  1. I wouldn't even call that a date: 'summer' - so that means really anytime between June 21 - September 22.
  2. I think the top seven at the end of the season, will be the exactly the same top seven as they are now. Manu Arsenal Chelsea City Spurs Liverpool Everton We've got probably the hardest run in, with Utd, City and Chelsea, as well as away to relegation-dogfighters Wigan. After us I'd say Spurs has the toughest, but even with their (until) tomorrow game in hand over City, I just can't see them gaining more points than City. Maybe it'll come down to when Spurs go to Eastlands, but I doubt it. City's hardest games til the end of the season are probably gonna be against us and Spurs. As for overtaking Liverpool, they are two points ahead and can see them getting more points from Brum-Barcodes-Spurs(H) and Villa-Fulham(A), then we will get against Manu(A),Wigan(A),City(H),Brom(A),Chelsea(H). Even though we are on a good run, I wouldn't expect more than 9-11pts from 15, in fact I'd probably be happy with 10. That means Liverpool only need 8 to secure 6th. Slim, chance maybe, but for me too slim, I voted impossible. EDIT: as for the FA Cup: heart says Stoke, head says City.
  3. I think Bale and Baines and the left with Coleman/HibboNeville on the right would be a seriously dangerous force. Put Felli, Arteta, Ossie in Midfield and a top striker up front, and that team-sheet would scare most teams. Wonder if a swap deal with Peinaar and Billy for Bale was ever mooted.
  4. I'm disappointed because we don't win, we conceded another sloppy goal. But to be honest, I've come to expect it now. Generally, I feel hugely underwhelmed.
  5. We seem to be having a bit of possession at the moment - expect a Brum goal ;|
  6. Well happy for Johnny there. Nice one lad!
  7. I'm a bit suspicious of these rumours now, and I may be being paranoid, but they always seem to surface when we're at a low point. Also, the journo there says "interest from potential new owners" "there has been considerable interest [over the last three years]...including an approach from a major sports group in America". That Bick guy says that one had 'deep pockets' but that just 'stopped'. So that one's a non-runner. There's also not that much said about the three 'serious' approaches received. For me, I can't see anything to get my hopes up about. We are desperately in need of investment, we all know that, but I'm not going to get carried away by this report. the presenter of the piece end with this "Everton will hope that some of that interest crystallises into concrete offers" and that is the key for me.... interest is just that. I could say I'm interested in buying Everton, but apart from the fact that I could only afford to throw in about a tenner, I don't think that would class as a concrete offer.
  8. From the Beeb: We had 11 professional football players on the pitch as well, I don't think we took advantage of that either.
  9. Not sure I give a fuck any more! If we play like that for the rest of the season, .... (big sigh!) EDIT: Forgot to mention that I just heard on R5 that Felli is out for the season
  10. Commentators said 3 shots on target from us!!! enough said I think :'(
  11. Disappointing, I thought we'd have been up for this one a bit more
  12. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm always more nervous playing teams from lower leagues, especially in the cups. As Blue250 said, they'll have no fear, and we've got to make sure we don't go into this one thinking it'll be a walk over. If we do then we're out already.
  13. Is that article about Saha's crash or about the Ferrari 458 Italia, which it says may or may not have even been involved in the crash? Anyway, although I'm glad he's alright, I'm surprised he managed to walk away unscathed, I would have at least thought we'd be looking at a thigh strain.
  14. Impossible, there's a loophole that states that LFC automatically receive automatic qualification even if the fail to gain automatic qualification through league position or the winning of any cup competitions.
  15. I got us at 7th, (with in my opinion, fairly biased scores), with Man Utd winning by 2 points over Arsenal. Chelsea, City, Spurs, Liverpool, Us. I'd be happy with that considering the poor season we've had, (as long as there's a cup final appearance to show for it as well West Brom, Wolves & Wigan down.
  16. Is this game what they call a six pointer. Looking at the table, we really needed a win against Bolton the other week, now we really need to win against Sunderland today, if we don't we'll be ten points behind them (7th), with 11 games to play! Also, considering our 'form' of beating the bigger sides then losing winnable games straight after, I'm a bit worried. I just hope that confidence is high within the team, the crowd are still buzzing after last week and get behind them, and... we have a decent striker on the pitch!! not much to ask, is it? COYB!
  17. A bit of topic, and probably not of much interest to most, but I found this on the Beeb and had a small chuckle at the quote he made on his retirement Link
  18. I'd take City, we have a good recent record against them, and we seem to play better against the better sides, so I'd be more worried about us drawing Leyton Orient. Still, as Mike said, we've got get past Reading first.
  19. Gave it to Tim, cos he kept us in it several times during the match. Some top saves. Baines was close, not just for the free-kick. I'm so glad Arteta didn't take it
  20. To be honest, I can't quite believe it. I was just get myself ready to see season the out, with nothing to play for and Bainesy goes and drops one in the top corner. Kind of had a feeling he'd miss the pen, that's just the way it goes. Hopefully, that will galvanise the boys and bring some much needed confidence and prove a real moral boosting win. Totally have no fingernails left, and was clenching so hard through that I don't think I'll be able to shit for a week.
  21. Please not Arteta to take!,. Baines pu it in lad
  22. Has been coming since, Beckford went off!
