  1. spot on. Euro qualifiers, WC qualifiers are a different thing, but friendlies? who's gives a shit. i'm glad roberto does this and makes it seem like they can't walk, they need the rest and frankly Everton have more a chance of Top 4 than Ireland do of winning any trophy.
  2. Not going to happen. Bob already said he's not bringing anyone in in January for cb. He said we have browning and Galloway who are ready and able to fill in.
  3. I think he thought he moved from Olympiokos to arsenal. He was on loan in Greece, he's always been a gunner. But in a way blueboy is correct. He has been loaned out for the past 3 years and never seen time for arsenal and his World Cup made them keep him (albeit he is on the bench and I don't think he's seen any action) instead of loaning him out again. Side note - we have his national teammate Oviedo which would make the switch easier. In loving this rumor more and more.
  4. Yep that's him. I don't have an opinion on him, seen some prem games and World Cup games he did, but the media made him out to be the greTest English ref when he retired. Well seems this idea I had was a bad one. It is crazy and frightening that they yo-yo performance wise so much. Is it just a premier league thing? I wonder if bundesliga refs are better? The Germans excel with technicalities.
  5. Thanks mike, I was wondering about that. Question for you, is it equivalent ferociousness for England Scotland and England Ireland and England Wales, or is the England Scotland usually the most tense?
  6. true, but the nature of a friendly is less ferorcious than a euro qualifyer. i don't think he'll be jogging about, but it's a friendly.
  7. what about that guy that just retired, phil dowd? or something. wasn't he supposed to be the best english ref. the bald dude.
  8. 7m yes please. that''s vic anichebe money and with the pace campbell has, he could play wing opposite mirallas and on the counter attack those 2 would be lethal. not much money, he's still young and talented, and unlike the fellas above here i thought he had a great overall world cup. i watched a lot of costa rica and was really impressed. sign him up bobby.
  9. great point haf. a lot of contacts in US sports are this way. if an injury ridden player gets a contract it's usually minimal guarnteed money and all incentive based. that way the team doesn't get screwed. it usually works really well for the player because it motivates them to play more which increase the liklihood of a bigger deal.
  10. I admit i am not that familiar with most of the officials in the prem. so I know some of the bad ones clatternburg for screwing us against the shite with all the cards, but what other officials do you like or dislike? I need to start seeing who officiates in the box score and such, keep up with such things.
  11. Right on. Yeah I'd rather he rest as well. We need the win at home vs west ham.
  12. Why? Barkley is an evertonian, we should keep him and let him realize his potential here. Apurs sold bale and suck, the shite sold Suarez and suck, I see a trend. No sale for me.
  13. Bitching about playing time must have worked. Started and played the whole match for hibs today.
  14. They are doing really well this year, I'm happy for them.
  15. Yeah, I still love that quote he gave about Liverpool "we don't give a shit about those guys across the park"
  16. i figured it was Jags and Baines, great to hear about Lukaku though, glad he's just enjoying himself. I remember seeing an interview last year with Jags or Coleman and behind them Distin started walking and Rom jumped on his back and piggy back rode him into the locker room. All 3 were having a laugh, it was cool to see they are having a good time.
  17. no they haven't blue boy. once we get mirallas back and oviedo and the like, that team is going to be beastly. john stones and jags. check it Howard Coleman Stones Jags Baines McCarthy Barry McGeady Barkley Mirallas Lukaku Bench - Eto'O, Osman, Naismith, Oviedo, Distin, Browning, Hibbert, Besic, Gibson, Atsu What a squad
  18. also part of the equation is finding the right formation to maximize his talents. so far ross isn't the most creative player, he can turn and move the ball and run with it and make great runs, but he's not like pirlo or xavi always looking to pass it out. he might be better suited to a more box to box roll where he isn't as responsible for creativity, but more for getting the ball moving from defense to offense and using that quick turn and pace to give us an up tempo offense. so for me, if we aren't going to sell him and he's going to be the grand poobah then we need to tailor a formation to utilize his best skills. 4132 would look great Howard Coleman Stones Jags Baines McCarthy McGeady Barkley Mirallas Eto'o/New Creative player signed Lukaku Just a thought
  19. terrible news, he's been our best player this year. i'd love to see either oviedo (only if he's fully ready) or garbutt. as discussed in the garbutt thread, this might be a good time to figure out which of the 2 is our next LB and move the other to Left Mid.
  20. i didn't see the matches today, had to work (sucks i know). how did the rest of the lads do, gibson, coleman, naisy, etc.?
  21. Haha lol. Didn't even realize that my bad. Comical though! Yes I imagine we will see more rumors.
  22. Great question mike. When both are healthy who looks better I guess. Either sell the other or move them to mid like you said. Good position to be in though. Also if Oviedo doesn't come back to his old form at least we have Garbutt. I fully expect Bryan to be back at his best though.
  23. Agreed. Barkley for 60m is kinda tempting. I've alwYs been on the no sell side and still think we should keep him. Stones will move on eventually, make the big bucks on him, he doesn't have any loyalties to Everton, Ross is a blue and we should try and keep him.
