So so so happy tonight, tense game but I had a feeling it would be our day, too scared to say it out loud to my son. I could watch the players reactions all night, I’m sure Ben Godfrey had a look of tears in his eyes at the end, The subs by Carlo was superb, Gomes looked disappointed of coming off probably because he knew he’d let the side down with the booking and could perform better but he was hampered by being on the yellow card, Gylfi ran his socks off which you should expect, and came up with a fantastic penalty which secured the game for us. When Dom came on we looked even more threatening as it gave us a real outlet for clearing the ball out from our own half and caused lots of problems for their defence, in turn taking the pressure off ours. from front to back everyone played really well, yeah there were a few issues and few mistakes but you’re going to get that in every game let’s live with it, especially impressed with Pickford having had a wobbly few weeks, he came back and was probably at his best that we seen in for a long time with excellent shot stopping, and commanded his area better than we’ve seen recently, without the flapping and the overexcitement which I think can, and does, upset the back four In front of him, just so solid brilliant throughout. I think I might just have a few drinks tonight after that cheers lads enjoy it.

Doucoure will be blamed for Henderson injury no doubt, and they then show Van Dyke on close up!

Need to put pressure on Kabak and Henderson could be their weak spot. FFS only two mentions of VVD and the injury in the last minute!

Anyone still think Richarlison can lead the front line? Failed to even jump for any balls played up to him in the air, that aside we were piss poor from front to back apart from Coleman and Davies, can’t understand why they were pulled over others. If only we had Siggurdson, Gomes, and Holgate on the pitch we would have been a shoo in to win.....

Doucoure is no slouch. Looks like King is still getting up to PL match fitness, hope we come out of the blocks with the pace and intensity to get a couple of quick goals and settle the game down, get the game sorted and give Allen and King a run out ahead of Citeh.

Missing for 2/3 of this season and almost half of last, provides some comfort apart from paying his wages, He adds absolutely nothing positive to us IMO.

Son is an exceptional player, ( taking aside his “tackle” on Gomes which was just below where I sit and horrific to witness) and leaves many for dead, I wouldn’t crucify Tom on that, but he could have done better I agree, as it was clear to see what he was going to do.

I doubt he’s match fit for 90 mins, I expect him to be either be subbed off after 60 mins or come on for last 30

Tom like most of the team, looks like he is benefiting from having an experienced manager at the helm, I think Tom has had 5 managers since that goal against Man City, lack of stability and direction will have had a huge negative impact on him. Carlo has taken him out of the limelight for a while and has slowly reintroduced him, ( without the crowd who historically have given him a hard time, me included, but I groan at every bad pass) . I don’t think he will become a superstar, but will develop into a solid player who we can depend on. I like McTominay from what I’ve seen, not sure about the other 2 though.

Anyone fancy taking Lloris? I said it earlier this week, every keeper has a mistake in him, as does every player, it’s highlighted in a keeper as it tends to lead to a goal against.

Tom Davies for me, only seemed to have one thing on his mind, to drive the team forward, the improvement in his game over recent weeks has been immense. Another team performance which makes it harder to single out one player for MOTM, long may it continue.
