  1. Yeah, it is a real one. He just tweeted this about 10 minutes ago: "Can't wait for me 1st game in 9 months this month #longwait" http://twitter.com/#!/RBarkley32
  2. IMO get the banner updated for the new kit and also put another one down the bottom of the page? People are always scrolling down so if you've got a second one closer to the last post that people read they'll see the banner more often. Also, just curious as to what benefits TT gets from having the banner on the site and what benefits TT gets when people use the link?
  3. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Manchester-City-Everton-news-Leighton-Baines-target-in-part-exchange-deal-around-10m-and-two-players-potentially-Emmanuel-Adebayor-Craig-Bellamy-Nedum-Onuoha-Shaun-Wright-Phillips-Wayne-Bridge-article753986.html Apparently ready to offer £10mil plus our choice of two of their players. What do you guys think? I wouldn't mind having two from Adebayor, Johnson, Boyata or Onuoha and we'd still have the extra cash to spend on some other players depending on who we get from them. Edit: Throw Kolarov into that list as well. Him plus Adebayor, spend the cash on N'Zogbia and I'd be a happy man.
  4. Haha, basically anything pre-2007 as that's when I started following the club. Would love to watch some of the matches from the '80s as well.
  5. http://www.evertonfc.com/news/archive/2011/06/29/watch-classic-matches As July 1st approaches, I have this feeling that I'm going to be wasting A LOT of time on Everton TV.
  6. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/930885/bill-kenwright-confirms-joseph-yobo-transfer-is-close?cc=5901 Looks like this may finally be coming to an end. Thoughts on the fee? Hopefully it's somewhere close to the 6mil this article says.
  7. That's very true. Still wouldn't mind seeing Dos Santos here though. He ran the show for the Mexicans last night and I'm sure he'd be available on the cheap seeing as he's not rated at all at Spurs. Him and N'Zogbia at either wing would be menacing if Moyes could get him to perform the way he's shown consistently with the Mexican team. Interestingly, Carlos Vela has really fallen down the pecking order with the national team but Dos Santos has always had a place in the starting 11 for them, no matter how little he played for Spurs. He's a player I'd like to see succeed in the English game and I definitely wouldn't mind seeing it happen for Everton.
  8. Went to the game and it was a good one to be at. US ran out to a 2-0 lead within the first 20 minutes or so and Donovan scored the second goal. Mexico stormed back to get it 2-2 by halftime and then just ran the entire second half and ended up winning 4-2. Howard made a really awful decision on their last goal to run out and try to get the ball away from the feet of Dos Santos (of spurs) but couldn't match Dos Santos's footwork and he ended up putting it away in the far corner. Saw someone wearing a Donovan Everton jersey which I was really glad about. The crowd was disgustingly pro-Mexico but luckily I was sitting in a nice little pocket of American supporters. Of course a lot of the Mexican supporters showed their general lack of class, throwing their drinks everywhere whenever they scored a goal. Got beer all over my head after two of their goals which was not fun at all. One thing I will say though is that Dos Santos looked really great in the game today. Great touch and dribbling skills and is insanely quick. The US defense couldn't keep up with him at all. I know he's had a hard time since he's been to spurs but after watching him tonight I'd really love it if he joined Everton. His style of play really reminds me of Ronaldinho in his prime and I really think we could use someone like that on our team.
  9. Sadly, I think you're right, but of course I want to see the USA win. It's my first time going to a national team match so it would nice to see a win. Ironically, we won't have much of a home advantage seeing as Los Angeles is so close to Mexico . That's pretty much the case any time USA plays Mexico anywhere close to the border between our countries though! I don't think ESPN has the rights to it actually. It's been getting coverage on Fox Soccer Channel, which has been around in some form since the early 90's I think. The amount of games being shown on ESPN has been increasing over the past few years, especially now that they've gotten some of the rights to Premier League games. ESPN has had the rights to the last two World Cups but the Gold Cup doesn't garner as much excitement for the casual fan over here so they haven't been showing the games, although they do put the USA results on the front page of the ESPN USA website. Might be a different case for the next Gold Cup, but for now FSC is where it's getting shown. Univision, which as I'm sure you can tell, is one of the nation wide Spanish speaking channels and they have the rights to pretty much all of the important soccer (football, I know) games. They show the Gold Cup because it garners a lot more interest with people living here that have routes in all the Spanish speaking countries (mainly Mexico).
