Not in the squad.. Howard, Nash, Neville, Baines, Jagielka, Senderos, Distin, Heitinga, Pienaar, Osman, Arteta, Bilyaletdinov, Donovan, Rodwell, Gosling, Saha, Vaughan, Yakubu, Anichebe.
  2. Leighton is in....so is Warnock. And Ryan Shawcross .
  3. I'll pass on the link....can't watch stuff like that. Very sad.
  4. The Chinese cost us (effectively) nothing; Arnoux has never played so how can you judge (and cost nothing anyway); Jo we didn't buy; Castillo and Gardner were purely cover, never going to be first choices; Bosnar and da Silva were cheap (free?) punts that didn't pay off; Kilbane played more than 100 games and wasn't that bad; we didn't buy Jeffers; Plessis cost nothing; Rodrigo the same I think. Said? McFadden played more than 100 games for us, did a decent job at times and we made a 400% profit when we sold him on.
  5. Bad result for us made a bit more bearable by it being a worse one for Liverpool .
  6. This would be my list....be interested to see yours . Yobo, Arteta, Cahill, Lescott, Stubbs, Neville, Yakubu, Baines, Jagielka, Pienaar, Howard, Fellaini, Saha, Heitinga. Wright (but Wenger made the same mistake), Kroldrup (got most of the money back), Davies (again recouped money), McFadden (made good profit though), Beattie (debatable, top scorer one year and again got most of the money back), Johnson (again debatable, didn't live up to hopes but we sold him on for a profit), VDM (fair cop). Jury still out on some (Billy, Distin). Those are his most significant signings I think (probably missed some)....record stands up against anyone for me. Posted elsewhere but bears repeating...from The Guardian after the United game... "This has been a transformation as comprehensive as Arsène Wenger's refashioning of the lingering George Graham era: eight years ago in Moyes's first game in charge he picked a midfield of Tony Hibbert, Lee Carsley, Scot Gemmill and Thomas Gravesen. On Saturday his midfield was made up entirely of neat, skilful ball-players, three of whom were 5ft 7in or under. Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, Steven Pienaar, Leon Osman and Mikel Arteta more than matched the visitors for invention. Add the injured Marouane Fellaini and Tim Cahill and Everton have arguably the best midfield in the country (perhaps behind only Chelsea)."
  7. Wanted this one ages back (just after the 3-0 over Liverpool)....bit late now .
  8. Dead easy really....used this site.. http://www.gifninja.com/ConvertVideoToGif.aspx Says the initial video needs to be about four seconds long but it then slows it down....so what I did was take eight seconds of Ossie scoring and double speed in on Movie Maker...then the transfer process slowed it down again to what looks like real time .
  9. Players Bar in the County Road might show it http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/place?sourceid=navclient&rlz=1T4ACAW_enGB358GB356&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=players+bar+liverpool&fb=1&gl=uk&hq=players+bar&hnear=liverpool&cid=16686630536387963338 I watched a Fulham Europa game in there before the Benfica match .
  10. Just found out how to do these...well chuffed. First attempt doesn't work very well because it needs to be a closer up image I think, and it's far too big a file to use as an avatar but it's a start...
  11. "A key part of next season's ticket pricing structure is the re-introduction of six premium fixtures. This was in place for the 2000/01 Season at an additional cost of £18. Ten years later we will return to a premium on six fixtures but at a reduced cost of £17." I guess what they're saying is that in recent years they've not taken account of the inclusion of premium games when working out the prices, and that the last time they did that (in 00/01) it resulted in the prices being £18 more than they would otherwise have been....an extra £3 for each game. This time they're only charging an extra £2.83 for each premium game . That's the only way I can make sense of it....but it's a pointless and confusing bit of waffle and justification if you ask me (I'd say "spin" but I hate the use of the word in that context ).
  12. Was at the Spectrum in December iggy....watching the basketball as I said earlier in the thread. Never thought of having a look at Guildford City round the back? Low level I know....seems like they're trying to move to Slyfield Green (again...they tried forty years ago).

Amazed that this hasn't been started yet....maybe everyone still a little dazed and confused after Thursday. I have no idea what will happen...the team seem to be suffering from multiple personality disorder so who knows which version will turn up. I'd be tempted to take a draw....could live with that. Seven points from Feb would have been beyond our wildest dreams after the derby....nine would be better .
  14. Some? One I think you'll find. And milky's always been a bit eccentric in his views (to put it politely).
  15. Liverpool and United were premium games this season....£4.00 extra per ticket.
  16. Plainly a joke vote and as such cancelled. Senderos one is a bit sus also....anyone want to justify it? Didn't want to give it to anyone last night but on reflection Howard can have it. He deserves more than he's had this season anyway.

From the BBC report... "It was far from the humiliation that the Toffees suffered on their previous visit to Lisbon - the 5-0 drubbing at Benfica earlier in the competition...." It was worse for me because the expectation was so much higher. Not been this depressed about a "performance" for a long time. Wretched. Beyond understanding. I played sport at highish levels many years back and I know that sometimes things don't quite click into place as well as they do at others. But you should still have a basic level of ability and competence. I just don't understand .

What happened to this? '...a spectacular 3-1 win over Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday has left the Blues full of confidence and Moyes has promised there will be no change in approach ahead of a landmark night in Lisbon. "We will play the same way," he said at his pre-match press conference.'

This is beyond tragic. How can the team that beat Chelsea and United be so damn poor? I'm at a loss for words.

    Not strictly accurate . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_Jagielka

    Was there last June....incredible place.
  24. Great result for Fulham....got that one wrong .

Yup, it's over. Without taking tonight for granted looks like the easier option on paper. Galatasaray are top of their league while Atletico are 13th in Spain.
