I'm from the Teesside area and have recently switched jobs so that my wife and I can return to her home neighbourhood with our young daughter.
 
My wife is originally from the Walton area and her parents still live there. We've just bought a house in the area and are moving across by the end of October.
 
I'm excited about the prospect of a new start and, since I've been with my wife (around 9 years) I've been steadily increasing my obsession with Everton. She has three brothers who worship the club, so it's pretty easy to see why.
 
I've never been to a game, but I'm hoping to really put down some roots in the area and make a few mates when I get across there.

I am a bit late to the party on this one as I saw the title and though first it is a type of dance, and I don't/can't dance. Then I realised it was about a technological device called an i-pod and I don't have one (nor want one) But today I read it ... Yay :jump for joy:

Thanks guys I am hoping it will be the last one to be honest I have now been off work since the middle of February and I have no money left. (Apparently I am not entitled to any benefits as I am not looking for a job) So I need to get this one out of the way asap. Probably still find walking very difficult for some time though, but I do get the use of a Blue Badge for the time being.
 
I do a lot of reading, and being in a hospital bed will encourage me to read the book in peace and quiet.

There goes one of those 3-2 wins I predicted plenty of... Instead of a 1-1 of course. Phew. That's what football is all about

If Moyes had still been manager, he would have sown the defense up tighter than Susie Dent's vagina and the Tyneside outfit wouldn't of got anywhere near our goal in the second half. If we had been leading by 1 - 0 at half time, I would have expected Moyes to completely shut it down, but on the basis of the first half alone, there is reason for optimism in the coming weeks. Going to be fun with Martinez though, as he's a lot less restrictive than the manager before. Second period once again was disappointing, but on the basis of the first half alone, we deserve the points this night.

Being that Landon Donovan is what lured me to Everton in the first place, I can talk about the Galaxy/MLS (even though the Galaxy just lost yesterday) . Our league here in the states has improved over the years (still remember being a teenager and the league resembling what you would see in high school). Maybe I'll scout out some players that could grow and would love to see at our club

What a refreshing and heart warming thread, I don't know the back story as I'm relatively new on here.... but it reinforces to me what Everton are about as a club...I know that's a cliché and a bit trite...but hats off to you guy's and the community you've got on here

A wee update on how things are going at Tynecastle. We're on a losing streak league wise (3 in a row) but the performances aren't all that bad so hopefully we can turn the corner with that. Still 9 points adrift of 2nd bottom St Mirren, but they are truly awful and there's always hope we catch them soon.
We beat Queen of the South on penalties on Tuesday night to go through to the quarter finals of the League Cup up here...Celtic were knocked out at home to Morton so that leaves it wide open for probably 6 of the 8 teams left...we got beat in the final of this last year so it'd be great to get straight back and it's a cup I've not seen us lifting since we last won it in 1962. The great news for us is that we pulled Hibs out the hat so it's another Edinburgh derby for a place in the semi-final.....and yeah, we'll beat them :jump for joy: . Home to Dundee Utd on Saturday, it'll be as close to a sell out as matters and hopefully back to the kids picking up 3 points.

Setting up a formation is one thing, how you play tactically in the formation is another. Our 4-5-1 under Martinez easily moves into a 4-3-3 on the attack/counter.

Reminds me of Everton a bit! Probably won't get a chance to watch it so keep me updated.
