    Pep is an excellent manager, BUT I'd hate to play under him. Seems a bit of a control freak, which would -- in my mind -- would make me spite him (as a player). If that makes sense.

    Besic is injured. Davies has barely played any minutes and is still a bit of an unknown. Gibson is way too unreliable. That essentially leaves us with an aging Barry and Gueye as our only reliable CMs at the moment, if we got rid of McCarthy and Cleverley.

    Glad to see he's going on loan somewhere. Hopefully he shines and either: A) comes back a much-improved player ready to fight Baines for the LB spot, or raises his price to potential suitors.

    This I agree with. I don't think they're very far apart in terms of ability.

    His numbers have dropped quite a bit since the DNC. You can only say so many stupid things and get away with it -- his time is about up.

    I don't think so either really, but hopefully there's some other keeper in the pipeline. I've seen enough of Joel and Stek to know that they are just as likely to have their errors.

    Well probably yes, but we should still try to save points wherever possible. I don't think we'll have to settle on having one or the other now.

    You wouldn't have to worry. Trump won't get elected, and the immigrants he's talking about are of a different variety. It's typical ideology for Republican politics -- no different than before other than Trump is just more brash about it.

    I would like him here but at nowhere near the price that is being thrown around -- half of that maybe.

    Yeah, I really don't see it happening. Mata is a bit of a luxury player, and I don't see him fitting in Koeman's philosophy. (doesn't mean I wouldn't want him here)
