  1. I'd like to keep him around assuming he doesn't mind being a squad player rather than a starting XI regular. Solid centermid with a good shot and veteran experience. I really have no problems with having him onboard. At first, I thought he was a short-term McFadden like signing just to have another warm body, but I think he could hang around awhile like I said, as long as he doesn't expect to start every week.
  2. Maybe get Vegard Forren as well? It'd make me somewhat sad considering how well Heitinga played last year, and he seemed to finally settle in last season, as well with Distin's rising age, but I don't think we could turn down 7m for Heitinga.
  3. I'm worried... Mirallas seems to having a nagging Hamstring injury, Gibson has a thigh injury that doesn't seem to want to go away... I just hope this calf problem doesn't become a constant for Hibbert. MIrallas and Gibson have bright futures here, but they seem to have a problem staying fit, and both of them have recurring injuries...
  4. I'd definitely take him on a loan with an option to buy, but not an outright buy for 6m pounds like they wanted.
  5. Ugh. If we lose him to Liverpool, I'll be so annoyed. Arsenal I can understand, but Liverpool? Really Lewis? Has your dad not taught you better?
  6. I personally think we should got with 3 centerhalves and two wingbacks for this one. I know we won't, but having Distin, Heitinga, and Jagielka would help to quell Chelsea's offensive firepower. I'd feel more confident if I knew Hibbert and Gibson were available.
  7. Ossie was good, but he doesn't have them moves like Jagielka...... Also, thought Oviedo was quite good. Good guy to fill in at either leftback or left mid. I feel bad for Jelavic, he's really having a tough run and his frustration is really starting to show. You can tell he's losing confidence by how easy he is going to ground. Distin was very shaky, and it seems that both he and Heitinga are struggling to find form (Too bad considering how well Jags is playing as of late).
  8. I think we drew 0-0 with them two years ago in December at Goodison... Can't remember if it was 0-0 or 1-1.

Nevermind, they finished 12th, could've been 10th had their goal difference been better than Swansea and WBA... 11 points clear of relegation as well. That's about as good of a season as a promoted side can hope for, especially one that didn't spend tens of millions of pounds on established Premier League players, or even well-known and proven players from foreign leagues. But I hope that Moyes continues to realize that he shouldn't put out the same 11 every week, and that it should vary depending on form and the opposition team.
  10. 3-1 at Goodison. We scored two at or around extra time. It was a 1-1 draw at DW last season.

Agree with this in full. For example, look at Norwich last year. Paul Lambert switched it up every game depending upon the team he was playing, and in part because of this, guided a team predicted to finish 20th to a 14th place finish, well above relegation.
  12. Oh God. Run for your lives, Lee Mason is set to be the ref for our match against Wigan. While Anthony Taylor is one of the worst refs, Lee Mason IS the worst.

Then let's as a club sue Anthony Taylor for damages in civil court? I'd love to see a chairman sue a referee. *Note* I realize the unrealistic nature of what I proposed. Only being half-serious.

Anthony Taylor is a horrible ref. Every time I've watched him ref a match he's made mistakes. Remember against WBA a few years ago when he gave Bilyaletdinov a straight red for a challenge on James Morrison, and he didn't even touch Morrison? Morrison even told Taylor that and tried to get him out of it but he still sent him off. Unbelievable, this ref isn't fit to officiate a sunday league match, much less the Premier League. I hope that tool doesn't get a match in ever again. Ruined the game for both clubs. Hell, his refereeing was so poor for a second I thought it was Lee Mason on a diet. But seriously, good result, the team played well with the exception of Heitinga and Jelavic
  15. I'd love to have Slaven Bilic as our manager, but he isn't going to leave Lokimotiv Moscow for us. I like Ian Holloway, but not sure I'd want him at Everton, and my unrealistic dream manager would be Marcelo Bielsa from Athletic Bilbao, but that's totally out of question. What about Mowbraw from MIddlesbrough? Above all, I like David Moyes as our manager.
  16. Will Hughes certainly looks to be a top talent for the future. It appears though that Derby put a 5 million pound pricetag on him, or at least that's what the rumor is, which would certainly put him out of our price range unfortunately (Moyes wouldn't pay 5m for a 17 year old unproven kid). Hughes is attracting the attention of Barcelona, Arsenal, Liverpool and others. But just to fantacize, could you all imagine our midfield with Barkley and Hughes in it in 3-5 years? Goosebumps.
  17. I like the fact that he's American and seems to be able to play a lot of different positions. However, is he good enough for the Premier League?

Similar to Stoke, but not as much of a home fortress and not quite as physical, but still a very direct team. I want to feel optimistic about this one.
  19. Fellaini was awful and unnerved today, and deserves whatever suspension is coming. Jelavic was also poor today, just seemed very frustrated by not having much support or service, and easily crumbled when physically pressured by Stoke. Gibson was also rather poor today, and Pienaar was absent the entire second half. Barkley looked good though as a sub (I thought we should've brought on Vellios for Fellaini to give Jelavic some more support), and I thought Baines, Coleman, and Jagielka all did well.
  20. I'd like to be positive, but I just don't like us today. Hopefully I'm wrong! Stoke is tough at home, and they play excellent defense!
  21. Any chance we could grab him in January for a very low fee? Like Spurs got Pienaar from us, or like we got Gibson from Utd? Just to make sure he signs for us?
  22. I don't know. I'm not sure whether or not he'd want to leave the MLS. He's lived his whole life in the wonderful weather of California, and is a superstar in the MLS. In the Premier League, he wouldn't be a superstar, and might very well not be in the starting 11 with Mirallas now at the club, not to mention the weather of Liverpool in the winter doesn't exactly match that of California. However, I would like to think that he wants to play in a top league in Europe (full time) at some point in his career, and he also loves Everton. I don't know, only time will tell.
  23. Oh youre always talking about creating competition within the squad. Or somebody on this messageboard is. Especially about Howard.
  24. Great free transfer. Not the youngest (28), but sell-on value doesn't really matter when he's on a free. Big, tall lad who is a proven goal scorer. I'd take him.
  25. The stated fee for Vadis Oiajslkdgjalkdfja-Ofoe was a loan with a view to a 6m permanent move. I doubt we'll get 7m for Heitinga, but if we'd did, we'd need to replace him or find another Centerback for depth purposes (Vegard Forren?), unless we bring in Lescott on loan, which would delay the need for another Centerback for 6 months. Moyes is excellent in transfer windows, and if there are any funds available, I'm sure he'll be able to use them for the best.
