  1. Yeah, I know, was a bit bored and thought I might try to add some excitement to this 'whirlwind' TDD.
  2. Apparently Grafiti has been seen at Finch Farm after receiving work permit, don't believe it myself. (source: bbc)
  3. In all honest, this transfer deadline day is a bit lame from where I'm sitting. Not really any exciting signings going on anywhere at all. And with only, what about an hour left, I don't see anything changing in that time. Maybe Yobo going, but certainly no one coming in.
  4. Grafite - on Wikipedia, his current club is currently named as Everton FC and has shirt number 23 (Coleman's) - maybe a swap deal has been done that we've yet to hear about!!! On a serious note - although it's nice to be linked with a new striker, considering our recent lack of goal-scoring prowess, unless it was a loan-deal then I'm not sure I could see this happening. And at 31, I'm not sure he'd be suitable for spending our meagre resources on.
  5. Can't fucking believe this. We can't we put the ball in the back of the net. I had a feeling that we'd struggle once they got the goal and started putting 11 men behind the ball. We haven't got an answer when teams play like that. What the hell Rodwell was doing at right mid I have no idea, ffs, either Coleman or Gueye would have done a better job. Then bringing on Johnny for Hibbo when we need to be bringing on attacking players who are going to get in and around the box. This is apparently our worst start for 10 years, the only thing is there's no excuse this time around. We've got a (almost) fully fit squad and a squad which is probably the best we've had for about 20 years. Yet.... Someone needs to remind Moyes/the players that to win a game of football you have to put the ball in the opposition's goal more times than they put it in yours.
  6. 16 Corners and fuck all to show for it!
  7. What a f'in mess at the back. We're lucky not to be two or three down.
  8. Looks like Coleman's gonna get a run out at right-mid, let's see how well he does.
  9. What the fuck was Jags doing there!! FFS!
  10. Disappointing, but predictable, Everton. Lots of possession, most of the play, but no clear chances on goal, and no clear goal threat to speak of. Edit: Oh yeah, and the stupid goal given away.
  11. 1546: BREAKING ASTON VILLA TEAM NEWS: Stephen Ireland has injured himself in the warm-up, so is replaced in the Villa midfield by Nigel Reo-Coker.
  12. I read somewhere a quote, that he needs to make a lot of changes after Mourinho and it's gonna take time. It made me think, if Mourinho managed to win the treble with this team (a treble which included the Champs League and Domestic League titles), surely there ain't gonna be too much that you need to change!
  13. Considering the teams in the draw, I suppose you could say we've got it easy. However, I'm always weary when we got drawn against the lower league teams, especially when we're away.
  14. The way their teams playing at the moment, this group is solid, they'll be lucky to scrape 3 points together.
  15. Couldn't resist that one As for Spurs, they probably will get through, I'm just not sure they'll have as easier a ride as the other English teams. I think they'll struggle away from home.
  16. Petrov quoted on the Beeb: Sounds to me as though there's a bit of unrest in the dressing room and a few heads are elsewhere at the moment.
  17. Group A: Inter Milan, Werder Bremen, TOTTENHAM, FC Twente Group B: Lyon, Benfica, Schalke, Hapoel Tel Aviv Group C: MANCHESTER UNITED, Valencia, RANGERS, Bursaspor Group D: FC Everton, Panathinaikos, FC Copenhagen, Rubin Kazan Group E: Bayern Munich, AS Roma, FC Basel, CFR Cluj Group F: CHELSEA, Marseille, Spartak Moscow, MSK Zilina Group G: AC Milan, Real Madrid, Ajax, Auxerre Group H: ARSENAL, Shakhtar Donetsk, SC Braga, FK Partisan I must say apart from Spurs, the English teams shouldn't have to many problems progressing. Rangers may have to fight it out for the second spot. Other than that there could be some good games there. Particularly like the look of group G, though Groups A and B should throw up some really good matches. What do you reckon guys.. any early thoughts, predictions?
  18. Villa out of Europe, a manager who's probable going to be managing his last game in charge, rumours about Ashley Young maybe moving on - a team in disarray one may say, and certainly lacking in confidence at the moment. Could this be the best time for us to play them?
  19. I'd like (and I'm sure a few others on here agree) to see Seamus get a few minutes at right-mid. I know Gosling played there a bit and surely Seamus would do a better job. Especially, if we're struggling to break down teams like Blackburn/Wolves. You can keep a fairly solid defense together, but use him to try and get beyond the last man and whip in a cross on two. I can't see why this wouldn't be a great experience for him. If his defensive side's still lacking, then maybe push him forward a bit and learn as he plays alongside Hibbo/Neville. A similar approach seems to have done Rodders the world of good, and (someone else mentioned this elsewhere, but), Gareth Bale at Spurs is now a beast of a player in my opinion.
  20. Howard Neville Jags Distin Baines :afro: Billy Arteta Cahill Peinaar Saha I think that's how we'll line up. I would personally swap Beckford and Gueye for Saha and Cahill, having Gueye on the wing and Billy in the middle. I'd think about trying to bring on Heitinga, Coleman (in right-mid) and Saha, depending on how things are going. I must say though, it's pretty hard to pick a team - even with that line up, there's still Rodders, Hibbo, Ossie and Yak on the bench.
  21. Just watched the goals. Some nice goals as marco said ^^. Bit gutted for Johhny, you could see the disappointment on his face. Hope he gets one soon.
  22. Is something like this what you're after?
