Couldn’t agree with you more Shukes. Merry Christmas all COYB -
I wasn’t aware I was one of Pickfords most prolific haters, and don’t think I am, but feel free to back up your belief. As I was at the game last night, like all games I attend I don’t bother posting during the game as I’m there to watch it, not bury my head in my phone, and last night due to the small crowd the public transport was quick back into town where I’d left my car so didn’t get a chance to post anything, again I apologise. I will say it again the whole team were awful for the first 20 mins, Olsen kept us in the game, we had a lean sheet at 88 mins. I do point the finger at Pickford when I feel due, which is only recently as there’s a pattern to the mistakes he makes.
-
Palfy, the whole team was crumbling for the first 20 mins, we all defend Pickford when he’s left exposed, Olsen was exposed by his teammates over and over, I’m amazed we went in at 0-0.
-
It wasn’t a bad game from him, just a poor start along with everyone else, we looked like a pinball machine, could keep the ball in any shape or form. After the shakily start he was very good, always seemed to be where he needed to be, making some stuff look easy.

Man of the Match v Mancester United (Caraboa Cup)

It’s good to have an opinion, it might be always be the same as others, better than being a sheep though. Agreed on the game, it really could have gone one way or the other, same it went against us, guess that’s part of being Everton. -

No, and I’m being straight up, if we had conceded in the first half we would have been battered last night, he kept us in the game with the pint bank saves from Cavani at his left post, and we were level at 88 mins with a chance to win. I was lucky enough to be there last night, top balcony right up in the gods near Gwladys St end, so I’m giving my view point of being there rather than a TV feed. -

Olsen, whilst he was very poor in the first 10 mins, as was everyone else, he got his act together and we settled down. Made a couple of point plank saves keeping it level until the break. Siggy, Godfrey and Keane close contenders, Doucoure would be there also but he pulled out of a couple of tackles he should have won imo. -
Cavani was a constant threat last night, you know the rest.

Hope Leeds come out strong in the second half and make this a tough game for them. -
DCL gets my vote, created the first and was a constant threat up front, but once again a solid team performance apart from a couple of wobbles.
-
He’s become a beast to play against, even when he’s not scoring he’s creating panic and is a threat, as for his slowing the game down when we need the pressure off, he’s just brilliant. A poor game IMO but another 3 points, aannnd I’m off the the old lady on Wednesday, got lucky in the ballots second draw, I’ll be singing all game long
-
Me too, thought he ran into Toms leg, other than that he’s been solid and was involved in the move for the first goal.

Everton 3 Arsenal 0 DCL

First vote for him was from me and I explained why as did Cornish. it’s not a dig at Pickford, purely an observation. He made 3-4 saves including Vardys header, nothing world class but looked and acted solid, helping to give confidence to his back 4. Most of not all have commented each game on Pickfords wobbles in one way or another.
-
I’ve gone out on a limb as the team once again played as a unit and voted for Olsen. I think his calming presence helped the back four in being solid, something I don’t think Jordan does. Allan was bossing the game before coming off, and Doucoure stepped up and played the sort of game I’ve been expecting him to play, Iwobi ..... who would have thought he would be turning out performances like the last couple of weeks earlier in the season. Carlo brilliantly managed the game.

Great result, 2 points off the top at the moment, the leagues there for the taking this season. -

Lucky Really? Coleman, Digne, James, Gbamin, plus Delph but that’s been to our benefit. -

Enjoy it and make loads of noise, I’m still waiting for mine to be drawn out.

Richarlison

He needs a goal for his confidence, his finishing has been off the past few games, all other parts OK -
Difficult one this, but on balance feel the need to post it....

Just caught up with this thread, lovely thing from Matt for a fellow blue -
Agree with everyone, after the last two games, he’s starting to find his feet and settle in to the side even though he’s been playing different positions, long term Ben and Mason could be a very athletic and composed pairing of CBs

And to raise his fitness so he can do it for a full 90, as do a number of our squad. -
Dominic Calvert-Lewin

I agree with all 5 posts above, he was once again so important to us last night. I don’t think I’ve ever see a player win an aerial duel and his own knock on so many times, he’s done it all the time he’s been at Everton, usual on the wing in his early days, now it’s more central. I think there’s still flaws in his game, his distance shooting needs work, but in the box he’s like Lineacre but a hugely bulked up version, and in the air probably the best in the PL, and so strong, Mendys assault ( should have had a yellow at least) for the pen would have left many needing treatment, but Dom gets up smiling I was wincing watching MOTD when they were talking about MU needing a proper CF fully expecting them to say they needed to go for Dom
