  1. Exactly I’m not knocking him for trying and failing, and the next owner or owners will be in it purely for the business opportunity, unless of course there’s a billionaire Everton supporter out there who wants to invest emotionally and buy the club.
  2. I don’t know the definitive answer for how they estimate the number of kids with betting accounts, but I will look into it and see if I can get some answers. Children do have bank accounts that come with charge cards, and maybe some open on line accounts illegally with banks as they obviously do with gambling sites by fabricating their age. The fact is children are being introduced to gambling sites by heavy advertising portraying gambling as fun, with most giving the warning when it stops becoming fun stop, which is really saying gambling is fun. If there was no gambling advertising do you still think that the figures reported would be as high as they are for children. The selling of tobacco is a legal business in this country but any form of advertising has a complete ban, and yes many children still start smoking but they haven’t been hooked by the advertising industry, they have started smoking because they see their peers doing it whether rock stars parents or sports stars, they are learning by being surrounded by people who smoke. If gambling sites weren’t allowed to advertise they would struggle to learn the existence of places that take bets which would protect them going down that route, and because they aren’t going to witness their peers participating in the act of placing a bet they aren’t going to be immersed in the gambling culture by others. 41,000 children in this country haven’t been introduced into gambling by their parents it’s been because of advertising.
  3. Moshiri is a business man who owns EFC he bought the club solely from a business angle, there was no emotional attachment just a calculated risk that hasn’t come off for him, but in business nothing is guaranteed so he won’t be phased by his losses if he doesn’t believe in this deal any longer or doesn’t want to risk more of his money he will want to negotiate away out even if he suffers a loss.
  4. If you don’t get that emotional connection it’s understandable you wouldn’t get that feeling. At least you’re saving yourself from constantly being disappointed
  5. Agreed, a vast majority of Americans don’t think like her, they see equality for all. It’s a very slow process and been hundreds years in the process and may never end, but that doesn’t mean people should give up the fight for equality for all it means we should fight even harder.
  6. Do you mean all things or just football when you say you don’t understand national pride? I personally do care about me country and I am proud to be English although I do confess the actions of some leaves a sour taste in my mouth at times, for me national pride isn’t measured by supporting a national sports team. Ukrainians for me epitomise what a sense of national pride means, to defend with your life freely your country when it would be easier to walk away shows what it means to love and be proud of your country, and for your actions to make it a better place. For me if your country offers you freedom and security and a sense of belonging and a place where your children have an opportunity to become what they want, and the opportunity to speak out and change injustices, and acknowledge it’s historical failings and try to improve by it’s mistakes, then I’m proud to be an individual of that country and rejoice in telling the world where I’m from. But like you’re self my sense of pride doesn’t manifest itself in a sports team it for me goes far deeper than that.
  7. What about banning gambling advertising in this country to protect children between 11-16 who have opened accounts on line, we are estimated to be at 41,000 and rising.
  8. Something tells me no one will be really bothered he’s stepped down, on the contrary I think most Welsh supporters will be quite pleased
  9. Well when Walsh said it a couple of years ago defending his claims that he was hamstrung by Moshiri and Kenwright, the 4 people involved besides himself never denied it didn’t happen, from what been happening with Moshiri and Kenwright when it comes to over ruling DoF and managers I’m very much inclined to believe him.
  10. Sadly Walsh had a 15-16 year old Haaland sat in his office with his dad prepared to sign a contract but Moshiri and Kenwright wouldn’t sanction it, oh well shit happens.
  11. I would give him his opportunity as back up to DCL instead of Rondon or buying another bench striker that we don’t have the funds for any way, he’s had some decent loans already and scored where ever he’s been, maybe not prolifically but still gave a good return. Most importantly he is natural finisher and has scored some cracking goals that’s the hardest thing to try and teach how to finish, he may lack some positional sense but with some good coaching and being In and around the first team it can only benefit him.
  12. I think it was originally a bbc article then read it today in a OneFootball article saying it looks like the government will pass the decision before the end of this month.
  13. Looks like we will be looking for new sponsors the government are actually doing the right thing for once, and banning gambling companies from being promoted on shirts, apparently this will be brought in next month.
  14. Some of the stuff posted in rumours should be considered more by those posting, if only to help the world survive by helping to reduce theirs and my carbon footprint.
  15. I hope she was getting a hard time, what Tories don’t seem to understand is that there is a bias towards them based on performance and their leadership. Pleased you had an entertaining time and hope the beer was refreshing.
  16. Your not going to be far wrong mate Mandy filled her car up Tuesday £136.00, I filled mine up yesterday £112.00. Soon they will be doing fuel ️ and energy mortgages on Go compare.
  17. Would like to think 11 points from the first 5 games wouldn’t be to unrealistic, and get the new season started with plenty of confidence. Dreaaammm dream dream dream
  18. I’d don’t care who or where I just want the win.
  19. I haven’t watched an England game since the Euro’s I find it hard to get upbeat about watching England play, even if we have a couple of Everton players in the squad doesn’t make it anymore watchable.
  20. Cloughie was a brilliant manager when he could get his own players in, they would do as he said unlike the big time Charlies at Leeds, gone off piste a bit here Mike but when you mention Forrest in that era I automatically think of Clough.
  21. Just pleased to have allies possibly as gullible as me, don’t feel so lonely now
  22. It could be a missed opportunity Kenyon at least knows how to run a successful football club. The owner and board we have now have failed miserably in the last 6 years, Moshiri has also lost his partner and money man and hasn’t been seen at a game for months, if he is even contemplating selling he definitely sees no future with the club anymore, and let’s be honest there could be far more worse offers that come along that he accepts if this one doesn’t materialise, after all his biggest concern won’t be us it will be getting his and Usmanov’s money back with a bit on top.
  23. The gambling industry spends 1,5 billion on advertising, in this country 60% of profits come directly from 5% of gamblers who are classed as problem gamblers basically addicts. Shockingly it is estimated that there are over 41,000 children between the ages 11 to 16 who have online accounts with gambling companies in the UK, this is due to highly visible advertising and the ease of how to open an online account. Gambling companies have been aware of this issue for years but have not changed their strategy because they are enjoying the higher profits this is creating. If there was ever a good enough reason to stop the advertising of gambling surely the protection of innocent children is more than a good enough reason, frankly I’m disgusted that Everton would go down this route for profits and in danger many youngsters with gambling issues before they’ve even enjoyed a care free childhood, not a good move from a club that calls it’s self the peoples club. I wonder how many children in Liverpool from the ages of 11-16 will have Stake.com accounts in the near future, and will well and truly on their way to becoming the next 5% of problem gamblers that the industry so desperately relies on.
  24. I agree he’s shown very very little in the appearances he’s made, and because he’s made so few that tells me he isn’t performing or standing out in training neither. He wasn’t injured when he came to us he had a preseason at Spurs played a few games and trained for half the season, so I very much doubt it was a fitness issue why he hardly played for 20 plus games league and cup, but more a shitness issue.
