  1. His preference is to play left side of midfield. Granted he isnt going to past someone and whip a cross in,as pointed out he cuts in, he does just about have 2 feet but is predominantly right footed Certainly not a central player in my eyes. My brother in law is a Spurs fan and says he has a tendency to get overrun when playing in the middle because his game is very one dimensional.
  2. I had heard rumours of your swearability You paint a picture mate
  3. Fair point, we do need a bit of pace. However I would say he is accomplished at playing wide and isnt just doing a job. He also has less miles on the clock than Crouch and bar his time at Portsmouth his games to goals ratio isnt too bad for a midfielder
  4. Just posted that in the crouchy thread Please god no - a straight swap? For a 31 year old on 70k a week. Throw in Kranjcar as well and I might be interested. The straight swap makes no financial sense to me, the extra 10mill would be required for his wages over a 3 year deal, in 3 years he is 34,no resale no nothing And Redknapp is a wanker
  5. http://www.people.co...02039-23324783/ Please god no £10mill plus bambi for Rodders? He is 31, earns 70k a week Surely there are better options from Spurs, Krnajcar?
  6. If we wanted a Man City forgotten man we should have had Felipe Caicedo before Lokomotiv picked him up.
  7. I havent seen much so far so cant really comment on Cahills performances thus far. This is the first time he has had a close season break for a little while so perhaps taking a little time to pick back up? Trouble is we are within spitting distance of the new season and I hope and pray we can make a better start than usual
  8. Thankfully FM is a bit more lenient and allows money to be kept. I had to sell Rodwell to finance some moves but the team is ticking along nicely now
  9. I have had enough of Tim Cahill. He is always in my football manager office moaning about something Too much training, doesnt like Barkley, wants to talk to Arsenal
  10. A special injury remedy that fixes things in about 2 days, thus enabling our best side to play every week Failing the miracle cure - a striker who can take his chances and some genuine width on the left. If the Pedro Leon rumour were to come off then thats one problem solved so it would just be a striker. Saha wont stay fit, Beckford is not prolific, Yak is inconsistent and unfit
  11. I would love this to happen. A genuine wide player with an eye for goal. However I wont be holding my breath
  12. The words sanctimonious and cunt spring to mind Can't think why
  13. Totally agree. Imo he needs to play off the front man, drop in when needed and just do what he does, badger and harass
  14. Whilst football has moved on quite significantly since the invincibles of 2003/2004 it is amazing how little that side cost, thanks Hafnia, very interesting
  15. It never ceases to amaze me that when people start naming their first choice side they often omit Tim Cahill Im sure he will be integral to our success this season and for the first time in years he has had his feet up this summer and looks set to start fit and fresh
  16. I wouldnt pay him 67k a week and I would have thought he is demanding more as he is on a free. If he genuinely wanted to play for us he would drop his demands. Leave him be and let someone else take the risk at that sort of money
  17. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/six-years-after-flirting-with-elite-everton-are-still-pining-2331939.html An interesting read
  18. Looking at some of his stats my statement does appear deeply foolish, however to clarify, I think he has massive purple patches and then prolonged barren spells. He was exceptional in his first season with us scoring 21 in 39 since then in 3 seasons 12 in 68. Not what you want and perhaps its this that has confused me, I dunno, I was pretty drunk
  19. I would argue Yak wasnt a proven goalscorer or at least not over a prolonged period of time. He was a player at the right price that could masquerade as a "big signing". Maybe, and I cant remember, we were more injury free in our CL season that meant cracks didnt need to be papered over. If we could turn out our best side every week we could win the league as on our day we can beat anyone - the way we finished last season is testament to that I said arguably best manager but if you think that is open to debate then you must be seeing another financially hamstrung manager who consistently gets the most from his sub standard resources, but you are right another thread
  20. From the Guardian rumour mill Everton are eyeing Peter Crouch. However they don't have any money. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/aug/04/transfer-rumours-gary-cahill-liverpool Is it not the most pointless story ever? I want to go to the pub tonight but i dont have any money (well I do, the missus just wont let me)
  21. I was refused entry to the Liverpool supporters club because I have been circumcised Apparently you have to be a complete prick to join
  22. Ian Bothams autobiography. Beefy is a legend
  23. We are a fundamentally better side than those though. Our squad now is essentially not that different from the one that qualified for CL.We have stability and arguably the best manager in the league, a camaraderie and spirit that cant be bought. If we want CL we need a proven goalscorer and a natural left winger/midfielder. If Moyes had a 50-60million transfer budget I would back him to break into the top 4 within 2 seasons.
  24. Having read it now I would agree its a very fair assessment of the situation.
