  1. Haven’t had chance to see/read anything about tonight’s game yet (working) but it’s another point in the bag and a step closer to ensuring safety. Watford was the game where I thought we’d get all 3 points, get us a bigger gap between Leeds/Burnley. Chelsea did us a favour though, Leeds look shot but I’d rather we take care of our own business through good results than relying on others mucking it up. 4 more points and we’re guaranteed premier league football next year

  2. So far so good lads, we’ll have complete control of our destiny if it stays like this. Win our game in hand and it’ll be a 4 point cushion. I reckon if this result stays as it is it could get Rodgers the bullet which will make a pleasant change from Frank being under pressure

I think your last point is very valid and has also been going through my mind. Put yourself in the Burnley camp right now and imagine what they might be saying to each other:

'If we can get 3 points at Watford on Saturday that will put us 5 points ahead of Everton who don't play until Sunday. That will psychologically destroy them.'

It is up to us to be mentally strong and believe in ourselves when we run out onto the pitch on Sunday. If we are 2, 3 or even 5 points behind Burnley when we kick off, we will have games in hand and are capable of catching them. We must remain mentally strong and just focus on ourselves.

At one point I thought Leeds were safe but I now think we have an as good or better chance of finishing above them (on 38 points with a better gd) as we have of finishing above Burnley - where I agree that 39 points are probably necessary. I am also a little unsure how Watford will approach their game with Burnley. If they lose, they are just about mathematically down as well as practically down. So if they have any fight left it should be on show against Burnley. On the other hand, if they have already mentally accepted relegation then they may not be quite so committed. This is a big weekend for the bottom five for sure.

Unfortunately I'll have to follow all of this weekend's footie on the internet as we are driving to KL to visit the 'in laws.' Lovely people - not great timing though.

A fake positive covid test could get you out of that trip. Just saying

Yes he has gone down looking for fouls, not gonna dispute that… but loads do it. Connor Gallagher was doing it last night.

The issue is the red influenced media who blatantly ignored Salah doing it for 2 years… they have tarnished him now.

So true. It’s always the populist view that carries more weight. Harry Kane does it and it’s people doing it to the England Captain, the media darling whose shit don’t stink. One of our lads does it and he’s ringing in the death knoll of modern football. It’s a sad reflection of where football is as a sport. The haves and have nots getting treated differently, it’s a fucking joke

palace vs leeds I wasnt so sure.  Leeds did ride their luck a bit but never looked like getting a win at all.

Leeds have had some very fortunate fixtures for the new manager which seems to be giving his some swagger.....  we seen how quick their confidence got shattered when they lose a game or two.  They are playing a rampant Man City side next - that could mentally destroy them,

I can see Leeds going at them which should play into city’s hands, this could be a 5-3 end to end thriller or city thrashing them 7-0.

Exactly they should be focusing on the incident in front of them with an open mind, and not harbouring any preconceptions based on anything from the past.

The trouble with that is that the referee shit his pants when faced with making the right decision. VAR can then use their favourite narrative “clear and obvious” to back their drinking buddy. If the gobshite had have given the penalty the same rule would’ve applied and the penalty would have stood. The best thing we can do now is park the injustice we feel and move onto focusing on Chelsea. We have a serious opportunity to get something from this game as they’ve struggling for consistency at the moment. Let’s leave it out of the VAR booth and score some goals

We need something here. Chelsea have United 2 days before us so there’s a chance we won’t get their first team.

We simply have to get at them here. Richarlison can definitely get something out of Thiago Silva - he won’t dominate him in the air so much. If they play the 3 at the back our wingers are pacey enough to really cause them issues. Compact defensive unit but we need players who can play a pass and be efficient with the ball.

                             Pickford

    Coleman      Mina      Holgate*      Myko

                Allan         DVB*        Delph

    Iwobi                                             Gordon

                            Richarlison

Not sure on Godfrey’s injury. Keane could start - all 3 are pretty suspect at the moment any ways. Same with DVB - if he is unfit, I would bring Rondon on, Richie to LW, Iwobi central and Gordon RW.

