High profile Spurs absentees: Jermain Defoe, Aaron Lennon, Jonathan Woodgate, Ledley King, Luka Modric, Giovanni Dos Santons and Niko Kranjcar Edited October 27, 2009 by Grarghsies
chicagoblue
So, -----------Howard------------ Neill-Heitinga--Distin-Hibbo Gosling-Rodwell-Fellaini-Jo ------------Cahill---------- ---------Saha--------------- Or something like that with Cahill and Fellaini interchanging. Maybe Yak in for Saha if Yak is fully fit, don't want to burn Saha out. At least we'll have a striker on the bench. MikeO
Yakubu returns to Everton's starting XI for the clash with Spurs. The Nigerian striker missed the 3-2 defeat at Bolton with a bruised heel but he's back to start the Carling Cup clash at White Hart Lane, with Jo dropping to the bench. Otherwise, the side remains unchanged from the Reebok Stadium clash. It means David Moyes is now without ten first team players because of the ongoing injury crisis on Merseyside. The back four remains the same as two days ago, with Tony Hibbert, John Heitinga and Sylvain Distin joined by Lucas Neill who makes only his second start for the Toffees. Youngsters Jack Rodwell and Dan Gosling continue in midfield alongside Marouane Fellaini and skipper Tim Cahill. Up front Yakubu is partnered by the prolific Louis Saha, the ex-Middlesbrough man returning to the scene of the serious Achilles injury that struck him down last season.
