Haha! I remember I posted such a topic on here a fair while back and was shot down. In truth I think it's something that definitely needs looking into. It would certainly be an innovative approach (at least as far as the Premiership/UK/England, was concerned). I've no idea if it could or would work, but it's a more pro-active approach than sitting around hoping that we're gonna win the lottery someday.
Think I'd have to agree with most of the above posts. Winning something, even if it's just for the bragging rights, is a lot better then almost finishing in a Champions League spot.!!
He did look a bit, erm... heavy, from what I saw breifly form highlights. I think he may have a way to go till he gets fully fit, but did show a nice glimpse of the spectacular with the overhead [i'm ignoring the fact that is was a fair way over the bar ]. I'm not sure he's ready for a full 90 mins of prem action, but I'm still hopefully that he may be a slow burner.
Also, nice to see in the interview, him mentioning 'good players' like Maggie, Conor, Seamus, and Barkley. I think that says a lot about the youth we've got.
Just watched the highlights and his post-match interview (from the ressies match), and the more I see him, the more I like him. he comes across with a really good attitude, I hope he can keep that up, and we get to see some good things from him.
One guy on that doc made me laugh.. when they were asking fans (I think Millwall) whether the culprits should be named, one fan replied that they should be suspended, then kicked out! Don't see what the point of them being suspended first is!?
Tough one indeed,, couldn't really pick any one individual out, as I think overall the team played well (except for the goals we conceded). However, gone for Baines, as he is by far our most consistent player.
Poor defending, two goals from nothing. Disappointed, but taking the positives... we played well, Drenthe looked good, as did Barkley and Vellios when they came on. Not all lost if you ask me. (except those two points :| )
