  1. Gerry was the only player who seemed to give a crap! The second half we started brighter but then went back to taking our time and no tempo. I don't like drawing or losing but when the team plays well it's a bit better to take. We played poor at home today, no excuses. The team just looked like they couldn't give a crap. So frustrating!!
  2. Oviedo playing as RB, this could be interesting.
  3. Nobody in the premier league seems to want him. I think he coil do a job in the championship. He needs to play if he wants to play in euros! Plus get his wages off the books
  4. I haven't been on this for a while (slap on the wrist) and haven't got the time to go through all the thread unfortunately but I will put my 2 cents in. I think the reason why we aren't getting results is not because of Martinez and his tactics but fans as well. We have got it in our head that we've got this great squad with world class players. (Great potentially word class players not world class yet) and are expectations are sky high at the moment. I can understand why as well, we do have the best squad we have had in years and years. The questions you should be asking though: Why is our away form better than our home form? Everton have conceded 12 away from home and 20 at home. Away form we would be 6th in the table. Home form we would be 17th. We are constantly booing Everton when we aren't scoring or playing possession football. Spurs for example, when Stones was playing around with Son. Running to Howard and turning him Son again and again. We were booing and getting overly excited and Stones had to tell the crowd to calm down. (Pretty sure he mutted "Jesus Christ" under his breath as well). Away from home the players don't get that and can play their own game. We can't do that at Goodison because we won't let them. So overall, my opinion is not Martinez as I do believe he is a good manager but the fact our expectations are getting higher and higher. Bring back the days where we couldn't sign Lukaku, Gerard, McCarthy etc and bring back the days where we had Moyes who couldn't of convinced those type of players to join his team in the first place. Bring back the days where we were patient and realists and a top 7 was what we expected each year!
  5. Joel. He made some good saves, looked more confident than I have seen him in the past as well. He was shouting at defenders and also he was bringing a tempo to the game. How many times this season have you seen Howard save it and wait for all the players to get in position and then either pass to a defender or hoof it upfield hoping to reach Lukaku's head. Joel as soon as he got the ball he cleared it and Lukaku 9/10 was getting on the end of it and we had Norwich on the break. I just think Howard slows down play an awful lot and now makes a lot more poor judgements. Give Joel a shot against Sunderland!
  6. Embolo is a beast on FIFA 16. SIGN HIM UP MARTINEZ! (That's my knowledge and input on him). Don't watch FC Basel play and refuse to watch YouTube videos of players. How people can make decisions on a player by watching YouTube videos I don't know. You could make any player look good on YouTube.
  7. So it means we have paid more than the reported 2 million and also they get some sort of sell on fee. Probably 25% of any future fee. Welcome Mason!
  8. Martinez himself said that in the first half the players were still in pre season mode. At the moment we have all the rumours about Stones which is undoubtedly going to unease the player. Then you've got Baines who is out as well which doesn't help. Gerry is injured but should be back for the trip to Southampton. This was one game against Watford and the start of the season. Arsenal lost 2-0 to West Ham does that mean they are going to have a rubbish season? No. We had to play a side that has just been promoted and out to prove a point straight away. We sat back and let them play their game, we weren't aggressive enough in our approach but that doesn't mean I want to get rid of Martinez. I don't want to be one of these clubs who don't stick with the manager. Simple answer no.
  9. I don't think this is one of the signings Martinez was talking about. This is a player for the future and Martinez has said this himself in the press conference. He said before that he is looking at getting 3 more players in before the transfer window shuts. This to me means another first choice backup CB (maybe Evans, even though Martinez said there was no truth in this rumour) a no.10 and a striker.
  10. Howard Coleman Stones Jags Baines McCarthy Cleverley Deulofeu Barkley Mirallas Lukaku
  11. Last season I was watching a few bundesliga games and I would like us to go for John Brooks. Young American and reminds me a lot of Stones. Plays for Hertha BSC, is 22 years old. Comfortable on the ball as well. Would probably cost the same amount as Virgil van Dijk though.
  12. Have you seen the papers today. Running a story saying Lukaku is Man United's mystery striker? Depay posted a picture and said see you soon. Papers latched onto it saying United are going to make a bid. These news stories get on my nerves sometimes!
  13. I just seen that Patrick Roberts has gone to City. This home grown rule means nothing and actions needs to be enforced it actually does. City have got Sterling (who will play), Delph (who might get the odd game) and Roberts (who won't play). Rules need to be put in place to say that an X number of home grown players in the squad (5-6 players) have to play a number of games and also a number of minutes a season. That way it would give players like Roberts and Delph a chance to prove themselves. It would also stop squads putting players on in the 92nd minute and it counting as an appearance. At the moment the rule is a club must have a certain number of home-grown players in their squad. Doesn't mean they have to play them as long as they are in the 23 man squad list. Rodwell and Sinclair went to City and got no game time and now moved on to different clubs. It is absolutely b011ock3 the rule!
  14. Would be nice to see them become a footballing side? Under Hughes they have played a totally different style of football and aren't the same physical side they were under Pulis. He has changed Stoke for the better and so far it is working. If Shaqiri does go to Stoke and can find form then there is no reason as to why they can't get top 6 in my opinion.
  15. I think Cleverley is a good signing. He will add something different to the team. Play him alongside McCarthy or Besic. I know he is a CAM but is he a replacement for Barry?
  16. Cleverley said he wanted to come to Everton but this was when they were playing negative football under Lambert. With Sherwood he looks a completely different player, looks decent, quick on the ball, confident and not afraid to put a tackle in. This is what Sherwood seems to be able to do is get players confidence up again. It happened with Adebayor at Spurs. I think Cleverley under Sherwood will sign a contract with Villa.
  17. Let's hope we go for it against West Ham score goals, play attractive football and make West Ham make silly tackles!
  18. QPR - Austin Burnley - Ings Hull - Huddlestone and Dawson. (Better than Alcaraz and same age as Jags). These are the only players I could actually see helping the team.
  19. ------Martyn-------- Coleman--Weir--Jagielka--Baines Gravesen Mirallas Arteta Pienaar Rooney---Lukaku I was torn between Arteta or Barkley but I decided Arteta as Gravesen would bring in the steel needed and Arteta would bring in the flair!
  20. ---Howard--- Coleman---Jagielka--Stones--Baines (Garbutt is Baines is injured) McCarthy Mirallas------Barkley------------Lennon Lukaku---Naismith
  21. Barry seriously needs to be dropped! When Arsenal scored the first goal we had two chances quickly after and high tempo passing. Then Barry got the ball, slowed the whole game down again looking where to pass the ball and then all the players lost the momentum!
  22. Villareal vs Sevilla Wolfburg vs Inter Florentina vs Roma Everton couldn't have asked for a better draw than that. Those were the 6 teams I wouldn't have wanted in this draw. Dynamo Kiev are a tough side though but still better than the above!
  23. Joel looked more confident when he had a good run in the team. The goal against young boys was Howard's fault. He was off his line and couldn't get to the ball on time. His positioning since the WC has been poor. Against Cardiff he played poor and if we had a more confident keeper in net we would have got the three points there. We played poor but I think a more in form goal keeper would have kept those two goals out.
