MikeO
Here's a nice article for long standing Ossie fans and recent converts.. >>>OSSIE FOR ENGLAND<<< Someone else doing the Trevor Steven comparison...so it's not just me . xavier
''If he maintains his form, and if McClaren is to be believed, it won’t be long before Osman pushes for a place in the England squad. Although there may be a tendency to compare Osman with other fringe midfielders such as Manchester City’s Barton, Bolton’s Nolan, Newcastle’s Parker or Tottenham’s Jenas, Osman in fact offers something extra perhaps even to challenge Chelsea’s Lampard or Liverpool’s Gerrard.'' This part made me laugh. Sorry.
Romey 1878
Osman isnt good enough for England, it's as simple as that.
Ian
I really rate ossie, I think hes a class little player, and RS i know have changed their opinions of him since seing him. I can't see him gettin into the starting 11 but I think on the form hes shown he should be in the squad.
GoldfishMemory
I'm an Ossie fan and I think a huge majority of Evertonians massivly underate him, on current form he deserves a shot methinks.
Romey 1878
Dont get me wrong I like Ossie, I think he's a good little player for us but he's jsut not good enough to oust any member of the England midfield
Mac
Not good enough by a f*cking mile, I like the boy, but there is no way on the planet he is good enough for England. ATB Mac
thebluenose
would it be ever so harmful to give him 20 mins. if he doesnt make the grade ok but if he does. well i certainly think he can. so come on lads if jenas could get in the squad. sure as hell ossie can. and is 20 mins surely too much asking???? Cloud
Osman isnt good enough for England, it's as simple as that. 48730 Agreed. Good player, but i feel the size of him and j=his weight lets him down tbh. But yeh good player i like him but no good enough! but if the call comes i will be backing him! Bill
Its his lack of any pace that lets him down. A good little player and i like him, but if i was manager of England, he wouldnt be in my squad.
StevO
if there was a "B" team then yes, but not for the first

Rob W
I think Ossie is a great player, def the most underrated player at Everton. I would think he should be on the finges of the England squad but hes never going to oust Lampard or Gerrard from their spot
RuffRob
The biggest thing that lets Ossie down is his stature, and I am afraid he can't do anything about - his ability in a bigger frame would make him a very good player, perhaps a excellent player and indeed pushing for a England call up. But I am afraid a good big'n is always going to be better than a good littl'n.
Bill
"The biggest thing that lets Ossie down is his stature" "But I am afraid a good big'n is always going to be better than a good littl'n." ................. I can't agree with you on this one Rob. i have'nt seen that many good Big'uns, but i've seen lots of good little'uns. I think its just a lack of pace that lets him down. And you would never say that to Bobby Collins or Alan Ball, and remain standing for long. Edited September 6, 2006 by Licker
Romey 1878
hes better than jermaine fuckin jenas 48826 Thats true but how often do you actually see Jenas play England? Not very often.
aaron
Thats true but how often do you actually see Jenas play England? Not very often. 48846 thing is if the first teamers are lets say all out injured he gets the nod, i know what you mean but i think ossie should take jenas's place, training with england will only encourage him more to play even better and hopefully break into the team as hard as that would be like.