After the performance we put in against the red shite on Sunday I wouldn’t be surprised if Chelsea went stronger against us than United. We were hard to breakdown and frustrating to play against. This united side have been piss poor since we got a result against them and I wouldn’t back them to beat eggs at the moment. If our injuries get back for the game and we show our resilience I can see us sneaking something. We just need the Chelsea side that played Brentford to turn up

I’m that sick of the current state of the Premier League/Super 6 bollocks that relegation and a Championship adventure is almost appealing. What can we realistically hope for if we stay up? It’s such a closed shop in all domestic competitions and I’m sick of the bias towards the ‘top 6 teams’ - maybe the Super League wasn’t such a bad idea. VAR seems to serve the 6, FFP certainly does and the new 5 sub rule probably will too. Part of me hopes that Lampard and his team stay on if we go down and we clear the squad of any high earners e.g Pickford, Mina, Keane, Doucoure, Allan, Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin and just start over again with a big focus on top quality youth and an acceptance that we are a stepping stone in much the same way Dortmund/RB Leipzig and many others conduct themselves.

2 good examples of a successful business and coaching model. Both of them compete at the top end of their league and qualify for European football every year. It’d be a good foundation to build a future from preferably from the Premier League

He has come into a shit storm. I think he is feeling the hurt of the club. If we go down I hope he will get us back.

I’ll be honest with you now, if the dreaded happens to our club I hope that Frank fucks off into the sunset. We made a good show of ourselves in the first half before it went to shit. Some koppite wanker had the headline from the frigging daily mail stuck to my locker this morning. That cocksucking prick Thiago had 120 successful passes against us and we only had 94 total, ha fucking ha you red nosed twat. We can’t achieve anything without having some control of the ball. It would’ve been suicide to go at them but come in 94 completed passes, that’s embarrassing. Where is the pride? Who is committed to our cause? Who would bleed for our club? My biggest fear going in to the final 6 games is that Frank is out of his depth here and that’s leaving us swinging in the breeze

If you want to be a kopite on here then fine. Just front up and stop trying to make the odd post appear like you give a shit about Everton.

    Alternatively just go to rawk.

btw just do you know - the vast majority of the country absolutely despise your club. Fuckin horrible shower, I’d take another 27 years of winning fuck all to be able to say “I’m an Everton fan”

WTF dude!! Being obsessed with the red shite and their fans is doing us no favours. Calling out fellow blues as “kopites” achieves sweet fuck all, his opinion is his opinion just because you disagree doesn’t mean you INSULT him. We can lobby, bitch gripe and moan but at the end of it all the wheel keeps on turning. Every fan of every club can call out similar shit happening to them on different days. It’s shit, it’s wrong but we can do nothing about it, the points are gone. Just hope this crap stops and we can survive this horror show

I can't believe all the defeatism in this discussion. If we make 40 points, or even 38, we'll survive. Why all this talk about Championship lineups? Is this traditional British moaning or are some people having a bad week?

A bad week Steve, try a bad season or 4. We’re going at less than a point a game and you suddenly think that we’re gonna get 9-11 from the last 18!! People are tired of this shite, frustrating isn’t the word while are board and players are getting paid for recycling substandard decisions and performances. Sorry for being a little bit negative but this shit just got very fucking real

The only consolation in going down is that the arrogant idiots running the club and taking “turn eaches” to pick managers and override experts brought in to do a job will get jettisoned.

then again I actually think the shock this battle has provided will knock the apathetic supporters into shape and protests will actually take place rather than being called kopite behaviour.

They wouldn’t care if we protested 24/7 365. The only way this useless shower of pricks is fucking off is if we go down. The premier league is a cash cow for them, when that drys up they’ll leave us in the shite. Worst case scenario I can see is no financial backing from them, spiralling costs then possible administration. This is so fucking grim

We are going to have to rely on Leeds going on a bad run, starting away to Crystal Palace tonight. Unfortunatly, Palace seem to have lost a bit of form and dropping down the table thmselves.

We can only rely on ourselves at this stage of the season. Who has what run doesn’t matter, shock results can happen at any turn. Now it’s eyes on the prize, 18 points to play for and we need to get them by any means possible. We can’t get the points ourselves but us as a collective can get behind our boys and hopefully give them an extra push

At 0-0 I thought we had a chance of nicking a point possibly 3, as soon as they scored that disappeared as they could stroke the ball around across the back, and they started to pull us out of position, creating more space for them to play and creat chances. I’m happy we kept the score down to 2 and not hurting us more with the goal difference.

I will keep having faith we can get the points we need until it’s not possible.

15% possession killed us, we need to mind the ball better. If we do that we can dictate the play in a more positive way and then Gordon will get us chances going forward so we don’t have to feed of scraps.
