  1. haha!! Arteta!! what a doop!
  2. I'm glad I'm not the only one who's noticed Arteta is having a shit match (again). Even a lethargic Bilyaletdinov would surely produce more good than a non-plussed Arteta. Personally, I'd bring on Billy and let him play in an attacking midfield role, and push Cahill up along side Saha in a 442. Then bring Gueye on for Pienaar after 60 mins cos he (Peanuts)looks fooked. Also I'd like to see Saha off and Yak on. Maybe also bring Becks on for a good 25-30 mins... wait.. that's four subs!!! shit!
  3. Gave it to Coleman as he's always looking to get forward, always looking to attack, and hardly ever plays a ball sideways or back. Cahill a close second, worked his socks off today and got us a goal (for all it was worth).
  4. Played some good stuff in the first half. Coleman was quality again. But same old story, in not taking our chances and frankly not having enough shots on goal. Disappointed, but then I'm kind of getting used it now the way this season is going. I'm starting to think this team has peaked and it maybe worth thinking about getting rid of some of the deadwood.
  5. fair do's... after feeling pretty pissd off with another poor result... that has proper cheered me up. Thanks
  6. With Spurs losing, we have a chance to go upto fifth today!
  7. Personally, I don't see where fear of being called a Kopite comes into it; it's our club, if it's in our interest than what the heck do we care what anyone else says. (pun intended) As for the other point that you make about not enough people will to invest their small fortunes, that obviously would be a huge stumbling block. However, without concrete numbers about how many and how much it's difficult to say. I certainly have no idea how much would need to be raised for a buyout, I read another forum/thread about 50,000 people each putting in £2,000. That would raise £100million. Personally, I think those kind of targets area bit high, I'm not sure there are that many fans who could afford to stump up that much cash. I think that other options would need to be looked at to raise that kind of money. That, I feel, would be the difficult part.
  8. I'm sorry Romey, I feel you're missing my point? I'm not talking about starting a revolution here on TT, I'm not talking about picketing outside the ground, I'm not suggesting we hold a bed-in in the Gwladys Street Stand, and I'm not propagating the idea with the belief that it is the way forward.. However, whether the board will 'allow it' or not, at some point this board will no longer be running the club, whether they're are forced out, sold out, or the inevitable, endless sleep takes them from this world, someone else will eventually take control, and I'm curious to know whether the fan owned structure could work here at Everton. You may well deem this a pointless conversation because it may in all honesty never happen, but me I'm a dreamer and an optimist, and have a curious and open mind. For me Everton has a history of being innovators of football, and perhaps we could still be innovators. It's only a question, and a hypothetical one at that. Out of interest, what in your opinion is it 'to be pro-active'?
  9. Would the board have a choice if they were forced out? In all seriousness, I'm asking this question really to find out whether it is a feasible way to run a club such as Everton. We all know about Barcelona, but that is a completely different situation coming from a completely different history. Other clubs such as Exeter, Chester, Stirling Albion in Scotland have in recent times become fan-owned clubs. However, in all of these situations the clubs have been saved from extinction by being bought by supporters trusts. If it turns out that we don't/can't find a buyer or investor for our club, that no money is invested in players, and in some sort of new stadium, then perhaps this avenue is something worth looking at. If we were to go the next five years without investment in the club, I'm sure most people would say that the longer-term future of EFC does not look good, and most people would see that as a failure by the board. Personally, I wouldn't like to wait until Everton are on the brink of extinction before considering such an option. Whether this kind of structure would work here at Everton, I don't know, but I'm interested to find out what other people think.
  10. Considering recent events across the park, the unrest over at MUFC, the potential for eventual disaster when sugar-daddies throw their MCFC toys out of the pram, as well as new UEFA rules that clubs must operate within their means, is it possible that Everton could really and truly be called 'The People's Club'. Simply put, do you think that fan ownership is a feasible option for the future of EFC?
  11. Well if we can't score, why not let them do it for us.
  12. Just got in, seems I haven't missed much, just more of the same old...
  13. Bit off topic but that white/black away kit was gorgeous.
  14. Can't really say I'm disappointed as a draw was what I'd predicted, just a bit gutted to see us bottom of the table. A draw at Craven Cottage in all honesty is not a bad result after all, it's just I didn't see anything to suggest that we've turned the ship around and are gonna start getting wins any time soon; we're still playing well (in terms of putting the ball about, at least), it's just we still don't look threatening enough to put that ball into the oppositions net.
  15. We won't get a win at Craven Cottage, our record there is not good, and they're no mugs, (remember they got to the Europa League final just a few months ago). I also think we'll go there and put in a good performance, however, unless Schwarzer is feeling generous, and wants to let in a few for us, we certainly won't score more than one, and we'll definitely let at least one in our end, so I'm going for another disappointing draw: 1-1
  16. Don't know what to say really, I'm a bit stunned by the whole situation. What has happened to our team? I just can't believe that we're going into October and the only win we've got so far this season was at home to Huddersfield. I was worried about this game, cos we always do shit away to lower league teams in the cups. Obviously didn't watch any of the game, and I only had one ear on the radio comm. so I'm not going to point the finger at anybody, but surely the management staff have got to hold their hands up and start admitting some of their mistakes. Even if certain players are not performing, or pulling their weight, it's got to be down to the management to put that right - get players in the right frame of mind, and playing tot he best of their ability - perhaps by dropping certain players, or perhaps by playing players in their best positions. What makes me sick is that Moyes said time and again over the summer, this is his best squad, we've got no injuries, and he doesn't need to bring anyone else in. The fact is we still don't have a right side, we have no pace in our team, we still have no quality in-form striker, and whereas we struggle to put the ball in the oppositions net, we seem to be letting other teams do it to us for fun. I truly believe that the reason that we had such a good run of form earlier this year was because we had Donovan on the right, we truly looked an immense team then: well balanced, with a bit of pace. I'm not saying we should be signing Donovan, I'm just trying to point out that when we had that kind of player in the squad, we were a much better team. I honestly can't see us winning anything in the near future, for all the hype, we're still a very inconsistent and fragile team, that doesn't know how to win games, especially the hard games and the games that really count. Teams like Chelsea, Manu etc, have built their success on being ruthless at both ends and being able to finish games off. We very rarely look like a team that can do any of that.
  17. Ridiculous, utterly ridiculous.
  18. He'd have spontaneously combusted if it'd actually gone in and been allowed. Maybe the ref actually did Ferguson a favour, and probably saved his life
  19. Shall I tempt fate by saying we're looking quite good?? The question is: can we score??
  20. Everton have been declared the real champions of last season, according to some fair-play study. study-says-blues-were-real-champions- Bit of a meaningless article really, but great to see us at the top and the Shite and Shitty being relegated. Made me smile at least
  21. Sorry but you can't trust a word this Capello guy says.... Now the door is back open for Beckham apparently telegraph
