    YESSSSSSSS!

As exciting as this is (not because people lost their jobs) but because of what it could signal moving forward I still think we're beyond incompetent. Why issue this statement and include a statement about the Chairman in the next 48 hours? We can't even sack people correctly. But if in 48 hours BK is out, then and only then, will I have some hope for the future. As long as Farhad is majority owner we're destined for mediocrity...or worse as we've seen the last two years.

  2. Catch all thread for important news this summer. Kits, tour/friendlies, PL fixture release etc.

Last summer kits were released: Home July 1, Away July 18, Third August 11.
Nothing at all on what the first team is doing for preseason tour/friendlies. Last summer we played two friendlies in the States July 16 and 20, and two in England July 24 and 29.
PL fixtures released Thursday June 15. Season starts Saturday August 12.

  3. Know we've got the other two threads with transfers/targets but hoping we can relocate those convos here. I firmly believe if we sign a very good CB and ST this team can compete in the top half of the table.

    GK: Pickford JVirginia
    Fullbacks: Patterson Mykolenko Nkounkou
CBs: Tarkowski Holgate Keane Godfrey Branthwaite
CMs: Onana Doucoure Iwobi Gueye Garner Dele Gomes Gbamin
    Wingers: McNeil Gray
    ST: DCL Maupay Simms

Out of contract: Begovic Lonergan Mina Coleman Coady Vinagre Davies Townsend
Returning from loan: JVirginia Branthwaite Nkounkou Gbamin Dele AGomes

Sell: Holgate, Keane, Dele, Gomes, Gbamin, Maupay
Sign: focus almost all of our efforts on CB and ST. Depth - Coleman, LB to compete with Myko, young CDM to spell Gana, another striker so we never have to see Maupay again and a backup GK (JVirginia won't want to be on the bench all year).

    Names to watch:
ST: Nketiah, Broja, Okafor, Sesko, Weghorst
W: Hudson-Odoi, Cowell, Kent, Aaronson, Barnes, Talles Magno, Adama
    MID: Adams, Romeo Lavia, Musah
DEF: Guehi, Tapsoba, Hincapie, L Kelly, Bertrand, Castagne, KWP, Cresswell

Weghorst isn't sexy but he'd do a job in Dyche's system and rarely gets hurt - if FFP is an issue. I think we should go in for Broja.
Kent on a free would be good business, or Adama as wasteful as he can be I think he'd help us. Aaronson and Barnes if the price is right after relegation. Also watch out for Cowell and T Magno here in MLS. Cowell has extremely raw talent and if Dyche could school T Magno he could be a world class LB - think Alphonso Davies.
I'd sacrifice one of my nuts for Tyler Adams. Dude can play and is the perfect #6 for us. Romeo Lavia might have better suitors.
Guehi would be my ideal CB but again he might be chased by bigger clubs at this point. Tapsoba and Hincapie have a great partnership at Leverkusen. Was impressed with Lloyd Kelly every time I saw him this season. Bertrand/KWP as cheap versatile depth fullbacks. Castagne if the price is right would be a great LB. Cresswell on a free if FFP is an issue.

Depth at the end of the window:
GK: Pickford, Backup GK, some old guy
Fullbacks: Patterson, Coleman, Mykolenko, LB on loan/free
CBs: New signing, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Godfrey
CMs: Onana, Doucoure, Gueye, Garner, Davies
    Wingers: Iwobi, McNeil, Gray
    ST:  New signing, DCL, Simms/Cannon

Broja, Guehi, Adams, one of (Kent, Adama, Aaronson, Barnes), 3 depth signings, selling Holgate Keane and Maupay and I'd be over the moon.

Was curious if there is a trend in promoted sides immediately being relegated so did a little digging. Bolded are teams that only lasted one season in the league.

    14/15: Hull, Burnley, QPR
    15/16: Newcastle, Norwich, Villa
    16/17: Hull, Boro, Sunderland
    17/18: Swansea, Stoke, West Brom
    18/19: Cardiff, Fulham, Huddersfield
    19/20: Bournemouth, Watford, Norwich
    20/21: Fulham, West Brom, Sheffield
    21/22: Burnley, Watford, Norwich

17/18 is an anomaly, if trends hold it will be Forest, Bournemouth and Southampton relegated. While we should be confident we're certainly not out of the woods yet. COYB.

Regardless of who goes down it will match the 17/18 anomaly. All 3 promoted sides guaranteed safety.

    Original projected points: 36 points
    Current projected points: 36 points

    Forest (16th on 33pts) - Arsenal (h), Palace (a)

Got the point we needed against Wolves. It gives us options to survive even with a draw in the final match. Win against bournemouth gets us to the projected 36.

I was wavering a bit about Dyche but yesterday was sensational - the best we have played in years. What he has done with McNeil is unbelievable. Doucoure, too. If he can get the players to play like that more regularly, we'll be having conversations about Europe - and not just where we're going on holiday.

Good lord, can we just avoid relegation first :) this is far from over. Let’s revisit on May 28.

  7. 4 teams for 2 spots: Us, Leicester, Forest, Leeds.
    leicester away 1 (1)
    Brighton away 0 (3)
    city home 0
    wolves away 1

    Leeds (19th on 30pts) - Newcastle (h), West Ham (a), Spurs (h)

  8. Will continue to support him. That said the red flags are increasing with alarming frequency. To continue to play Keane, at all, is nothing short of appalling. Godfrey is not a fullback, and never will be. The lack of and, when they are made, questionable subs has serious Bobby Brown Shoes vibes.

If Keane starts at Brighton and anyone but Patterson is playing at RB I'll be f***ing fuming.

  9. 4 teams for 2 spots: Us, Leicester, Forest, Leeds. Very small chance West Ham get dragged back in.

  10. The loss to Fulham leaves us royally fooked. Palace and Wolves basically safe. Bournemouth and West Ham need 3-4 points from their remaining 7/8 fixtures. Leicester still scare me. So two of Leeds, us, Forest and Leicester go down.

Massive fixutres coming up: Leicester-Wolves, Bournemouth-West Ham and Leeds-Leicester.

27 points from 31 matches leaves us at 33.1 points after 38 matches.

  13. Haven't won in the league at the Bridge since 1994!!!! Didn't do the research on the other grounds but this has to be our worst away record. Winless in our last 27 league games there, and if you add in the cups we have 1 win at the Bridge in our last 33 visits (FA Cup replay in 2011). We managed to score a goal in our league game there last season for a 1-1 draw, prior to that we went 5 league visits without even scoring a goal. Sorry for the doom and gloom but if anyone thinks we will get a point or three this weekend I definitely want whatever you're on.
