  1. Paul i love your passion for the club and fuck the authority stance. we are backing Funes, no doubt. love him already. we're just trying to get a barometer reading on his talent level, upside, etc. no one takes these pundits for gospel, we're just bored and can't watch him play for 2 weeks so this is the best we got.
  2. looked it up. the company that owns spurs is owned by both lewis and Levy. Lewis 70% Levy 30% https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ENIC_Group
  3. newty i'm thick mate hence asking makis for more clarity. no idea on levy but his name is all over that article.
  4. interesting read. a lot of investor jargon and investor groups. my little finance knowledge i gleaned that it seems that whole thing is the loan companies are really a vehicle for Sir Phillip Green to make money. He does so by having 2 proxies (Daniel Levy at Spurs, Robbie Earl/BK at Everton) who borrow from the club and it makes Sir Phillip tons of interest and money. BK and DL do this because BK didn't have any money to buy the team and Sir PG saw an investment opportunity. Not sure why Levy is in on it. Is that a correct summation Makis?
  5. sorry mike that whole math thing we're 16th in spend this year so 4 teams behind and 15 in front. i forgot i can't count us
  6. they're in a strange predicament as well mike. they sold a ton of players but didn't bring much in, i can see poettchetino going in the summer is they don't get CL. they have the opposite problem from us. splash tons of cash but expect manager to win the league in 2 years or fired.
  7. 16 clubs spent more than us. only 4 spent below us (bournemouth, norwich, arsenal, swansea)
  8. it's the fucking lennon thread, what the fuck! mori is in for the internationals for argentina.
  9. a guy playing with the u-21 getting a call up? nope Goalkeepers: Joe Hart (Manchester City), Jack Butland (Stoke City), Tom Heaton (Burnley). Defenders: Nathaniel Clyne (Liverpool), Luke Shaw (Manchester United), Kieran Gibbs (Arsenal), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Chris Smalling (Manchester United), John Stones (Everton), Phil Jagielka (Everton). Midfielders: Michael Carrick (Manchester United), James Milner (Liverpool), Ross Barkley (Everton), Jonjo Shelvey (Swansea City), Ryan Mason (Tottenham Hotspur), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal), Fabian Delph (Manchester City). Forwards: Raheem Sterling (Manchester City), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United), Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur), Jamie Vardy (Leicester City), Theo Walcott (Arsenal). 10. yep hence why pad and i thought it was a different Everton. i really hope he comes good.
  11. also overpaid 5m so really should have been 15m, not catching the mori thing and making him the highest ever defender is a fucking joke. he ain't john stones
  12. they got 2nd like i already said, they didn't need to improve much. 11th and a relegation battle for a minute we need more improvement. just like said clubs stoke newcastle west ham etc have done
  13. that's net spend mate, that counts sales as well. if you just look at spending there are only 4 clubs (bournemouth, norwich, arsenal, swansea) that spent less than us. that's us at 16th in the premier league spending.
  14. lol this exchange has me LMAO at work in my cubicle. people looking at me like 'what the hell's this dude doing laughing at his computer screen"
  15. true that, shit we're gonna have a u-14 LB playing for us soon if this keeps up!
  16. they finished 2nd last year, we finished 11th. they can be excused for not spending as much since they weren't shit.
  17. very good english better than oviedo. great attitude seems to be chomping at the bit to get this chance, i'm backing the lad and hope he comes good. left footed, this is the distin replacement.
  18. 4. positives - we got gerry back on a reasonable deal - cleverley on a free - holgate a promising youngster - henen locked down to a permanent deal negatives - we had one major flaw, no number 10, we did nothing to address this - we overpaid A LOT for a younger version of alcaraz - we got an unproven reserve striker biggest need was a 10, it wasn't fulfilled, therefore i can't give higher than a 4 regardless of others brought in. Can't drive the truck if the engine ain't fixed, no matter how many fancy spoiilers exhaust rims tires etc., won't run without the engine.
  19. i wouldn't. that's the one thing we needed most. i would rather see galloway and browning at CB, and ossie on the wing than watch tippy tappy around the box till its given away and then scored on the counter agaisnt us.
  20. yeah i follow nantes some becuase they have a US international and the defender is solid, but that's Ligue 1. They really messed this window up good, i could see a big splash in january to rectify it.
  21. lol true enough. he's a solid player, i'm not sure if they'll play him on the wing or RB but i hope for our sake he gets some game time to prove himself.
  22. just got back from lunch. i'm not ok with this window. not ok with this shit board. that's all.
  23. i was highlightin that he was drinking WHILE ON FUCKING PAIN KILLERS. he knowingingly goty fucked up on while on pain pills, what did he expect? that's the first thing the doc says, "don't drink with these"
