Pep is an excellent manager, BUT I'd hate to play under him. Seems a bit of a control freak, which would -- in my mind -- would make me spite him (as a player).

Besic is injured. Davies has barely played any minutes and is still a bit of an unknown. Gibson is way too unreliable.
That essentially leaves us with an aging Barry and Gueye as our only reliable CMs at the moment, if we got rid of McCarthy and Cleverley.

Glad to see he's going on loan somewhere. Hopefully he shines and either: A) comes back a much-improved player ready to fight Baines for the LB spot, or raises his price to potential suitors.
I don't think so either really, but hopefully there's some other keeper in the pipeline. I've seen enough of Joel and Stek to know that they are just as likely to have their errors.

Yeah, I really don't see it happening. Mata is a bit of a luxury player, and I don't see him fitting in Koeman's philosophy.
