Matt
Ossie has deserved that the last few games. Arteta is looking much better on the wing too
Bailey
Well we have scored, not sure how but Osman has done it. We picked out by Arteta and terrible defending from Newcastle... Looks like both teams cant defend
Steve_E
I'm liking Arteta better on the wing than in the middle.

smeghead1
Keep getting the ball to that player in Osmans shirt! Arteta looks a different player on the wing aswell! Come on lads.
Bailey
We are all over the place defensively... The score could so easily be the other way round.
Kohen
So what have we learnt from the first half? Both teams can't defend and we can't clear the ball! There has been some good play though, so hopefully we can cut out the stupid mistakes and push on for the 3 points!
Steve_E
Arteta, Osman and Saha been very good so far. Tioté has been for them as well. Believe he was linked to us in the summer and he was rather cheap. Too bad we really have no money at all.
marcopaulo
Ossie has deserved that the last few games. Peter H
Everton defence is in a right mess. Needs to shape up. Arteta looking really good today. Osman to. Becks needs to shape up or get off the pitch.

Bailey
I think Newcastle and the scoreline flatter us. We havent been good but scored 2 and they have been as bad and created havoc in the set pieces or pretty much whenever a ball goes in/near the box. Osman has done a decent job on the right, but nothing to write home about imo and when Arteta has got on the ball he has done well but I still think he is wasted out there. I dont know why Arteta is prepared to go forward and attack when playing as a LW but not when he is in the centre? Neville and Rodwell have been anonymous in the midfield, and the back line doesnt look like they have played together before. Also Saha has done quite well but Beckford has been useless and doesnt even look that interested which is the biggest dissapointment for me. However to play poorly and be 2-1 up makes a change! MikeO
We could score six here if we keep going forward....but then we could concede six if we keep defending like we are. (Is Leon Osman the least scary skinhead in history ?)
marcopaulo
Im with matt. I think osman has been playing well lately. a few people have said that aswell..i'm the only one who thinks he's been shit i think..today he's been quality though and that's playin on the right too which is a surprise

Which for me points out he is wasted in the middle. His best seasons, and some of Evertons in general, have been when he played on the right wing. He just seems so much happier there. Not the best game ive seen, by a long way, but at the moment we need to win any way possible.

Not the best game ive seen, by a long way, but at the moment we need to win any way possible. To me it points to the fact his mentality isnt the same (or not allowed to be the same) when he is in the middle. Arteta should be allowed roam when we have the ball and break forward and let Fellaini (when he is fit) sit back and clear any counters. He has the potential to show this brilliance from the centre (which he has) and do it consistently for 90minutes, whereas out wide we see him 3-4 times in a half and this is a game where Newcastle have been shite. I dont mind him playing wide as long as he can contribute but for me he is too good to wasted out wide.
Steve_E
He probably just has more space on the wing than in the centre so naturally gets into better positions more often.
