  1. can someone explain how the bundesliga leading scorer for like 3 season goes for 14m? at 60k a week? not to mention he's not african so no worry about ACN either, this would be a no brainer, made up for atletico but really feel these are the player we should be going for.
  2. Exactly why I think we need to sign another prominent American to keep that contingent following the club. He's got 3-4 years left on that contract and said he's retire, so hopefully we can have someone lined up by then.
  3. We've got the gold cup every other year which is the same as the euro (except with concacaf). We won last one and if we win this one we go to the confederations cup in Russia. The copa America is just South America but this year for the centennial they have allowed a couple concacaf teams since it's being hosted In the USA. Copa libertadores is just South America and Mexico.
  4. ' this. we need a striker, we need a pienaar long term replacement, we need to either sign barry or get younger version of barry (or maybe 2 of them, gibbo is always hurt). Back 4 is the least of our worries.
  5. argentina have looked horrible. belgium haven't looked excellent yet, so I'm guessing they will finally click this game and start using all the talent they have to score. also belgium wins the midfield battle easily for me.
  6. In other news, Terrence Boyd has been transferred to German Second Division side RB Leipzig. He was playing for Austrian side Rapid Vienna and playing in the Europa league regularly, but I'm guessing he wanted a chance to move up in the Bundesliga or get noticed more there. Good for him I hope it pays off.
  7. screw him then, we don't need him, just trying to help the lad and if he doesn't want playing time and increased demand for his services? then he ain't bright, good luck on the bench.
  8. good stuff. i'll keep an eye out for those youngsters, only familiar with gyau and gatt. maybe another to keep an eye on is the arsenal guy gedion zelalem. german american maybe juergen can work his magic with. he's 17 right now and saw one arsenal senior cap.
  9. Haha a US blogger wrote that as well. Funny how all the euro countries border one another in a circle. If only Luxembourg could have made it, they'd have the whole block!
  10. Haha, I was caught up in 2006 that's when I really got into soccer. Started following the us team players at the club level and fell in love with Tim, Landon and Everton. I'm glad it's catching on with everyone else too!
  11. We've got an England thread, but no dedicated thread for the US team. Great World cup and I'm already excited for the Gold Cup, Americas Cup Centennial with South America, and the 2018 World Cup Qualifying to begin. Would to love chat with other Americans (and anyone else) about all things US soccer. I'll start off with this, here's my current prediction of the 2018 team that will start (why not?) with the players available today. I'm sure a couple youngsters will emerge and some old players (danny williams?, sasha klejsten, joe corona, etc.) will catch form and might surprise. But what the heck, here's a go Sean Johnson - GK DeAndre Yedlin, Timothy Chandler - FB Matt Besler, John Anthony Brooks/Omar Gonzalez (either or) - CB Michael Bradley, Mix Diskeruud - CM Julian Green, Fabian Johnson (back to his preferred spot) - W Terrence Boyd, Aron Johannsson - Striker
  12. agreed, and he is emergency cover as well. he's been a great servant for the club, glad they repaid him and he can retire a blue.
  13. welcome, i'm an american as well (we have a good crowd here). glad you're becoming an everton fan, once you start watching you'll fall in love, great club and history.
  14. they have 104 midfielders, and pottchetino openly doesn't want him, i could only hope he'd be cheap. oh wait daniel levy, tight wad. dangit
  15. great match, proud of my USA for getting to extra time again in the round of 16, 2 WC in a row. we've got a lot of young talent, i expect a 2018 quarterfinal appearance. Howard my MOTM, most saves ever in a WC match in history, class and world beater.
  16. yes deandre yedlin, last year at this time he was finishing university! very young raw talent, very fast and has an assist already in the WC.
  17. USA with a 433, gotta love klinsmann switching it up each match with a different formation to up the gamesmanship. hopefully it pays off, GO USA!
  18. yeah i think naisy did better than Jela did for Hull. Would take naisy over Jelavic any day of the week.
  19. sigurdsson for sure, would be cheap and would be great as the 10 with ross, what a rotation that would be.
  20. detrimental? when we got the most points ever and we neck and neck with arsenal for CL? that we secured top Europa spot?
  21. Excited. I think he can offer something and hope to see a goal or 2 this campaign.
  22. My 2nd team is just teams from our region, so this time Costa Rica and Mexico and Honduras. I'm majority slovak decent so last World Cup I have them a shout as well.
  23. Juve said United have to pay 45m quid for Vidal. How is he worth 45m quid at 27 in the prime of his life (and being unfit yet still having a great World Cup) while Luke shaw is 18, had one decent year in the prem and is 30m? World gone mad i tell ya.
