why were talking keepers. ours was shit today. indesisive all game. at fault for second goal. only save wad point blank at him, didnt realise where the ball was. ive said it before and i'll say it again, he's a liability. he is outstanding then shocking. that to me is a liability...... and shave the beard!

Pint half empty, pint half full, comes to mind. I know the game would have been out of reach if Allen would have slotted, but he didn't and it was built up by another flukey bobble through our defence... We also had numerous chances tokill them off. At least these chances were created chances by good build up play.

rodgers says " i was unhappy with us playing too many long balls".......hahahaha oh how the tables have turned... more possession, better chances, better play... big up for roberto and his newbee.
 
gutted we lost it at the end, cant go through a game like that again, gotta tighten up at the back on set pieces and be more dominant in the air.. pretty much pleased with everything else.
 
if mirralas played like he does in derbies for every other game, we'd win the title.
 
so happy that we havnt played smaller teams off the park to revert to type when the bigger teams come. really played them off the park at times.

this has nothing to do with this thread, but is anybody getting slightly pissed with everyone cumming over southampton... we also have three english internationals in our first team, an excellent youth setup, spent far less than this club and never got relegated in the meantime....yet nothing is ever said about us but saints are supposidly a role model for other teams in the premiership at the moment.

I love the way everyone was not expecting anything this season due to transitions.... Ten games later we are giving down the banks to a team that is be point off second place.....get a grip lads!.... People say we are lucky. Please tell me again what happened in this fixture last year...... I think some people would be happy with us playing like barca and bottom of the league.... We ride our luck like the red shite have for years... About time too.

Does anyone think that maybe we were under the cosh in the second half against Newcastle and just got outplayed in both halves against city..... He can't single handedly drag the team into there penalty area.

Just a word on Lukaku v Newcastle... The reason why he became non existent in the second half was because every player decided not to get him involved...check it out again and you will see.

I am really suprised that there wasn't a host of clubs waiting for mccarthy... He does his role that well any top four would look better with him in there.

The feeling that I get is if we look after McCarthy he will look after Everton and could see him staying as long as osman but with far more impact... He could become a great here.

Feel really sorry for him.... Especially due to him only just going back on international duty.... He'll come back stronger.... It's just good to see that RM was right on the ball by banging on about more depth in the squad.
