  1. Snods saying that Felli is looking fit and is gonna get some minutes on the pitch later on tonight. Great news!
  2. It's frustrating that other clubs can find new investment so easily. Beeb Unbelievable that a club in so much debt can be sold in a matter of months and others are looking for investors every day for years and find nothing.
  3. would be gutted if he went to any other club other than ours. Would be absolutely gutted and sick if he went to City. I really hope we've put a bid in for him, we'd have a really string team going into this season. However, I've got a feeling that he may just end up somewhere else... Come on Landycakes, you know where you'll be loved. Just found this: Link
  4. Personally, I think that's a bit naive, and it's the kind of attitude that gets teams like Leeds and Portsmouth where they are today. I'd much prefer us to do it (let me say) 'the honest way', and build gradually year on year, as we have been doing. I agree with Mike's earlier post. The boys played really well from January on till the end of the season, and having seen the couple of pre season games we've played already, I think we've reason to be optimistic with what we've got. I don't want to tempt fate, and comparing us to previous pre-seasons, we don't look in too bad a shape at all, and that's without Peinaar, Johnny H, Fellaini, Jakubu, and for the most part Arteta and Cahill. Granted I'd like to see one or two come in, but I wouldn't be afraid to start the season with what we've got. Cheebs looks to be coming on nicely now, and Beckford and Magaye look like they could be good signings from the little I've seen of them so far. And there's always the chance Landycakes could come back on another loan spell. For me the future's bright, the future's a bright fluorescent pink!
  5. EvertonTV stream is well boring. where the fuck are the vuvuzelas!?
  6. eh!! Can't believe that since it's been know for a while that he (Mikey's lad) has/had problems with his sight. So I can't see him just turning around and saying that now.
  7. (Has anyone actually seen Taxi lately!!???) Whether he gets in the first team or not is irrelevant to some extent.. the most important thing is that T-How is pushed for his position (as much and as well as all the other players/positions are).. as it only makes them better. If he does manage to break into the first team, great!.. if he manages to make T-How better, great!... it's only if he does neither, or is so bad that T-H 'disproves' (sorry, little bit drunk and can't think of the opposite to 'improve'), that we can say he's a failure. I, for one though, am a bit excited about this signing, I'm hoping he's gonna push a little bit harder than our recent keeper signings have (Nash, etc).
  8. Would have been nice to have had Bainesy in the squad; would have given me a reason to support England. As it stands, it's gonna be the same old story I'm afraid. The way I see it, only if Rooney is fit, and doesn't get sent off/miss any games are England gonna have any chance. I haven't seen anything to prove otherwise that the England team is nothing but a team of individuals who can not play together. Just for fun, here's my predictions: Gerrard will grossly underachieve and have a shocking tournament. Crouch will score one goal in the group stages in the second half of the second half of their last group game. Rooney will start off well looking to earn the player of the tournament award, but... England will go out in the Quarter Finals (not on penalties, for a change - See Last 16 prediction below) Cole will play well in each game and Warnock won't get a look in (so makes no difference for Baines anyway) Terry will prove he should have held on to the captaincy as Rio bottles it, and makes a rook of errors. Lampard will be anonymous for much of the time but will show flashes of what he does at Chelsea Barry will play one game, before getting injured again and be out for the rest of the tournament. SWP will play a bit part but will not put one decent cross into the box. Joe Cole will only be used as a sub. When he comes on, he will look one of England's more impressive players and England will look more dangerous. When England get knocked out people will be asking why he didn't start more. England will win a game on penalties - progressing from the last 16 into the quarter finals. They'll miss 2 pens, but the opposition will miss 3 - this will be the one positive thing England will take from the tournament. In one half of football, Jamie Carragher will wrestle three players to ground, stop the ball from crossing the goal line with his hand, wildly kick at an opposing winger - fracturing his shin, and will blatantly bring down a striker in the penalty box. He will be given a yellow card the last offence, but England will be awarded a goal kick. Baines will come out after the tournament and reveal way he was left out of the squad: something to do with inappropriate sexual advances made by one of the coaching staff. In England's last game, it will be pouring with rain, Capello will be found on the sidelines hold what suspiciously looks like a umbrella. He will later deny the claims, stating that it was in fact a parasol designed for wet weather. He will quit after the World Cup.
