Gareth Barry can read a football match that's for sure, very impressed with him and I was a doubter.

Sad to see Ossie,s demise but he isn't contributing, Gerard could open them up. Pleased but no way cocky
more hard work to come. still allowing to much room in the final third. COYB.

Ive been debating this in my head all day, and I have a gut feeling he wont start both McCarthy and Barry together
one of them will be on the bench. Hasten to add just a feeling ive got and I hope im wrong.

With the standard of opposition will RM go with a whole new centre midfield from the off. The Question for me is whether he has
lost faith in Ossie like the fans or will he bear with him looking for the response new competition brings.
Just don't think its as cut and dried as many seem to think.

More than anything if we lose this fixture I hope the doom and gloom brigade are,nt out with sharpened knives.
Even at our best we have a hard time versus Chelsea and even another draw would not be a bad result
and I hope Mourinho is still daft enough to leave class like Juan Mata on the bench.

A win would be awesome and a fantastic boost but a defeat here would not send me into panic. The oldest of clichés
but I believe one slice of luck or skill and off we go.

I don't think Everton have gone stale in any way shape or form.

    1. Goodison is like any other ground in that the fans respond to how the blues are playing, Many times the Atmosphere when
the ground is rocking is absolutely incredible a shiver up the spine feeling. But ditto most grounds, it depends on the team.
The only 2 grounds I can think of where they sing constantly are Cardiff and Stoke (as a rule, they also have quiet spells)
Also I,d like to point out what Jose Mourinho said. In his opinion the most intimidating stadium in England..GOODISON PARK.

    2. The Crest, totally agree, an ill thought abomination, I did not buy any tops this season because of it. Truly shocking.

3.The away fans. There is simply no where else to put them, unless we ever get a new ground then thats where they,ll stay.
I love the fact that there are Everton fans behind both goals, better for our team and their morale.
And if you want to see away fans treated really badly try paying £69 at the Emirates.

4.The phone call. The club received a quick sharp nasty shock with the crest debacle, I believe a lesson was learned
so anything that improves the communication is fine by me.

    5. In conclusion Everton do the best with what they,ve got, and other than some multi million investment coming in
we just have to get on with it. This club has soul, spirit and a feeling that is lost at your Chelsea,s and Man City,s.
All in all im content and very proud of Everton Football Club.

Brrr chills the blood, just the thought. one good thing, Everyone at Everton is so pissed off at United,s shitty behaviour
that im sure they,ll never get a quick easy deal of us ever again .

Mind you willing to negotiate on Naismith. ( feel a bit mean saying that, decided instantly that as long as he is wearing
an Everton shirt I should try and support the lad) Not as if he isn't trying. He,s only human a bit of backing might do
    him wonders.

I only watch internationals if Everton lads are involved to be honest except the actual tournaments.

Wales were just starting to look half tidy, when we had the Gary Speed tragedy.

All I want these days is For Jags, Bainesy and now Ross to have a good game, and much more importantly not to get injured.

    Ditto Mirallas, Coleman etc.

Don't know how you all feel but compared to Everton it matters little to me.

Seamus has come on leaps and bounds since when he first joined,, Full back and at times a damn exciting right winger.

A cracking player, very found of him, and as for the abusive comments, these people don't seem like Evertonians to me

Bill has had some fearsome abuse off a lot of Evertonians, but credit where it is due his performance in the transfer
window has been great, 3 excellent signings ( well 2 and 1 we,ll see about in Barry,s case and we squeezed top money
out of United and treated them with the contempt they richly deserve. And if the story of him refusing to take calls
off Moyes directly has any weight, then I congratulate him.

Plus as in when some folk griped about the choice of Martinez, and I wondered who else was there, the same applies with
Kenwright until some yet unknown buyer comes in, I again ask who else is there ?.

