  1. Maestro, please! Federer has just whopped Djokovic 3-1. Murray won't have a chance if he plays like that in the final.
  2. Booh! My bad, hadn't realised he'd already found a club.
  3. Tina Fey fans enjoy http://youtu.be/dYuyv_2zCNc?t=4m57s
  4. I see Baxter in the mould of Scholes, ability gap wise (once he reaches his prime), I believe he'll be roughly what Osman is to Iniesta.
  5. Just going through the team and we look in pretty good shape for next season Gk: Howard, Mucha ~ Fine, unless there is a better keeper than Howard is available RB: Hibbert, Neville, Coleman, Browning ~ No need to find anyone LB: Baines, Neville, Distin, Garbutt ~ Low priority, unless Baines goes or has a long-term injury RCB: Hietinga, Jags, Duffy ~ Quality LCB: Disin, Heitinga ~ Low priority, only if a free transfer DM: Gibson, Junior ~ Good CM: Fellaini, Osman, Rodwell ~ Quality RM: Naismith, Osman, Coleman ~ Good enough, medium priority. Players that would improve: s-t Weiss, l-t Donovan LM: Gueye, Osman, Anichebe ~ High priority. s-t Pranjic (can cover LB and in the middle),Barnetta, l-t Hoilett AM: Cahill, Fellaini, Barkley ~ Low priority. Only need a short term replacement as Cahill is too old to start every week and Barkley too young. Ideal player to improve us: s-t Dempsey FW: Jelavic, Anichebe, Naismith, Vellios, McAleny, Hope ~ Low priority only if a better player than Jela becomes available Possible Outs: Yobo, Cahill, Silva, McAleny, Coleman = est £10 mil; wage = -100/week (Yobo not included as not here last year) In: Donovan(assuming free from xmas), Pranjic (or Barnetta), Dempsey, Hoilett (or Weiss) = est. £10 mil; wage = 180k/week Investment needed: £4 million to cover wages, possible covered by new tv deal. Personally think all are possible with admittedly Dempsey and Coleman being a long shots, but still viable. I'd have included Elia as a long shot to, but looks like he's going to Werder Bremen.
  6. Botafogo (been scratching my head kept think Bafana Bafana but thats SA), and Cruzio
  7. He might have an extended break as he was on tour with Australia.
  8. Looking at the price strikers are going for, we'd still profit off him after a season. £4-6 mil I'd guess, double that if he does well.
  9. Find it weird that they can make it a late game when they usually force it to be an early kick off.
  10. Good of them, they do seem very excepting of their fate. I'd expect that for the 1st year, but I can see the casual goers to dwindle throughout the season and the STH numbers falling after a year, then shooting back up once they're in the top division. If they don't get back to back promotions (possible as have lost most of their starters)... worst case scenario the league will have imploded by the time they make there way back up. Hard to see Ranger or Scottish football coming back from this.
  11. He was mistaken on Baxter, he mis-read a tweet. The next day they realised their mistake as Baxter was at training.
  12. I havent had a look at that thread, but it's probably them and not you. My head was banging after reading some threads on there. The stuff they come out with from no where is ridiculous, must be inside jokes.. that aren't funny and make no sense >.< Edit: I went on it now, and had nothing to punch near by so now have some pent up anger from reading lid. Seriously it was annoying when I was in school 10 years ago. Really wish you could wring a person's neck through a computer Control+ALT+Strangle would be the best command ever.
  13. He only played 10ish games on the right, but had the most joy from there. From reading forums it seems they had doubts about him as he was hit and miss and picking up injuries, but come into his own on the right. I have a feeling Moyes will go with Gibson, Rodwell with Felli further forward. I'm hoping Osman gets a chance in the middle.
  14. It could galvanize them like you say, but I can't see them sticking it out. TBH I'm surprised they have kept so many fans interested in a 2 team league, but to drop down to the third will be like playing pub teams every week. They may even have to dip into the pub teams for a few players to field a team themselves.
  15. With a new name, lower division football, and a diminishing amount of players. They're going to struggle to keep all the fans onside and attending the games.
  16. Seems a very stupid move by the clubs financially wise. Only hope they have is if the league opens up and attracts more fans to the other clubs. There's going to be a lot of Rangers fans looking for a new club to follow which may help. Still it's a very risky plan.
  17. SkySports Robin van Persie has announced he will not be extending his contract at Arsenal, with a statement on his official website reading: "I’ve thought long and hard about it, but I have decided not to extend my contract. You guys, the fans, have of course the right to disagree with my view and decision and I will always respect your opinions." Here's more from Van Persie: "Out of my huge respect for Mr. Wenger, the players and the fans I don’t want to go into any details, but unfortunately in this meeting it has again become clear to me that we in many aspects disagree on the way Arsenal FC should move forward." And more from Van Persie: "I am very proud of being part of this fantastic club for the last eight years. As soon as Mr Gazidis is back from his two-week holiday in America further meetings will follow and I will update you if and when there are more developments." Arsenal are going to be fecked. RVP gained them 27 points last season. Hopefully make 4th spot more competitive
  18. Hopefully his wages won't be too high. Wonder wether Rangers paid them when he was on loan? As it would give a good indication wether we can afford him. On a side note, we could potentially pick up a good portion of Rangers fans this summer. Or would it lack tact to promote Everton whilst they're mourning the dimise of their club (imo most advertising is immoral) billboards with Jelavic and Naismith in a Everton kit mocked up to look similar to a Ranger's strip.
  19. Football Manager all the way. I don't know anyone who plays Champ man unless it's the older editions.
  20. Ex-Bayern Munich defender Breno has been found guilty of arsoning his villa and will serve 3 years 9 months jail time. http://pic.twitter.com/dZOiQzXB
  21. We could have got him for free today, BU have cost te club £5 million
  22. I've been thinking that. Don't most of the Scottish teams rely on the Rangers and Celtic games to stay afloat themselves?
  23. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/12691/7865944/Weiss-reveals-interest Weiss, one club in England looking at him, hope it's us .
  24. New Premier League ball http://pic.twitter.com/MRWM4lC6 not one for the traditionalist. I miss Mitre!