  9. Gutted for Bainesy... Bit confused about the homesick rumours that have been circling.. surely that can't be the reason he was left out.
  10. Or indeed the Hurdy Gurdy Man, could also be an option. However, since he's from the sunshine state of California, I thought sunshine superman would be quite apt. There's gotto be a lot of material there to base a song on. However, "They call him Landycakies..." doesn't, quite rightly, fit.
  11. Haha, I actually watched the all the episodes not so long ago. Great stuff As for 'Landycakes', I think it's funny. As for an alternative, how about "Sunshine Superman" << 10 bonus points if anyone can get the reference.
  12. If he does sign for us, I'll certainly buy one of them.
  13. My personal opinion is that, when (what did the post starter call him??, oh yeah!) Landycakes was playing for us, we looked a much more balanced side. We were able to launch dangerous looking attacks down both wings, and looked much more formidable. It's OK having that great Baines-Pienaar parntership on the left, and don't get me wrong that is a good partnership we've got going on down there. However, we do look a bit one sided at times, and if you think about the right hand side, we are much weaker. We either have Hibbert or Neville overlapping someone like Osman or Anichebe. The latter two not really effective right-wingers, and the former two , whilst hard-working, are not the best deliverers of the ball. I know there are many Coleman lovers here, so imagine, Seamus and Landycakes attacking down the right, with Baines/Peinaar down the left, (not to mention a spine of Arteta, Fellaini and Heitinga)<< that line up makes me shiver with excitement. I didn't think of this before, but I also have to agree with Rebecula, about the shirt sales thing. It seems Donovan is immensely popular over there, and we saw for ourselves here how many new members were coming on the site just because he'd signed with us. Don't know how much of an effect this would have in real terms but, I think 6million would be a steal, 8 would be good business and 10 a bit of a push, but justifiable. I'd love to see him here permanently, however, I'm not sure it's gonna happen this summer. We may see him here on another loan spell though, which I suppose is better than nothing.
  14. Oh no! Great finish from Dowie, could be the winner.
  15. Extra time. Arsenal look the more dangerous though. Come on Girls!!
  16. 2-2 - Arsenal looking on top at the moment.
  17. Arsenal just equalised with a penalty.
  18. In the grand scheme of things, you have to be proud of the players for what they've achieved - in the league at least - since Christmas. To turn a team around that was in and around the relegation zone into a team fighting for a European place, is no mean feat, and credit to the players for doing that. However, I think what irks most people is that we know we could have done better this season - and not just at the beginning of the season. Though that would have helped enormously, I'm sure, by giving us bit more breathing space in the later part of the season. To be honest we haven't got a reputation for starting well, at least in the last two seasons, we've been saying "this is the game that's going kick-start our season" until November at least. Frankly, I hope I don't hear that phrase again, but until I see it I'm not holding my breath I suppose one good thing to take from the result yesterday is that we know exactly where we're gonna finish and how much prize money we're gonna receive - sooooo...... BK, get your calculator out, punch those numbers in, get peanuts signed up till 2014, find out how much you got left then go and fill those gaps in our squad - Oh! and while your at it, if you come across anyone with a few hundred million quid burning a whole in his pocket, tell him we need a new stadium built, and fast.
  19. Got to agree with Marcopaulo on the attacking aspect. We, at times, are not threatening or ruthless enough in front of goal. I think this could be helped with some real pace. We looked a much more balanced and dangerous side when we had Donovan on the right wing. Personally, I think the biggest thing we need to work on is our consistency. Perhaps being out of Europe will help us here, but I'm tired of seeing our boys look like world beaters one week and bed wetters the next.
