  1. Sending you perserverance and strength from afar, my friend. Glad you've landed on a good day. Just focus on letting the chemo and radio therapy knock this shit back to oblivion.
  2. Agreed, me and my buddy watch the game on tape delay and were commenting on exactly that problem. Some times fun to watch but ultimately they pass themselves into nowhere.
  3. Everton 2 - 1 Crystal Palace Mirallas

    Spurs Away

Spurs website says Dembele will play. Bad for us, as when he's on, he can be pretty comandeering...hopefully he'll be off.
  5. Tuesday 30 July in San Francisco. Saturday, 3 August, Los Angeles, Tuesday 6. Wednesday 7 August, Miami Makes sense to not play in the northeast of the USA as there are very few people in that barren depauperate region...for fuck sake...now I have to drive/fly to Miami
  6. Welcome to TT. Good to have you here.
  7. I never liked seeing the Nike swoosh in anything that has to do with football. I associate Nike with many other sports, but I never liked their intrusion into football (even though they make some nice products). To me, football = adidas, puma, umbro, mitre, kappa, patrick, etc., but not Nike. And yes, I realize this is irrational (and a losing battle) but it's just something about them being both new and American and intruding into this time-honored sport.
  8. Tragic and unnecessary. A real talent, easily one of the best actors going today. RIP.

    Spurs Away

I'm actually pretty confident about this one. Spurs have a -1 goal differential--odd for a 6th place team--and they have real trouble scoring goals. Soldado is largely ineffective and Adebayor is unpredictable. I think we can shut down their attack and get one or two on the other end.
  10. One week I hate the baggies for a draw, the next week I love them for the same result. Well done Vic (and Kolo)
  11. Yep, this victory is especially sweet in light of the other results. Unfortunately, I couldn't watch the game...gonna try and watch is later on line.
  12. A lot of stuff really miffs me, great and small. Here's a partial list off the top of my head: Jerk-off clueless rednecks who don't use turn signals Multiple magazine subscription inserts per issue People who own dogs and treat them like shit The fact that in 1975 no one had to pay for television but in 2005 we do Deviations from my regular bowel movement schedule Flying, airports, airlines, the whole frickin concept of air travel Youthful insouciance Sanctimonious old farts Misplacing items that I carry regularly (keys, wallet) Being lectured about "this is good wine/beer...here's why" Over-packaged store-bought items (why wrap it in cellophane, encase it in carboard, seal it in plastic, then send it home in a bag...why?) Pointless and redundant iTunes updates Devaluation of electronic items 6 months after I purchase them The fact that we haven't eradicated the Taliban Having different electrical outlets across different continents Pointless paperwork at all levels Webpages that load videos automatically
  13. Wow...crazy pictures. I read about this but your pictures bring this more to life. Glad you're safe. I can't imagine being a car insurance rep right now...phone ringing off the hook with all those fender benders.
  14. Not much to add that hasn't been said. Villa are an unpredictable team that often does better away than home. Gonna be a hard fought match, and I really hope we can get a win. Depends on which villa shows up, the one that beat the gunners or city or the one that runs around the pitch without ideas, such as when they lost to Palace.
  15. Series that I've been enjoying recently include, The Killing (a moody crime drama takes place in Seattle) House of Cards (US based political thriller stuff) Also just got into "Ripper Street" and watched a bunch of "Luther" both great in my opinion. Tried to get into "Battlestar Galactica" but it just didn't work for me...it's decent but fantasy or space genres don't really work for me (e.g., never really got into any of the Star Trek series). Comedically, "It's always sunny in Philadelphia" is one of my favorites, and I've been watching "Burning Love" (available online) which is a funny paradoy of "the Bachelor".
  16. The best possible news in light of this terrible injury.
  17. It will be interesting to see these results analyzed and published. Good luck.
  18. So with these three new television broadcasts Everton receives an additional 12.7 million per broadcast...is that what this means?
  19. I actually didn't mind the tricks or showboating too much, and my recollection is that during the game there weren't too many one-touch crosses into the box as the pitch seemed to make those one-touch opportunities less-than-ideal (most goals were through the middle), so to me he looked like he was trying to beat a guy to create space for a better cross.
