  1. Its down to the ref's. If I was refereeing I would visit both dressing rooms before the game and ask for the managers to be there. I would issue clear instructions that in the event of a query on any decision, then I would listen to the captains and explain my decision. If any player other than the captain gets involved, he will be booked. If it happens a second time he will be booked again and sent off. Can't believe this hasn't been made mandatory by the powers that be.
  2. That reminds me of me when I played - unreal one touch (in 90 minutes) play.
  3. Two Man U players booked for diving last night and neither was called Ashley Young. What odds could you have got on that!
  4. I am definitely not going to see the open-top bus ride to Trafalgar Square.
  5. With all the TV money that's coming to the PL this is not the time to be relegated. The club should spend the family silver to do what is required to stay up, whether its two or three new players or a new manager.
  6. Didn't Robbie Fowler sniff the turf once?
  7. Just watched Bournemouth v Fulham. Fulham were poor and lost 5 - 1 (at home). Bournemouth are a passing side but unlike Everton, their passes are quick and hit hard and 90% are forward. The players are running all the time, no ambling about, and there is always someone in space. I hope Martinez was watching.
  8. There is an article in Telegraph Sport today, primarily about cricket. It said 'Eoin Morgan (England cricket captain) on the radio sounding increasingly like a Dublin Roberto Martinez as he picks out the positives from the latest 9 wickets defeat. Sounds like our Roberto is getting a bit of a reputation.
  9. Naismith should be played as second striker, picking up Lukaku's lay-offs. (By Lukaku's lay-offs I mean where he tries to trap the ball and knocks it five yards away).
  10. My son, who lives in Nottingham (not an Everton supporter) took my grandson (is an Everton supporter) to the Stoke game last night. His (neutral) view of the game is that apart from a few players Everton seem tired and uninterested. When Mirallas came on near the end he just strolled around looking as though he wanted to be somewhere else. It is clear that Everton are not playing to their potential and that can only be down to one man - Martinez.
  11. According to BBC stats, 55% possession and 1 shot at goal - sounds familiar.
  12. Had my CT scan on 2nd January. Had not had any results so phoned the Hospital two weeks ago, they said they would investigate. Heard nothing. Phoned again today and they said they would look into it and get back to me. The Consultant phoned me, most apologetic but said the scans were clear. Obviously very relieved with the news but a bit miffed it took so long.
  13. Scottish League. Hearts player scored a hat-trick in four minutes against Cowdenbeath in their 10 - 0 win.
  14. Just read about an American guy who is going to swim the Pacific Ocean. I thought it was a wind-up but he has already swam the Atlantic Ocean. He starts from Tokyo in July and his route takes him through the migration area of the Great White Shark. I'm having a bath a bit later.
  15. Couldn't understand Martinez putting Gibson on with only seven minutes to go. That's subbing for subbing's sake, if it wasn't for an injury then there was no logic to it.
  16. According to BBC stats we had more possession than Arsenal in the first half. We don't seem to have done much with it though as we only had two shots, neither on target. Arsenal had seven with less possession.
  17. I must find out when the open top bus ride to Trafalgar Square is scheduled for so that I can be somewhere else.
  18. Great news Mike, really pleased for you. Rubes, keep digging in, you are getting there - well done. (no 'thumbs up' in the emoticons?)
  19. TonkaRoost, thanks. Got a small blemish on my cheek which I can't get rid of. Having it taken off to be on the safe side. The Doc asked me if I spent a lot of time in the sun. I told her that I spent two years in Singapore and Malaya during my National Service but the sun doesn't shine much in the jungle.
  20. Had an appointment at a Hospital in Windsor. I know parking is a nightmare (only about 100 spaces) and my appointment letter advised against driving and recommended public transport. However, from Maidenhead this is not a viable option. I decided to go by taxi which cost me £15 each way. When I arrived at the Hospital there were only about six cars in the car park. All the departments were closed except the one I was attending. :shaking fist:
  21. Uefa let them off the Financial Fair Play charge - what a surprise.
  22. I played a billiards match in the knock-out competition this afternoon. Won and am now in the semi's. I then played two frames of snooker and I am cream crackered. Back aching, knees aching, neck aching. No fun getting old.
