    Someone could've told him he wasn't getting his contract renewed, but he had to know it wasn't going to be. 12 appearances in the last 4 seasons? Come on, Tony. It's just a bit of miscommunication, and I really don't think he should've bad-mouthed the club. That said, the club could have acted more professionally.

    Yeah, he was probably paid more than he should've been... but seriously, it's not that hard to notify him if he's not staying on. Awkward yeah, but is the right thing to do. Everton should've stepped up there.

    On the other hand, I'm also seeing comments mentioning that we are getting a steal at his price.

    I've done the same, and I agree that they really don't seem to care much that he's going. They view it as a safe purchase for us (if it goes through). Maybe he just wasn't motivated to play to play for them? Of course if he comes he'll have my backing, but I'm reserving judgment until he gets a handful of matches under his belt.

    Yep -- general consensus seems to be that he lost the ball a lot and had to recover. Basically... when you're playing for the worst team in the league you're expected to be exposed to the defensive side of the game more.