  10. I was surprised one of you guys didn't catch it first!
  11. isn't every player roy hodgson's ever signed considered a 'twansfer'?
  12. i've got tickets for the final so i'm excited to see howard and donovan play on saturday. the game's being held at the rose bowl, which is the same stadium that the world cup final was held in when the tournament was played in the USA back in 1994.
  13. not really what i'd like to hear, nor is it what i think would be best for the club at this point. distin is getting up in years and who know's whether johnny will still be here come the end of summer. i think next season will be the time for duffy and mustafi to start getting some playing time and transitioning to the first team.
  14. not even a mention of us in the clubs interested
  15. wouldn't mind seeing rodwell to chelsea with 10 mil or so and sturridge coming our way. spend the 10 mil on n'zogbia and that'd be a nice bit of business.
  16. seeing how shit our october is reminded me of two seasons ago when we had arsenal, man city, chelsea, man utd and liverpool all within 6 weeks or so of each other. ended up winning 3 drawing 1 losing 1. some results like that from man city through man utd would do us nicely. hopefully the team has got their asses into gear by that time otherwise it'll be nearly impossible to find some form during that month.
  17. only thing i'd say to improve it is to have each goal shown from a few different angles. other than that, quality vid. good job!
  18. the one time I watched him was against arsenal and he got sent off after 5 minutes... but other than that I've only heard good things about him
  19. we got about 2.5 mill from the vaughan sale as far as i've heard. would like to see him here. he's a true winger with loads of pace and has scored some great goals
  20. striker is the one position where we absolutely NEED to bring someone in. I don't want to watch another season of us playing good football in two thirds of the pitch but just not being able to score enough goals regularly. that being said, I would like to see two quality frontmen come in as I think we need to stop over relying on cahill as he's getting up in years and I'd also like to see us play 442 more often. with 4 good frontmen in saha, becks and whatever 2 may come in, combined with cahill, that would give us a lot of attacking options and the ability to change things up in games when things aren't working. all other positions could use strengthening as it's no secret how small our squad is. if the money is there, I wouldn't mind seeing one or two wide midfielders come in as well as cover at left back. don't know why we haven't addressed the left back situation at this point. we've been incredibly lucky over the past two seasons with how consistently fit baines has been but it just takes one small injury to keep him out for a few weeks and we're fucked trying to fill that gap. goalkeeper cover needs addressing as well since turner is gone and it looks as though mucha will be leaving as well. I'm sure DM will find either some young gun or some keeper towards the end of his career that will be happy to sit on the bench.
  21. Nigel Reo Coker? Seb Larsson? both just released from villa and brum respectively. alos, anyone you'd like from the teams that were just relegated?
  22. correct me if i'm wrong but haven't we now won every game we've played against city since lescunt left?
  23. "The club’s manager Kurban Berdiyev has admitted he tried to sign Bilyaletdinov from Everton in the winter and is keen to make big moves when the Russian transfer window reopens in August. ‘We were negotiating with Bilyaletdinov, but he didn’t want to come,’ said Berdiyev, but the 26-year-old midfielder may reconsider at the end of the campaign after starting just nine Barclays Premier League games this season." From the way he puts it, it seems like we accepted a bid from them and allowed them to offer Bily a contract but Bily was the one who decided he would stay. Not sure if it's true, but if it is then that must have sent a strong signal to Bily although he has been playing quite a bit more since the winter transfer window.
