  2. What the hell happened there with that penalty. Oh Johnny!
  3. Yeah they should be up (sometime) after the game.
  4. Heitinga!! Own goal! Apparently sloppy defending again.
  5. I doubt this is more than BS Jurno-izm yet again. Coudl onyl see it happening if Pienaar left and we signed him for one year, while we look for a long term replacement. But saying that, I don't think Peanuts is going anyway.
  6. Not sure if this has been posted/seen already but Roy Keane's comments at the end are quality. (Work that one out!) http://www.skysports.com/video/inline/0,26691,16477_6331834,00.html
  7. I'm telling you this guy can't be trusted. How can he say Beckham is too old, and then turn around and say he wants Scholes to play, who is actually older than Becks. Whatever this guy says, five minutes later he's saying something contradictory. Scholes made a comment about the World Cup being the biggest competition, and maybe he would have thought about it differently if he'd have been given time to make a decision. Scholes will be 40 at the next World Cup, and I'm not really sure he'll feel the same about a European Champs, maybe, but is this really the type of player you should be investing the future of English football in. In my humble opinion, this is completely ridiculous.
  8. What about Crouch + Bentley + Redknapp. Then we'll keep Harry under the stairs and only let him out when children have been naughty ;D
  9. You mean it will be a 'Welegation battle' eh eh!!
  10. I thought Becks did alright at the weekend. Was always looking to get in around the box, dropping back and trying give-n-go's, made a few decent runs. Showed a bit of naivety at times and, (probably, emanating from his eagerness to get on the score sheet -which is no complaint, actually) I thought with that run on goal he had in the second half, he should have laid it off rather than trying to take it on himself. But all in all, he looks hungry, looks promising, looks as if he may turn into a decent signing. Having said that it's still early doors, and ultimately he'll be judged on how many goals he scores. Let's hope it's not too long till he starts doing that in the Premier League
  11. I think Crouchy is a pretty decent player, and is someone who will score goals for whatever team he's in (mainly due to his sheer height). I just wouldn't like to see him in exchange for Peinaar, and more so, if it meant we were just going to be hoofing balls forward looking for flick ons and knock downs. I'd prefer a (slightly) shorter striker with a bit of strength and pace, someone like an on-form Yakuba. (But that seems about as likely as Hodgson phoning Moyesy and saying "I've got this Spanish kid here, he's really good, will score goals, but I thought you could use him more than us, so, 'ere ya go, have him").
  12. I agree with that, I think we'll see a pretty strong team out. I would like to see some of the younger and newer boys get a run out, especially Gueye, who I thought looked really good in pre-season - along with Coleman. However, If we go out of the Carling Cup at the first hurdle, then it'll officially be another disastrous start to a season. Huddersfield, won't be push-overs either, and we can't underestimate them. Too many times over recent years have we come up against supposedly weaker opposition in the cups and been dumped out. I think it'll be a close, scrappy game, and am going for a 1-0 win to the home side.
  13. Just wanted to say before I forget, I could hear the boo-boys giving it to Pienaar on one occasion, but I hope people saw that he did give a lot today, he was always tracking back and put in a few good tackles in and around the box, and then was looking to get forward. Other than that, Hibbert did well (for a Hibbert performance), Billy had some good touches, but then also had some bad ones, should have scored in the first half but ballooned it. Beckford, I thought, did ok on his full debut, but still has a lot to learn. I think Wolves came out stronger in the second half, and tried to bully us, and I don't think we like it when teams do that (as Blackburn did last week). Disappointed with yet again another slow start from our boys.
  14. FFS. Utter f'n ridiculous second half. As soon as they equalised, I knew we'd get nothing more than a point from this game. And I know it's early doors, but I've lost confidence in this team doing anything special this season. Even if we play like we did in the first half, we've still got a major, major problem - we've got absolutely no goal threat. Beckford is unproven, Saha is playing crap these days and, the Yak can't even make the bench. ok, we've got a midfield which will potentially get goals between them, but between Cahill, Arteta, Felli, Peinaar and Ossie, I can't see more then 20-25 - not enough! Don't get me wrong, we played some really nice football in the first half, but still we didn't have many clear cut chances on goal. Probably, Moyes is gonna come out and say, "We played well, but (Wolves) are a well organised side and we need to do better", or something similar. Bollocks! Our problem, as always, is that we lack pace and real goal threat. I know, we've got a decent team with decent players, and at times we play some really nice football. But football is about scoring goals, and frankly it's something we really struggle to do.
  15. Hate to say this, but I can see them goin on to win this. We've been crap since half time and worse since Saha came on.
  16. Please please, don't let them get a second!!!
  17. FFS, we lost concentration there I think, sloppy play resulted in an stupid (but well taken) equaliser. Come on, we can still win this one. EDIT: Can't beleive (though I should) that we can play so well in the first half and so sloppy in the second.
  18. Was just about to write, we need to get another, cos they seem to be getting a bit too much of the ball.. and... ffs!
  19. Good first half, enjoyed that very much. Glad we got a goal though. Maybe a controversial goal from Cahill, but as Mike said, "Justice" in the end cos the foul on Arteta was clearly in the box.
  20. That's inside the box!!!
  21. Getting a bit frustrated now, we've played some good football, but we're just missing the goal. I hope we got one before half time, just to settle my stomach
