  1. It wouldn't be on the OS if it wasn't certain... "Everton is delighted contract negotiations with both Joseph Yobo and Phil Jagileka have now been successfully concluded and both players will sign new five-year deals with the Club imminently." Pretty unambiguous that! Good news .
  2. Chelsea have cancelled their open top bus parade on the 31st because it'd cost them £250,000 to cancel it if they lose. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport...ory-parade.html (apologies for linking the S*n) Seems a bit daft....it's only a couple of weeks wages for John Terry . Do we know what Everton's prospective plans are?
  3. Robert Elstone has dismissed renewed calls from City Council leader Warren Bradley for further discussion over a shared stadium with neighbours Liverpool. Cllr Bradley believes the city’s efforts to be part of England’s bid to host the World Cup in 2018 or 2022 will benefit from the Merseyside clubs joining forces to build one new stadium. Elstone reckons it is a “transparent” attempt to put pressure on Everton’s planned move to Kirkby while insisting sharing the proposed new stadium on Stanley Park “is not an option”. “To me it’s about clutching at straws,” he said. “It’s about anything but Kirkby. Twelve months ago it was all about the Loop, six months ago it was about the redevelopment of Goodison. “We knock the Loop over, we knock the redevelopment of Goodison over, so the next straw to clutch is the shared stadium. “It’s a very transparent strategy, if you were generous enough to call it a strategy. It’s all about keeping Everton out of Kirkby and not about progress for this football club. “The people who don’t want Kirkby are just intent on throwing anything on to the table that can try and deflect us from what I believe is a very strong proposition. “The reality is that the proposed stadium on Stanley Park to my knowledge is going to cost in excess of £400million. If Liverpool Football Club came to us and said ‘we’d like a 50-50 partnership, you need to find £200m’, this football club couldn’t find that. “We’ve been asked to find £78m for Kirkby, which will be challenging but we believe it’s deliverable. To find a further £122m to go into a shared stadium is not an option.” Elstone added: “As far as I can see, a shared stadium is not deliverable. The people who don’t want us to go to Kirkby are shying from one key word which is deliverability, within which I’d mention affordability. “Kirkby’s costing and funding strategies are not set in stone but they are sufficiently solid to give the club confidence that it can deliver it. None of the others have any solidity. “I suspect many of those against the Kirkby move wouldn’t have a problem if it was a few hundred metres over the city boundary, which to me underlines the flimsiness of their case. How can a few hundred metres mean so much?”
  4. I think.....given Alex's poor grasp of spelling....that what he meant to say is that he has a sauce inside Goodison. He's a tomato ketchup salesman .
  5. Must be the pain from his bandaged knuckles .
  6. What's your source Phil? Good chance/small chance? Final ballot closed one and a half hours ago. So now we wait...and pray just a little .
  7. Thought about moving this to the Rumours section but it's not the right place and sadly we don't have a section for psychologically impaired members. So I think it's best left here for people to laugh at .
  8. Perfectly good Bremen goal disallowed right at the end though. Should have gone to penalties.
  9. Clever. And no copyright issues .
  10. Rebooting this. I'm reading Human Traces by Sebastian Faulks. He's supposedly brilliant but I've never got on with his stuff before though I've tried. This, however, is superb....if a bit disturbing.
  11. He's not been dropped ever as far as I can remember, and I don't believe for a minute that if he and Lescott are playing well and keeping clean sheets that Jags will walk straight back into the team. Just won't happen.
  12. Noddy's Shane's cousin mate, drop him a pm. His dad's been on a couple of times also...as "finnharps," you could try him as well . http://www.toffeetalk.com/forums/index.php?showuser=6909
  13. Don't believe a word of it. He's the man in possession of the place, he'll start next season as first choice due to Jag's injury and if he performs he'll stay in. To guarantee himself first team football he'd have to drop a level. Why would he do that? Silly season crap guesswork journalism of the first degree.
  14. No chance of getting one from the club I wouldn't have thought. Probably be some floating around next week that people will have applied for as back up in case they don't get Wembley tickets. As I understand it only the Bullens will be open. No idea because they've not publicised the amount of tickets in the last two ballots...so it could be 1 in 5, 1 in 10, 1 in 25 or 1 in 100. Your guess is as good as mine .
  15. Thought she was crackling personally .
  16. The man with the two minute Everton career....now at Barnsley? Don't remember United and Real after him though , unless it was Scunthorpe United and Real Skegness .
  17. Great news! Good luck to him....always nice to get another full international at the club .

    Fulham (away)

You and most of the (neutral) country matey . I just hope it's a good game on Sunday, would be nice to finish on a high, and that the results nationwide result in... Us in fifth Fulham seventh Newcastle down Most of all though...no injuries. Then everyone can celebrate. Have to be honest and admit to tipping a home win in the Anusol .
  19. Lived and worked in Wimbledon for a long time Jim and my work local was on the walk from the tube to Plough Lane. Every Saturday lunchtime when there was a game on against a Northern team it was the same chorus of disbelief at the price of a pint . And every time I came up to Liverpool I thought I was getting too much change . Is the price differential still there?
  20. Might have won Rangers the title though, Aberdeen playing for 70+ minutes in a game they only lost by one goal. If there was any justice they'd get a points deduction...fines and bans are irrelevant.
  21. Longer version than the one shown on TV . Good spot Louis.
  22. Was in Tesco's just now and saw a woman looking at the new "Shea Butter" infused Andrex toilet paper. Marlon Brando in "Last Tango in Paris" sprung to mind for some reason . Bizarrly Andrex are also launching Shea Butter infused knickers....honest....with Liz McClarnon fronting the campaign . http://www.marketingmagazine.co.uk/news/90...ed-shea-butter/
  23. Was a great day! Watford fans were sound as well, brilliant atmosphere. Two standout memories (other than the obvious elation), really surprised when the second goal stood....thought for sure it was going to be disallowed....and quiet terror every time John Barnes got the ball, he was only twenty but he was their one real threat. Special player (until he went to Liverpool ).
  24. “I’d like to think so (that something might happen). Obviously if I had not got injured, discussions might have been a whole lot easier in the summer. "The ball is in their court now and there’s not much I can do. I can’t perform for a few months but if it’s a case of me committing my future, there is no issue with that." After receiving the main Player of the Season award - voted for by the fans - the former Sheffield United man explained why Everton is the place for him. “If they want to do that (offer a contract), it’s not going to take very long to sort out,” said the centre-back. “The fans, the staff, the players – everything about the club suits me to a tee. “Hopefully I can come back a similar player, if not even better, and it will still suit me for as long as the gaffer or anyone else wants me.” Love that man!
  25. Thanks mate. Got my application in this morning....wish I knew how many tickets are up for grabs . Realise it's not going to be many but a clue as to how much hope I have would be good. Got Goodison as a back-up though, so I'm working on the assumption that I'll be heading north rather than east....if I get a result in the ballot I'll probably need resuscitation .
