  1. exactly, that's my main point with this thread. With Mirallas the other midfield/wing spot doesn't look as bad with a cast of characters rotating there. but without mirallas, it's that cast between 2 spots and it isn't working for me. We have 4 ACM players Barkley, Niasy, Osman, and Eto'o that it is their best position. Too many in my opinion. DCM we are fine, CB we are fine (have browning and pennington), even fullbacks we look alright. it's the wing that needs straightening out.
  2. yeah i agree, i think europa we need to hit hard and go far. win it or get close and the rest of europe knows us and we're hot so they want to be on our kits. question is, would elstone have the intelligence to take advantage of all that? i'm not holding my breath.
  3. agreed, i'm talking mostly about chang. man united got chevrolet and addidas for their kit for a billion dollars (US). chelsea have samsung, arsenal emirates, man city etihad, etc. but instead we get chang, the beer i can drink at the little thai joint down the street for 5 bucks, it's aint terrible, but it's not great either. the kitbag deal seems to me "the easy route" same as chang. instead of elstone doing his job and trying to get better he just thought "well these deals are there so i should just re-accept that way i don't have to do anything".
  4. villa leading spurs 1-0. spurs having a mare so far this season. it would be nice to beat them in a couple weeks.
  5. i think the problem with the commercial income is something you brits might not get. our club has great history, and we are a big club no doubt, but no other country in the world sees it that way. in america its man u, spurs, arsenal, some liverpool and city fans. i tell people i root for everton they look at me like they are a league 1 team they never heard of. i'm sure this has a lot to do with the commercial activities. plus our owner is from liverpool, it's not like he can get outside deals easily. man city, arsenal, man u, etc are all owned by non brits hence their massive commercial deals with companies from their respective countries. who's bill gonna sign up with, liver pools finest auto dealer? scousers heating/ac? the best way to increase this is win europa and get the international acclaim, then people will want their name on our shirt. look at atletico, they have ajerbazian as their sponsor, win the europa a few years back and then again 2 years ago and bang, look at that.
  6. man city holds on. we are now level with man u on points and goal difference.
  7. i wonder how much man united had to pay this ref to get these decisions. 2 penalties not given. at least he got the red card right. what a joke, i hope united get relegated.
  8. no truth in this, he just signed a new deal this summer as arsenal sold him to sociedad with that clause they had. we need a proper winger or creative player.
  9. agreed the side passes piss me off all the time. it's like everyone is afraid to run with the ball, they want to pass immediately and get the balls out of their feets. mirallas, barkley, coleman, and lukaku are the only ones that can run on the break and keep the ball and make something. jimmy mac (love the guy) but he passes to coleman or barry and it's over. barry does the same thing. naisy can't run and chew gum at the same time it's always a pass right back. it kills me to pad, we need more pace.
  10. the tough thing here is we have 3 number 10's now. Barkley, Naismith, and Eto'o. It's where all 3 are best suited. I'd rather Ross and Eto'o get the all the reps there though.
  11. the thing is we do miss delafeu off the bench, but we are also missing a quality starting winger to pair with mirallas. that nolito we were linked with celta vigo is tearing up la liga, get him in bob.
  12. Our wingers have been the weakest part of the team this season for me. In January or the offseason we need to offload some and sign some quality wingers to start and for the bench. Mirallas - quality, the only true winger who attacks and brings pace and something creative. Pienaar - I used to stick up for him a lot, but Hes well past it now. Also I think he did so well with the Moyes teams because the direct hoofball was opposite from his link up left side creativity. He offered something different. Now that we play out the back and build up and pass, he offers what the rest of the team is doing and so it's nothing special now. McGeady - too inconsistent, could be the other starting winger if he could let Coleman run the flank, learn to pass better, and not lose the ball all the time. Naisy - not a winger, a number 9 and I just can't stand seeing him out there on the wing any more. Atsu - apparently not good enough, not sure why he doesn't get a punt when everyone else is so dire. Oviedo - injured but maybe he will give us something, I'm holding out hope. Eto'o - can play on the wing and is decent but he's best as a 9 or 10. Osman - not really a winger either, better in the center, old, squad player. We need to sign or loan someone. Gerard was great last year on the bench or starting.
  13. Gotta win this so we can cruise in the other 2 Europa matches and concentrate on the league for a month or so. Howard Coleman Jags Distin Baines McCarthy Barry Atsu Barkley Pienaar Lukaku
  14. Terrible news. I want browning then. Distin for Europa, blood browning.
  15. can't even beat a 10 man swansea? that second half was dire.
  16. missed the first half dealing with my son, but i'm in now. sad to see antolin injured, he was really playing well.
  17. balotelli starts, he's not doing much though. 0-0 at the half. i'm really hoping newcastle wins or they draw.
  18. me as well. he's a great player, glad he's here, glad i was wrong.
  19. That's exactly how I feel. I feel bad for him, and also for us. He was quality for Wigan and I feel some goals for us would have turned it all around. There's still time.
  20. fantastic news, if we can keep it up, we can be debt free in 2 years. we've come a long way
  21. i think it would be worth it. he might have declined by then, but as a role model and someone to teach Romelu, Ross, and the youngsters it will be priceless. sign him up bob.
  22. same here. i thought it was a good article, pointed out that baines is better at pinpoint passes and putting the ball in front of runners than crosses. nothing wrong with that, i'd rather play to his strengths. i think this is why RM thinks he can play CM.
  23. i live in new orleans, the most corrupt city in america. the city is so corrupt when each mayor is done serving, they go straight to jail for corruption. see ray nagin and any of his predessors. the police force here are the criminals, so much so the FBI has intervened and is forcing them to sign a consent decree basically saying the FBI can monitor all their activity and fire them. government officials steal so much money from taxpayers that we have the worst schools in the country, most people who graduate high school in public schools can barely read. we lead the country as the "murder capital of the us" with most murders per capita. atlanta is a walk in the park compared to this hood. this used to upset me, but then i read a book on the history of the city and realized it's been corrupt and filled with nepotism since the day it began.
