Excitement building for today's game. 1st time back to the ground since pre-pandemic and can't wait to see ans join the atmosphere. Hope Frank can start well.

Tell that to West Brom fans.
Different time and place for them tho. It was for us at the time we approached him.

Out of curiosity, which hire would not have been a roll of the dice?
For us in the recent past: I'd say Fat Sam (guarantee for safety), Roberto (turned out as you'd expect) and Carlo.
Current Prem managers: Conte, Tuchel, Gerrard, Klopp, Moyes, Pep, Rodgers. These are not rolls of the dice and are giving what you'd expect or more in terms of team output.
We just seem to be clinging on with hope.
Guess I'm just fed up of being here again, and likely again in 9mths time or being happy breaking into top 10 again.
I'm not a glass half empty - just not feeling it with Lamps.

Think we all need to recalibrate here... how often have we been here and got giddy with the thoughts of the new man coming in and how hes perfect for us, and that on reflection a real asset.
I don’t see it with Lampard based on his past achievements in management, his links to Chelsea or that he has no links to EFC. He is a gamble, a roll of the dice.
I'm happy he’s been chosen from that shortlist (if the list was true) but just shows much of a let down and reality check the status our club is in with that being our shortlist of managers to appoint. We’re back to the Smith to Moyes era. Moyes worked out well and so certainly hope Frank will too (when confirmed), but it’s a roll of a dice time and Moyes could have balls it up too. Let’s hope Frank works out like Moyes.
Another cross roads moment and these are happening all too frequently

Is it bad to feel not arsed about any of this currently?

Heading on target has been awful today.
In fairness the squad have not been trained to react / play for cross's in past 2 seasons

Gotta make this momentum count

Good midfield battle here

I just want all negative energy away from the squad myself. Probably only leave 10 members of the squad.
Who are the Magnificent 10 Haf?
Jordan, Godfrey, Mina, Gordon, Townsend, Richy, Gray, DCL...... Coleman, Gomes?

Bloody hell, you leave the bar at 9pm too?
It’s only early mate.Just realistic....who's left to pick a player to sign or sell? Rhino?
New manager will not be in place come end of window and no caretaker will be given this power

Apologies if this has been started / touched on already somewhere but I could not see any discussions when scanning through.
Been switched off a bit to all that has been going on and the results etc... in the last couple of months. It was only going one way!
Now with the mess, some say crisis, in place I'm switched back on again.
We have to get this next phase in our chapter seriously right and the board need to seriously wake up and smell the coffee!
Not sure any of us really know the state the club is in but from what seems to have happened in the last month or two is a complete desperation trust in a Benitez set-up which has ended up with egg on faces. We have no DoF (although what Brands did or was allowed to do, is highly debateable) to advise on footballing matters, we have no scouting structure, we have no medical team, we have sever restrictions due to FFP - we have little to no funds for recruitment, we've now got to pay out again against FFP to pay off Benitez and his chosen men, we have moved along a quality player (Digne) for an average fee and replace him with a gamble that has to work as there are no other LB choices at the club, we also have a board performing strategic reviews of the club / business - but making no progressive steps, we also have zero comms coming out from the club to fans, we potential could lose our young stars again on frees due to their lack of use.
Much as I am excited about our new stadium being built - I dont want to see another drone footage update of it for some good PR for the club.
How worried should we be and how desperate are the board now?

Back pass was a massive brainfart. Got done on the wing far too easily in the first 10 minutes failed to stop the cross that led to the first goal.
It was naive of us to expect this lad to come into this league and be able start straight away. He’s got a long way to go and I just hope his confidence isn’t knocked.
If only we kept Digne to teach him the ropes until the summer.....

May as well close down this thread.....our business is done for this window I would think.

Potter I think is the only realistic choice on that list - Ferguson / Rooney I dont think are ready for it. Much as I idolise Dunc, I think he does need to go to another lower league club to earn some stripes in management with the goal to come back and manage us in the future. Rooney appointment scares me..... plus if he does a decent job I dont see him knocking back future job offers from other top 6 clubs. We will be his stepping stone again.
My want in the summer was Galtier - I would still like this now as hes doing wonders again in the French league. Difficult to get him now I would think. Plus part of me thinks he may not want to coach in the Prem or certainly may not want to touch us with a barge pole.

Ughhhh 4-4-2 by looks of it....
Norwich 2 - 2 Everton

He's improving - I think he'll come good and score an important goal or two this season when needed. Think his role is going to be a super sub for us.

Whats the latest/current criteria to enter the ground on match day guys?
Trying to arrange the annual visit with my daughter (U16) who will not have been vaccinated and just want to know what you do and dont need? Do vaccinated adults also need to show negative test results prior to the game?
