RuffRob Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 Just wondering about the players available on free transfers this summer. We all know Sidwell is available - but is likley to go to Chelsea or Newcastle. What about Mark Viduka - He bagged in 19 goals this season. He is well experienced and still cuts the mustart when it comes to bagging in the goals. Now I know he's not exactly one for the future - but we have those in Victor and Vaughan. He may be a good player to bring in to cover for 18 months while our two youngster mature a little more. Any thoughts on bringing him in for free to just give a bit more strength in depth in the forward department? He has also had plenty of european experience. I would guess he would love to have another season in Europe, so we may be quite and attractive option. I for one wouldn't complain if Viduka came to the club for bugger all transfer fee. Waht do you think? Hasselbank is also available on a free, but I would think he is well past his prime, same goes for Robbie Fowler. does anybody know of other players that are out of contract this summer. Quote
aaron Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 saviola but we havent got a chance really with him distain is a ok defender, good cover flamini is a good midfeilder. Quote
Guest blueboy122 Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 I wud take all of them Viduka Saviola Flamini Distin but i would not take hasselbank i dont think although he does have lots of european experience. Dunny the Blue Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 Id love Mark Viduka here, Ithink he's great striker, especially for free!! Quote
aaron Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 jimmy ffloyd (will) "takeustothebank" he would want too much wages for his standerds, hes shite, lets look else where imo. 2 goals in total for charlton. Quote
Everton_Worshiper Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 They are ageing strikers, why on earth would you want them at Everton??????????????? Viduka NO (Beatties cousin by the looks of things) Hasselbank NO (A "used to be great") Distin Maybe (Need some more cenre backs) Quote
Zed Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 I have mixed emmotions really as far as Viduka is concerned, the others are a definate no no, but I think Viduka could add something to the squad, but on the other hand Walter smiths aging army is still fresh in my mind Quote
Foxon Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 They are ageing strikers, why on earth would you want them at Everton??????????????? Viduka NO (Beatties cousin by the looks of things) Hasselbank NO (A "used to be great") Distin Maybe (Need some more cenre backs) are u serious viduka got 19 goals this season he was boro's highest goal scorer beattie got 2 Quote
Dunny the Blue Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 Exactly, why on earth WOULDNT we want him here if he can stick 19 in a season away??? He's only 31 which isnt too old at all. Thierry Henrys coming up 30, you gona tell me he's past it aswell?????? Quote
Noel Edmonds Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 viduka yes, flamini yes, distin yes Agreed. Viduka is one of most talented strikers in prem, is jus let down by his fitness nowadays. Also, talking of frees. J'lloyd Samuel, half decent, young and wud be good cover for both full back positions. Quote
StevO Posted May 16, 2007 Report Posted May 16, 2007 viduka yes, flamini absofuckinlutely! not sure of distin, dont know much about him Quote
irishtoffee Posted May 16, 2007 Report Posted May 16, 2007 Viduka is a fantastic striker in my opinion, he has a great record in the premiership with leeds and boro always got goals. From what i believe he is a good mate of tiny's so maybe a good word from him. Quote
aaron Posted May 23, 2007 Report Posted May 23, 2007 (edited) cross off distain, signed for pompy on a 3 year deal today. billy jones i believe is a free, decent defender, young and english worth a go. Edited May 23, 2007 by Everton Lad Quote
sheedysheedysheedy Posted May 23, 2007 Report Posted May 23, 2007 are u serious viduka got 19 goals this season he was boro's highest goal scorer beattie got 2 Strange how he always seems to turn it on just before his contract is up though. Don't want him!! Quote
RuffRob Posted May 24, 2007 Author Report Posted May 24, 2007 Strange how he always seems to turn it on just before his contract is up though. Don't want him!! Absolute rubbish http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/shared/bsp/hi...iduka_33105.stm 19 goals in 37 games this season - 42 goals in 101 for Middlesbrogh 207 goals in 427 career I would hardly say this season was a one off. StevO Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 not far away from 1 in 2 consistantly a good performer Quote
Guest blueboy122 Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 would love mark viduka here he is on a free so no need to spend money. the only down side mite be his wages but still i would get him. then we can use the money elsewere like midfeild maybe?? i have noticed this season that alot of good players are out of contract Quote
Heather_6 Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 i'd like viduka but i heard from other blues that saviola is better? true? Quote
Everton_Worshiper Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 No way to Viduka! Nugent (20), Vaughan (18/19), Anchiebe (18), Johnson (26). We do not need ageing strikers, certainly one that is not athletic! And as for him being Boro's top striker, who else is going to get their goals..? Quote
Nitrix Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 i now hes getting on a bit but on a free id definatley take viduka Quote
aaron Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 saviola is going to sign for juve. Rule JLloyd Samual off the list, hes Joing Bolton, pompy also signed Hiridesson(spelling) on a free from charlton today. Quote
robmccombie Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 i don't see why everton dont send there scouts out to look at decent youngsters across europe, surely they can attract good young players from spain or italy?and get them on the cheap! Quote
Blue4Ever Posted May 28, 2007 Report Posted May 28, 2007 ^^ Agree, Distan is class but he will go to pompy I think unless he already has. Viduka does get goals but he is to lazy id rather have Vaughany on who will run and run all game. Quote
chuky_r_law Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 i seem to remember flamini being roumoured with us before he went to arsenal. maybe moyes might rekindle his interest in him?? Quote
