  1. I think you’re asking the wrong people only Benitez can answer that mate.
  2. I really want Kenny to have a worldly he needs to prove he’s a more than adequate stand in for Coleman.
  3. Evidently it isn’t, I think it goes a lot deeper than that, the disparity between white winners and blacks every year is far too big to be just coincidence, unless of course white actors make better actors than blacks, but I don’t hold with that theory so I wish someone could enlighten me as to why the gap is so huge every year.
  4. But let’s not forget his choice. The minute he new Ancelotti was leaving was the same minute he new he wanted to leave. No tears or regrets from me I’m very indifferent to anyone who doesn’t want to be here and give his all to club, so if he has signed for another team then good luck to him and them.
  5. Fair point would people of Black origin feel racially abused if whites had their own award ceremony in a chosen field that excluded blacks. I am very much against racism and very much for equal opportunities so I don’t believe you can have one rule for some and another rule for others. And also no one should have a given right to an award because of the colour of their skin. But I do agree that mathematics has a part to play in it surely the law of averages is a proven law, I would be questioning the judge’s and what the split of whites to blacks on the panel was, also to see what percentage of white judges voted for a black actor against their votes for white actors, and vice versa with black judges, and run this over so many years to see if there’s a common denominator as to why such a high percentage of whites win the awards against blacks Again maths has a part to play in finding if there is a proportionate difference when all the evidence as been collated.
  6. Maybe just maybe against decent teams we will have DCL Richarlison Coleman and Pickford back, do you not think that just maybe that would help make a difference? What you and your fellow cohorts should have mentioned was the lack of depth in the team 3 first team outfield players injured and not a worthy replacement for any of them, and all 3 very much an integral part to this team especially DCL and Richarlison it could easily be argued the best 2 players in the team from last season who have both made a good start this season. To blame Rafa and call him tactically inept for what we witnessed is born out of ignorance to acknowledge the state of the squad not Rafa’s fault, but the fault of 5 managers and 2 DoF who have failed to bring in the right players in the right area’s to give us some decent depth to the team. And not to mention the gaffs by Digne was that because a tactically inept Benitez played him as a LB when he should have played him on the RW, no I don’t think so do you? I suggest all 3 of you were very much hung over from the festivities of the day before ( by the way congratulations to your son and his wife ) and should have had a few more coffees to wake your brain cells up
  7. As we were saying in the other thread he lacks a leader, his one poor game was at RB, not his favourite position as we saw. He is 100% a CB still young and green but with all the talent you need to one day become one of the best, but what he and the team need is a leader to pair up with him someone who reads the game and makes the decisions has a voice, Godfrey gives everything he has he’s a battler doesn’t give an inch he just needs some body next to him on the pitch who can help him develop, Keane and Mina can’t do that they haven’t got there themselves so can hardly teach that type of experience.
  8. I don’t know I thought Townsend and Gray were predominantly brought in to give us width and get decent balls into DCL and Richarlison as we were lacking any decent service to the front 2 and not playing to there strengths, there is definitely a lack of leadership in the back line and we don’t have a decent pairing of CBs imo individually 2 or 3 them can play but together there is very little connection.
  9. Agreed, generally you build a team from the back upwards.
  10. But are we playing that way because our CBs are dictating the way we play, I don’t think Rafa particularly wants to play with only 35-40% possession but with no leadership or decent pairing with our CBs is holding us back.
  11. Also we can’t forget the pairing of Baines and Pienaar and how we would love to see that recreated so for anyone playing in their positions they have a lot to live up to, I thought we had came close to that in Digne on his first season but he hasn’t lived up to the brilliant season since with us. Shame really I see him now as very average LB to be honest he has the ability we’ve seen it, can only think it’s a mentality thing. Baines had years of being consistent with his own game regardless of who or what played around him he never let it effect his own game, shame we haven’t seen that from Digne, I would go as far to say that the best and most consistent LB we had last season was Godfrey, if you have the opportunity to revisit the games Godfrey played as LB you will see nobody got past him he was solid.
  12. Mate I love the banter but sometimes the written word can’t portray the emotions of the spoken word, but I try to see the funny side first where possible, for me being able to take the mick out of someone and for them to take it and respond in a similar fashion gives me a warm and calming feeling we all need a laugh, now stop taking the piss
  13. And the winners of the Right said Fred look a like contest are the Oldfield brothers
  14. The only position I would have picked differently would have been Kenny on the right, I’ve always said Godfrey can’t play there but he can definitely play LB, and possibly toyed with Godfrey for Mina but I would in the end probably gone with Mina based on fitness. Then in hindsight if we had known what a dreadful game Digne would have I would have gone with Godfrey on the left. I wouldn’t have gone with James if I didn’t feel he was fit but if he wasn’t carrying an injury I would have had him on the bench, but whether I would have used him is a different matter. So all in all there wasn’t a lot more Rafa could have or should have done with differently the players at his disposal, but for some individual errors from established first team players we were looking like 0-0 was on the cards, managers can’t be held responsible for the individual mistakes of players that has nothing to do with tactics or setup, unless of course the player or players in question were serial offenders then you could question should the manager be picking them.
  15. This wasn’t a test for the manager you can’t really blame him if he’s got 37% of the first team unavailable through injury, you could call that a failed test if he had 100% of the squad to pick from. That was more a test for the players available to stake a claim in the starting line up and to show how versatile they can be if required to play out of their normal position.
  16. I’ve said it in the past he hasn’t found the form of his first season with us.
  17. Agreed Bill there’s goals in that team.
  18. I’d be more than happy with a battling draw under the circumstances.
  19. Don’t know mate could be not heard that, but also not heard that Richarlison or Pickford have injuries.
