  1. You will love it, hairs will rise on your neck as you climb the steps and see the pitch. I only ever went to one Everton game with my day we battered Chelsea 5-1 in 1970, he was a life long blue but didn’t have time or funds to go regularly. I started taking my son in 2014, Chelsea batted us 2-6 ! I managed to get our names on the ST waiting list and we got our seats in the Top balcony for the 17-18 season, it’s been a great dad lad bonding, ( apart from some results and the 6 months I want to erase from my memory of 17-18) going to every game, he’s nearly 17 now and wants to go to Salford Uni as it means he can get to home games easily. We feel very lucky to be able to get to the games easily from the Wirral. Can’t wait to be able to get back to there and soak up the atmosphere once again.
  2. All true, I just hope he sees it as a welcome break from a busy season, and it doesn’t knock his confidence.
  3. True, but how about not putting ourselves under pressure, we do it far to often and it’s costing us points/games.
  4. Let’s hope we can do the same soon!
  5. I’d like to see him defend his performances, I can’t. Looked marginally better early doors, then reverted to type and crabbed his way from side to side without any end results.
  6. Tom Davies, great delivery for our goal, and seemed to be the only one driving us forward, surprised to see him taken off. the rest Meh
  7. Dunlop, don’t kick an optimist please!
  8. There’s not a lot of pace in our midfield, but man for man we’re better than Burnley, if we remember that we have to play to win rather than expecting it to happen.
  9. He needs to step up and demonstrate he’s worth persevering with, there’s not a lot of pace in the midfield today, I’m expecting Iwobi to pick up that responsibility.
  10. Feck that’s going to be a big miss, time for the other midfielders to step up
  11. He’s morphed in to a crab when he has the ball, the only decent bits are where he seems to want to only run from right to left, and possibly slightly back towards goal, I can’t remember the last time he tried to take a man on down the wing and then put a decent cross in. It’s totally confusing me, the last game he played at Goodison for Arsenal, he came on as a sub and was the only player in their team to run at our defence and cause a few problems, he just doesn’t do it here, and his defensive positional sense is poor, as for putting a tackle in that’s for defenders surely not him ( or so it seems) Ive said it in the match thread, he’s passed up many chances to impress, and hasn’t, time we cut our losses in the summer and move him on.
  12. Only when “sideways” is added on to it ! Need to cut our losses and move him on, of Wenger and Carlo can’t get much out of him, it’s not worth persevering.
  13. Pickford, kept the score to a respectable 2, could have been a lot worse. Allen the only other player to show up after Pickford.
  14. I thought we looked better once we had made the three subs, maybe too late in the game to have any effect, of made at 1-0 we may have clawed our way back in. Iwobi seems determined to miss his opportunities to impress, I really don’t see what he brings to the team, would like to see King start over Iwobi is James is still out. Dust ourselves down and be ready for Saturday.
  15. Wolves season before last at Goodison? Agree he does need to shoot more, all our players do, of ya don’t shoot ya don’t score, Chelsea have and that’s what has given them the lead.
  16. I don’t think Holgate is playing that well, but he’s got Iwobi in front doing a fine impression of running sideways with the ball, or away from it then Chelsea attack ( bar one sliding clearance), put a decent player in front of Holgate and I’m sure he would look a lot better. It’s only 1-0 we’re still in this, but we need to be more decisive with the ball, also need to revert to where we’re strong, getting good crosses in to the box for DCL and Richy.
  17. 0-2 to us please that’s what I e predicted. It’s going to be a tough game, if we hold our nerve we can do it
  18. So let’s not mention him then, please...this is Carlos thread
  19. Pretty much like the rest of the team tonight,!
  20. Richarlison, got the winning goal and was the more threatening of the forward all game.
  21. And I was over confident in getting 3!
  22. We were a long way from being pretty or good, but we’ve done it again and taken the three points, let’s take it and move on to another win on Monday, if we keep getting the points who knows what will happen.
