I don't think anyone was right it wrong. He wasn't good enough last season. It wasn't that he was always good enough but played badly. He didn't have the control and didn't use his body correctly..... And he recognised this. He practised where he needed to and to his enormous credit he had improved. Some people guessed correctly. Some got it wrong...me. But why are we still talking about it now? In all the threads I have been reading recently even Haf has been giving him great credit. If that's not admitting you have been proved wrong then I Idon't know what is. I suggest Haf and blue take this to private chat and let this thread get back to being about Lukaku and not proving Haf wrong. He deserves it. Great player and long may it last.

To be fair I also had his touch wrote off. Couldn't be more happy to be so wrong this season. But I agreed with Haf at the time. I thought he would get a little better but not much. Happily I look a fool now :-)

Well RM missed Ilton signing ME! Last night I dislocated my elbow...popped out completely. Missus pleaded with me to retire after this one at 42....Looks like all I can do is watch from now on. Sorry Bill.

I think I am alone here haha but I was watching him thinking, wow he's turned a corner. Very solid on the ball and pushed it forward much more than usual. He still tried to hard to be safe at times, but that will slowly grow out of him as he realises his ability. For me I agree that he showed a lot of maturity in that deep position. He just needs to let go of his inhibitions when going forward now

I also liked Besic running up to him and pointing at him to tell him "well done for getting out of it but get your head on" or at least that's what it looked like to me. You don't point your Di get in someone's face to say...your brilliant, Well done. Future captain Besic.

One thing to note is that Howard wasn't required to make any saves other than balls straight at him. They hit the post and the bar but didn't really test our keeper other than that. Lloris made a couple of pretty good saves, one a top class save from Besic. But then both Lukaku and Ali probably should have made more of a cross each. Barkleys effort at the end could also have gone in. Best second half from us on a long time.

Made a flap at a punch out. Other than that he only had shots straight at gim to deal with. Hard to judge.

Yep I was thinking the same. We didn't have much on the left and he would have gave them real issues.

Lukaku. Worked his socks of today and used his strength well. Besic would have had it if he had 44 minutes. Awesome performance from him. Hope that's a sign of things to come.

He's hardly tamed him haha. Lukaku is having a good game, just hasn't had the chances to score yet due to service to him. I think k he jas shown his strength today though.
