Romey 1878
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/may/26/premier-league-uefa-financial-fair-play A few of our top clubs could struggle, leaving the door open for other teams to get into the Top 4 perhaps? Lowensda
I quite like rule. Would make everything very interested, the European competition would get stronger as a result and German teams would be power houses in the comp. Smaller countries may have a better opportunity in europe aswell, possibly giving more variety!? I might be a minrity but i think its good, will put us in better sted than most teams
james_clarke
sounds like a good ruling but surely these rich money men will find some way around this, also how would everton fare with these new rules. do we actually make a profit or are we subsidised in any way
MikeO
....how would everton fare with these new rules. do we actually make a profit or are we subsidised in any way To March 31st 2009 the figure was a £6.9m loss. Hopefully the sale of Lescott will make the next figues a bit more healthy, but even so those losses are small in comparison to many. I doubt it will make much difference seeing as we bought players with that money. The only differences will be seen if City gave us money up front and we paid for our players over a set number of months, or vice versa I guess... Maybe so but the Cup final money will add a bit and we had a few Europa games which possibly will come into it depending when that gets paid. Louis
This rule doesn't look good for EFC. We've made something like 10 losses in the past 12 years..
DonKey
We should be fine. The article mentions something about 30m euro losses. Don't think we're anywhere near that looking at the graph. It will affect those clubs with wealthy owners splashing the cash for their new plaything.
pete0
There's a wage exclusion for this year, and then stadium development and youth development costs never included. The Fair Play rules are already in place, but any punishment wouldnt be until 2014.
