  1. agreed although our league position and stadium situation make 7th good for us. the gulf between the haves and have nots is massive on that chart.
  2. bravo the board got something right. we are where we should be in that order. other than villa the other clubs below us didn't disclose their terms so it's all conjecture, but glad we moved up from 9th to 7th. now we just need to do so in the league table. although i slate the board, i'm happy to give props where it's due. it's due here.
  3. Hell Yes. I'd love them gone. Someone with some business knowledge would be prefferred.
  4. yes well have to look up some clubs similar to us, villa, soton, sunderland, newcastle, i'll see if i can find theirs to compare. united and arsenal are in a league of their own which we don't belong to (in my opinion) financially. http://www.themag.co.uk/2015/03/newcastle-united-finances-leave-28-5m-unexplained/ found that article basically saying the same things as we are, got tons of tv money and all of a sudden Newcastle fans are asking how did operating costs go up 28.5m? looks like the scheme they pull here is popular elsewhere.
  5. forgot about this. it definately pisses me off. set pieces are great chances to score, especially with rom, jags, stones, barry, in the lineup, some big boys. just seems stupid to waste these chances no matter the stats and moneyball defense. the moyes team you always knew if we had come corner's at the end of the match we had a chance, now we might as well just give them the ball back.
  6. no but it's getting to where i posted in another thread i'm actually thinking i'd like moyes back you know something has gone wrong when i'm having that thought :shaking fist:
  7. LOL a team that actually follows the rules, fancy that. definately sell to them in that case.
  8. matt i wasn't using 10 in the traditional sense as in positioning. i just meant barry was more creative passing wise and that version of him spurred us on in attack. they come in all different sizes, they don't just have to be david silva in an ACM position. busquets sits back and he still creates. don't know if that makes sense or not.
  9. i don't like his personality but i liked newcastle under him and palace are transforming nicely as well. just wish he wasnt an arrogant prick. cabaye will make that team a contender again, what a player he is.
  10. Yes. 13/14 was a great season, but everything that was great about that season tactically (433, , 352, barry attacking instead of sitting, fast paced attack, used youngsters) he doesn't do anymore. Same formation, 2 sitters, sideways and back passes at a slow pace, no Plan B. it's like he forgot what worked or something.
  11. spot on, the fact he's english seems like a slam dunk for man city. maybe they are just buying up cheap english bench players to fulfill their quota instead of trying to get starters (barring sterling). honestly i hope he goes to united or city or a euro team over chelski.
  12. mike that season barry was playing that role in my opinion. he was the more advanced of the 2 DCM and he was threading passes to all the midfielders and striker orchestrating the attack. Barkley was ACM and he also played a bit of this role, he drove the ball forward to pass or take a shot himself. So my answer is both those players gave us the closest to the "10 role". Mirallas led the team with assists so an argument could be made for him as well, but i stand by my assertion. the reason we need it so badly now is due to the style of football we play post 2013/2014. mccarthy and barry seem to have been ordered to just sit and defend, with mccarthy now being tasked to push forward. barry is the better passer and has better vision, so this limits us. also ross has been instructed not to run with the ball (seemingly so) and just make quick touch passes to the other players. this means all the space he used to create which made other players open is now gone and so there are no open passes or open players because he's not pulling them off their man. honestly with moyes i felt like pienaar was our 10. he would link up with everyone in the box and was the creative force attacking and being positive in the box. he cut inside and didn't just stay on the left. the year he was gone was similar to last year in that we just lacked that creative impetus in the final third. someone to take the ball and either pass it off or drive it in to attack.
  13. sad thing is they have a better academy, better financial situation, better 1st team, and they've just been in the prem a few years. sad really that we are being overtaken by a club like theirs. their stadium is what 23k at best? we've got 15k more seats and fans and it still doesn't do a difference.
  14. http://www.espnfc.us/blog/espn-fc-united-blog/68/post/2557560/reece-oxford-joins-jack-wilshere-amid-youngest-prem-debuts the majority are evertonians

  16. he's the english equivalent to obama. just blame everything on him no matter if it applies or not.
  17. I don't think it's with Barry the player (this season) but more so his role. 2 sitters. He had a decent match last games was anonymous second half for me, but he didn't make any massive mistakes.
  18. 5m is great. He Gerry and mirallas for some proper wingerS to play with romelu. Money is still missing thought. That would make it 9.5m spent so far, should have at least 20m, so 10m on the 10 is expected and a loan for the cb would work.
  19. Yeah busquets is what McCarthy should be going for. A sitter who can pass and let's rakitic and iniesta do all the creativity
  20. i'd hope he is. i'm not wishing for a striker, but i'm the outlier. CB and 10 and lennon would do me just fine.
  21. lol i could just see bill "fuck it well lose another 1m pounds but they're getting antsy", i bet they wanted to go to TDD with it
