MikeO
Was going to say the big question was... "Having moved into second place will Johnny H have enough games left to close the 67 point gap on Mo to take our player of the season?" Question now is going to be if he'll be fit for the run-in . MikeO
What happened to him? I'm not watching you see. Neither was I....just going on Yankee's post in the match thread and the fact that he came off injured. Hope it's nothing serious.
StevO
looked to be either an ankle or foot injury, clumsy challenge really. season ending draw in my opinion, once again we cant see out a win. feels like we've lost a game today. jcrawfor
Can't say Villa didn't deserve a point from that; they looked equally likely to score all match. It's too bad Rodwell didn't find Saha on their late break and that Pip couldn't find the inside of the post. All in all I'm not terribly disappointed with the result. Would be much happier with 3 points but we're still on course to finish with more points than last year...so it's not all bad. Howard- 8 made some crucial early saves and did well otherwise. Neville- 7.5 One of his better games...he cut out some of the long balls and had some neat touches. Distin- 7 at fault for the first goal but solid otherwise Jags- 7 at fault for the second, not his best showing. Baines 8 beautiful cross for TC's first. Pienaar 8 some brilliant balls to a clumbsy Yak. Also, good to see him stay on after Young's attack on his kids. Osman 7.5 too selfish sometime, but nice to see an attacking streak in him. Bily 6 should have had the opener. still too lightweight for me. Cahill 9 immense game. Settled nicely into heitinga's role once rodders came on. Beautiful headers. Rodwell 7.5 good half of football from him, can't wait for next year. Heitinga 7.5 did well enough in the 1st 45. hope it's nothing serious. Yakubu 6 ran a lot. horrid control and didn't have any service. Saha 7 no real chance but he controlled nicely and made some pretty runs. ...almost forgot? Yobo 5 was he even on the pitch? CraccerC
poor performance but yakubu for me, put in a good shift
jcrawfor
poor performance but yakubu for me, put in a good shift you're joking. yak may have run around a bunch but he couldn't handle even the most perfect balls from baines, pienaar or anyone for that matter. CraccerC
i am indeed joking, by the way i thought your ratings were far too generous
jcrawfor
fair, for sure. probably should have waited a few more hours to look back.... bily wasn't his best (who really knows what that is?) I do stand by my ratings of cahill, neville, howard and rodwell though. felt they were all significant to us blues staying in the match. I do stand by my ratings of cahill, neville, howard and rodwell though. felt they were all significant to us blues staying in the match. im not howards biggest fan, and i don't think he had a marvellous game, the goal wasn't brilliant. and i don't think any of our back 4 players brilliantly, baines put over a good ball but villa were allowed to ping crosses in all game long. i also dont think yo ucan give a 7.5 for 45 minutes of football without being substantially good, heitinga and rodwell, did alright, but nothing more. also 7s for players you consider to be at fault. actually that's made me realise maybe your ratings base is different to mine (im being serious here not a dick btw), what are you giving a player as default? im using 6. basing off 6, 7 would suggest a good solid game for me, which a mistake leading to a goal would pretty much void in my book. 8 being a great contribution and good performance, 9 being fantastic, 10 being flawless and therefore pretty much impossible. barryj
Was the Bily vote a joke? I thought that was the worst performance from an Everton player this season!
jcrawfor
I'm giving a 7 as an average performance. Both CBs made a mistake, but I don't see that as wrecking the other 89:30 of play. I really though Distin and Jags put in a 7. Would have to say I'd take a point off of what I wrote for Bily, Yak, and Baines.
inertia8
I gave it to Cahill, scored two brilliant headers and did well to fall into the gap left by Johnny. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but didn't the commentator say after Cahill's first goal that he as equal with Peter Crouch for most headers in the Premier League? So.. with his 2nd that make him the most prolific scorer of headed goals??? I cannot find the stats and must goto work... someone should ask Martin Tyler in his Sky Sports blog thingy
