  1. If that happens then its no-ones fault but Evertons. Its our ground, we OWN it so surely we have the final decision on who we sell it to. Even if LFC or LCC offer the best price we shouldnt sell it to them.
  2. Too little too late from LCC. Would be great to actually be in Everton but I dont think we'd have the finances (even with the partners listed). From what is mentioned it sounds like this would cost in the region of 300mill. I like the idea of Scotty Rd but fear its lacking in size. Still, some feasibility study and actual proper plans need to be drawn up quickly otherwise its nothing but a pipe dream (will probably put a spanner in the works though regarding the outcome of the vote).
  3. But at the time we moved to Goodison we were only 14 years old and the Football League was a mere 4 years old. Hardly enough time to attach any sentimentality to anywhere. We've now had Goodison as our home for 115 years and its because of this history that people want to stay. But as Ive said before I'd rather us go to Kirkby than end up in Speke (which is probable if Kirkby falls through). AND on the subject of Kirkby and history. DID YOU KNOW that Kirkby is believed to be 1,200 years old (Liverpool only 800 years). AND Kirkby is mentioned in the Doomsday book in 1086 (as is Maghull I might add). Liverpool founded in 1207. History lesson over!!!
  4. I dont want us to leave the city either but at the end of the day Kirkby is scouse and has a Liverpool postcode, L32. Who gives a shit about council boundaries? Well thats what I tell myself but I do give a shit and I care because of the red shite. If they didnt exist 1) Life would be lovely. AND 2) I probably wouldnt be fussed about moving to Kirkby but the shit we'd get from that lot would be unbearable. AND to top it off WE WERE LIVERPOOLS FIRST TEAM. Theyve already snatched the Liver bird logo as their own, pinched Stanley Park, robbed us of conquering Europe, Even deprived us of referring to ourselves as Liverpudlians. Its our town, our city yet I cant bear it if I get called a Liverpudlian. I think theres something fundamentally wrong with that. (Watch it I'm on a rant). Basically I think I'm saying they are a bunch of THIEVES. Which is straying slightly from where I started in this post. P.S. Images of their new ground looks NAFF.
  5. Yep, the only way I see Everton getting a stadium within LCC boundaries is if Tesco are also involved, otherwise its too expensive. SO, I believe LCC should approach Tesco to see what area suits them and if that inturn suits EFC then it could be all systems GO.
  6. It is possible we are NOT moving to Kirkby and its all a bit of a smoke screen. READ ON... Couple of days ago I read something on an EFC site (cant remember which one) below is a summarized version from my limited memory with my own bits thrown in. * It is feasible that cunning Mr Tesco (Sir Terry Leahy) and Everton are pushing with the Kirkby idea to make LCC shit their kecks about losing a business like Everton and the economic benefits that come with such a business. Then at the last minute LCC will come up with an offer of a plan B site. And because theres another viable option on the table in Knowsley, LCC would have to offer a discount deal to keep EFC in their boundaries. THUS Terry Leahy/Tesco/Everton get a cheap bit of real estate IN LIVERPOOL worth considerably more than any land in Kirkby. Perhaps Knowsley will go ahead with Tesco to redevelop Kirkby along with a Tesco wherever our stadium ends up. I'm no business man but that sounds like good business to me. Is there any truth in it?? Probably not, more than likely its fans clutching at straws. Interesting theory though.
  7. Their "new Anfield" looks terrible. Goodison looks more impressive nevermind the proposed Kirkby stadium. That will RUIN Stanley Park.
  8. What are you on about?? To say "We will NEVER challenge Liverpool for anything ever" is simply defeatist. There were probably idiots saying this in the late 70's early 80's but we more than matched them lot under Kendall. Things DO change, and I for one have confidence that they will (otherwise whats the point?). Good WILL triumph over evil, one day.
  9. A stadium in Everton would be perfect. As for Speke, I'd rather us go to Kirkby than down there.
  10. Portsmouth's new ground when built will be the best looking ground in the 1st Division. AS for ours, 2 things; 1) Why havent there been seats incorporated into the corners, isnt that a waste of space? AND 2) How do we all feel about naming rights, do we want to sell out and be the next Emirates/Reebok/JJB. Seeing as (if we moved) we would be moving away from the Walton/Everton area thus in a way slightly losing our identity with the place I would hope we somehow use the name Everton or Goodison along with the new sponsor (dont ask me how exactly). Does the money that would come in with naming rights outweigh dignity?