One incident that said it all was after the Wigan F.A Cup shambles, we beat Man City in the next game with a performance
of pride and passion. Bill was in tears and even the most biased could not say it was for the camera.
Fact is Bill Kenwright loves Everton Football Club with all his heart and I empathise and respect that totally.

Also even at bad times he always walks down Goodison road before a home game flak or not. He also has integrity and
respect in his dealings with other clubs and in return is respected by those other clubs.
So unless some billionaire comes in Bill Kenwright is our chairman like it or lump it. I personally think he does his
    best for us.

My only quibble is how the fuck that awful crest got rubber stamped, but an apology was issued with candour
and the mistake will be learned from.. Bill you are ok by me. the opinion of your critics will never change.

Mike Preece got a reaction from efc1111 in Capital One Cup
Notice a lot of you talking about the Europa league a lot along with the Capital cup. To me the Europa league is the side
issue. Wish to explain myself with a perspective from an unsuccessful then a successful Everton. Bear with me and you,ll see what im
    getting at.

    1. Take Mick Lyons the unluckiest Everton captain ever, one of my earliest Everton heroes, a true stalwart who would run through
walls for the club. Captain at a time when Liverpool were winning absolutely everything and how hard that was for us fans.

A, In 1977 we lose the league cup final to Aston Villa after 2 replays.
    B. Same year F.A cup semi final, we are drawing 2-2 with Liverpool. Bryan Hamilton scores a perfectly good goal. Infamous ref Clive Thomas
calls it wrongly offside, we are thrashed 3-0 in the replay at Maine Road.
    C. 1980 F.A cup semi Final replay Elland Road. We are 1-0 down 10 mins left, Brian Kidd equalises we press forward.
Then in extra time right at the death Frank Lampard breaks our hearts. Total and utter despair, awful to take.
    D. No medals in his whole career for a great Evertonian. Ditto, Andy King, Terry Darracott, Ronnie Goodlass, George Wood ( loved him, great keeper, great bloke) In fact my best memory from around 1975-80 and the only consolation was the Andy King screamer that beat that legendary Liverpool
    team at Goodison in 1978.
Another great sweat blood for the club type Mark Higgins in the early 80,s ..No medals.

Now the success, one of the best days of my life. Sat May 19th 1984 F.A cup final v Watford.. From my point

Went to Wembley along with a mate no ticket, went in hope. About 12.15 on the day we bought two £5 terrace tickets for £30 each.
Bear in mind you could have a good night on £5 in those days.
They were Watford end tickets, so we went shouting around the mingling Watford fans for a swap. We exchanged with a father and son
    who had Everton end tickets.
Behind the goal where Sharpy scored the first goal, Andy Gray got the 2nd..
seeing Kevin Ratcliffe lift that trophy, hard to describe the elation, the heart bursting pride, the sheer magic of it.
We of course went on to be fantastic, but nothing will ever beat that day. So special, so proud, the sheer joy among our fans that day
    was unbeleiveable.

You might think ive rambled or think whats my point, but its simple. We now gone 18 years without silverware, we are not of the stature we were,
to us fans Everton are the biggest and best club on earth. But around Europe we are not thought of that way.

So the Capital One and the F.A cup are our most realistic chance of doing something, and hope we go full tilt for both.

People go on about your 4th place ,and your Europa league all they like, but I want to see an Everton captain (hopefully Jags this Season)
climb those Wembley steps an lift a trophy for Everton football Club.
That's what is remembered, that's what matters. Take hibbo for instance, imagine him getting a medal before his career finishes and what it would mean.

When players retire they want to say to their grandkids I won that medal in a cup final for Everton.

The Europa league is a bonus or not, but the traditions we love, the if you know your history, everthing we treasure about our clubs heritage
comes from the Everton teams that won trophies.

To any younger Evertonian, who has,nt seen it happen in their lifetime, I would say. Keep loving the club, keep you faith good times and bad.
cos believe me Everton winning a trophy is the most fantastic feeling on this earth, and I hope we,ll see it again.

Long post but hope you all understand why I had to say it.
