Lowensda
I don't live in Liverpool and I won't claim to know what's happening within the area, so this may be a complete no go. With the takeover in mind, I was thinking of potential ground moves and sites etc. Can anyone update me on any potential developments on the Clarence Graving Dock site (on Regents Road), where the Drive in Cinema is, on that brown site? (http://s0.geograph.org.uk/geophotos/02/06/28/2062811_64d47527.jpg) I know that the Titanic Hotel was finished last year on Stanley dock, with the Tobacco warehouse going under a MASSIVE transformation into apartments and another hotel etc. Wouldn't the brown site area at CGD be a fantastic alternative to the old King's Dock failure? I know the titanic hotel is now putting up away teams as opponents to both Everton and Liverpool, so they wouldn't have to go far! The council are actively regenerating that area, especially concentrating on the Stanley Dock as mentioned, what if the new guys came in and could fund a new stadium, would CGD be a good location? There's plenty of room, some fantastic history in that area (especially Stanley dock etc) and there's a great wall that lines the area, with Robert Tower'esque gates lining the entrance ways (https://c2.staticflickr.com/8/7437/13967125541_f748ecc135_b.jpg). IF the site isn't being used currently and the regeneration scheme in the area doesn't quite have the plans for that particular site, the Kings Dock design etc could certainly be used in that area. Again, I don't know it's current situation as i'm not local but if there is, it's a no go anyway. Be great if the new guys do look at it as a viable option though. Leave the Halton Hall park, too many spoon whittlers, lets use an area that needs (and is undergoing) restoration. Just found our original talks on it - http://www.toffeetalk.com/index.php?/topic/14568-waterfront-stadium/?p=145197 http://www.toffeetalk.com/index.php?/topic/19133-clarence-dock-stadium-plan/?p=190790 Edited January 27, 2016 by Lowensda