  11. To go or not to go??? Redeveloping Goodison is what most of us would prefer or perhaps in an ideal world a new stadium in EVERTON!! But thats not going to happen. My mind changes week to week regarding the move, as with most arguments there are pros and cons. The only thing that has me siding towards Kirkby is that I fear if we dont go for the Kirkby option we will one day end up moving to somewhere like Speke. With most of our support north of the City, Speke would be disastrous. I suppose I'd like us to stay but if the vote is for a move to Kirkby then I'll support the move.
  12. Theres largely an 80's flavour to these selections with the odd legend (Ball, Dixie, Young) here and there. SO JUST TO BE DIFFERENT my 5 are from the 1970's. BOB LATCHFORD. DUNCAN McKENZIE ANDY KING MARTIN DOBSON KEN McNAUGHT.
  13. For a while I was annoyed that we've been quiet on the transfer front. and annoyed we missed out on Nugent BUT after actually thinking about the situation ITS NOT ALL BAD. In fact I'm edging towards being optimistic. Vaughn and Victor will be more regular in the first team next season, Cahill will be back, who knows even VDM might get his act together (I'm not holding my breath about that though). With the Jag coming in we should be pretty secure at the back and hopefully that will mean Phil Neville can piss off from any defensive pozzi. FUCK, I'm rambling now. All I'm saying is things should be fine. Imagine if we have a similar season perhaps slightly better than last season on the amount of money we HAVENT spent. Now that would be satisfying.
  14. I wouldve liked him to have joined us, I think he would have been useful. ANYWAY, my prediction is Portsmouth will get relegated and he will have a get out clause in his contract and end up at Goodison (or Tescos) anyway.
  15. There will be injuries at some point, especially with the extra games coz of Europe, so we need someone else coming in. BY THE WAY, Yes, Nugent is a striker but theres no reason why he couldnt do a good job on the wing. He's nippy and is prepared to take players on. (or even in the middle of the park). These players are proffessional footballers. They have "preferred" positions, but as pro footballers they should fit in a number of positions. The only No-no is attackers in defenders roles (and vice-versa). Bring Nugent in!
  16. Defoe is not one of my favourite players. I think he is and always has been a greedy get, however I dont think that would be such a bad thing for us. Imagine a centre forward actually prepared to take players on. Who was the last one??? I dont think it will happen though, too expensive. I think we'll be relying on AJ, Vaughan & Victor.
  17. He's not a bad player. Mind you, hes as thick as shit but as long as he performs on the pitch who cares!! However, 'the people' is not the most credible source. So I wont be holding my breath.
  18. Downing for 10mill. This cant be true. I dont rate him. I'd rather us get Nugent or Koumas. Actually both Nugent and Koumas may only amount to about 12 mill so give me that rather than the Downing deal. In the past we've been nobbled at the latter satges of transfers with other clubs coming in and nabbing players. Personally I think this Downing rumour is just some sort of smokescreen to avert attention from our real target (whoever that may be).
  19. All this anti-Liverpool fc stuff makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. The club and mostly their fans behave like spoiled children, and everyone hates spoilt children. Yes, many of us have mates who support LFC, even best mates. but that doesnt stop them being a bunch of moaning bastards. Ungracious in victory and ungracious in defeat sums them up perfectly.
  20. Yeah, 10 mill would be way over the top for Nugent (and Bent for that matter). Dont think Everton would pay that much for anyone at the moment.
  21. Whats so good about Bent?????? What I saw of him at Charlton this season wasnt so impressive, OK he had the odd good game but a few shockers too. AND whats all this rubbish about Nugent not proven at Premiership level. Remember a certain Tim Cahill, he wasnt proven either. Neither was Lescott. If all you want is proven Prem level players then we may as well go back to Walter Smiths policy of getting old farts in. BEATTIE! now hes a proven prem player isnt he, SO Beattie or Nugent???? I know which one I'd prefer. I want Everton to move forward. This means taking the odd risk. Oh and Moyes as a Manager he was unproven at premiership level, he seems to be doing OK so far.
  22. THE Mancs say "96 was not enough". Well, it seems there are some Liverpool fans out there who agree going by the disgraceful behavior of some loveable reds in Athens. Are they trying to top the 100 mark????????
  23. See, sometimes good does win over evil. I noticed Fatarse Benitez complaining about the amount of injury time. He had a point but I wish he'd stop moaning. Besides their goal was offside so shut up and I know it will never happen but he should take defeat graciously. Twat. The rest of the week is going to be most enjoyable.
