I agree with you. But that's not me. I thought about it...Stones is capable. Alcaraz struggles to stay fit. So with the extra games in Europe, I don't think we have enough at CB. We need one more reliable solid player. Doesn't need to be a world beater, but reliable is a must.

Not sure? First 2 games we owned the game first for 45 minutes then for 60-70 minutes. What happened there was tiredness. As said by a few...questionable fitness. Against Chelsea. A different scenario really. We fell 2 behind real quick so the only viable option was to go at them. In this scenario, you'd expect your wingers to be pushing on. And it was effective. The problem being that defensively we had a shocker. And again we looked knackered...but that's less surprising as we had to put a lot into it after the shit start. Why would Martinez change tactics after having a successful last season?

After being wrecked 6-3 (although I think Chelsea are going to give out a load of thumping this season), every game is important. I'm not a fan of treating the League Cup with disdain. I can understand some of the reasons behind teams doing it, for example if you are chasing the league and European cup. But, for example, Man Utd the other night? Why do that? They have no European games etc. The League Cup is a way into Europe. Plus we have never won it. So I like us to try!!! All league games are important. What's more important is that we get some confidence and fight back into our defensive play.

Martinez was disappointed after the game. He said we defended to soft and to concede so many is not natural. We must improve. He ain't turning a blind eye to it, which is good.
