They lost Suarez, sturridge is injured, agger left as well, and they brought in some decent players but no world class players. The defense still sucks, Gerard is another year older and they won't bench him. Pretty much what I expected to be honest.

I think any club he goes to will be contenders. He knows how to find a bargain and will have a stout defense. Newcastle is the best option player wise, but they might be reluctant to fire pardew since he's on that big contract.

I've been a huge backer for Kone, and I think we will see him this year. could be worth some goals in the fa cup.

he cost us what 2m? we've spent more on FAR FAR worse players. for a 2m player he's fine. he's squad filler. when our first team is back (pienaar, mirallas) he won't get a sniff. in fact, once oviedo is healthy i think he will get more chances than aiden. heck i wouldn't be surprised if Kone played on the wing over him. so in that case, i think he's fine. i don't have high standards for a 2m player, Anichebe was 6m and mcgeady is definitely 1/3 the player he was, so i'm fine.

I vote antolin as well. He is well assured on the ball and passes really well.

Agreed mike. There are some very good teams that are doing well in the tournament. Spurs, Sevilla, fiorentina, inter, Villarreal, it's going to be a great tourney this year. Would love to draw Celtic, they have looked very weak lately in their league and in an easy group they are barely getting by in their matches.
