perception doesn’t seem like it matters anymore. I’m not sure there’s a bigger national team manager position in the world right now than Belgium in their golden age. I’m also not sure how he got the gig in the first place.
What I'm trying to say is that I think he might really fancy the Spain job, but will need to create a new perception of himself at Belgium to land a job like that...

Belgium’s ranked 3rd in the world. How is that not a big national job?
Bit of a golden age for them - not sure they'll be at that position in 5-10 years - Belgium definitely not in the tier of Brazil, Spain, Germany, France in terms of the status and perception of the job.

Martinez changed the game with those two substitutions. Japan didnt cut through anything, they played very well and organised and made two very well taken goals after defensive errors.
Also, Lukaku showed with that stepover for the last goal that he isn'ttt just a great goalscorer but a very good football player.
Oh dear. Please no. Please, save it for the Lukaku thread. Please God.
Japan did really well - played to their style, lucky to not concede earlier but didn't capitulate when it went to 2-2 but rather slowly grew back into the game... Extra time would've been interesting.
Martinez needs a semifinal or final run here.... If he had gone out at the round of 16 with a performance like that against Japan, he would've really given the pundits ammo who say he's not cut for the top level. A surprise run for Belgium maybe, just maybe, could get his name tossed around some big national jobs or European qualified club jobs.

Luke Garbutt is such an enigma, I can still remember him getting minutes in the Europa League and looking like the next big thing. I honestly thought we'd have Baines warming the bench and him up and down the left-wing by now but it just hasn't happened for the lad.
At 25, he should be an established footballer. You've got the likes of Tom Davies having games before they turn 20 so unfortunately it's a race against time for Luke and with yet another loan spell under his belt it's only a matter of time before it's made permanent.
I've always liked him and do wonder what has gone on behind the scenes to stop him from "making it". Another side of me wonders how he's ended up playing for Cheltenham, Colchester, Fulham and Wigan in the past four years yet none of them wanted him permanently - a bad egg perhaps? Who knows.
A shame in my opinion, I really had high hopes for Luke.
Agreed, Oxford do seem to like poaching from Everton and I wouldn't be surprised if we finally cut ties with Garbutt and he makes his loan switch permanent. At 25, he really needs to find a home.
A fellow Football Manager fan! Top stuff.
I'd rather him take a step down below his likely level and show what a talent he is rather than risk being Browning or Galloway, who hardly played on loan last year at all and wasted a year of development. Think he will ultimately be a Championship player.

Think it will be Keane and another defender we sign who can slot in.

You are giving too much priority to the armband. It doesn't matter who the official captain is, it's about leadership. As long as Seamus is on the pitch, wearing the armband or not, he'll give his heart for the win. That's what really matters.
So much this. The captaincy is another distraction and English media obsession that underscores the overall cohesiveness of a dressing room where the players have a high level of respect for each other and the coaches, and where individuals are held accountable to an accepted standard.

Never easy to play a newly promoted side away in your first game.
Haven't we gotten both Norwich and Leicester as newly promoted sides away in the past 5 or so years? Wolves will do us, but after that it's a reasonable first five fixtures.

Na we need better. Well we already have better. Dost wouldn’t make it in the premier league. Cenk is a much better player.
Just an opinion of course.
I was going to say, honestly Dost probably wouldn't be a good addition given that he's too similar to Cenk - both more pure poachers
-
Bas Dost please.

And so it starts.
About a week after we appoint a new DoF and Manager..."not much is happening".
What the fuck do people want?!!! Jesus.
This is the problem - people are hooked on social media and need to know something new every day.
I really hope that just because player 'x' hasn't yet left, or player 'y' hasn't yet signed, that fans don't start to groan. Or they are in the vast minority.
New DoF. New Manager. 9 days into new jobs. Season finished - players rightfully having a holiday.
Unreal.
People need to consider the best option that keeps you distracted from social media: Employment.
