pete0 got a reaction from Steve_E in FA Cup v Gunners
Fuck me that defending was woeful, we created the gap for him to pass through. Absolutely dreadful.

I like Joel as a keeper, not so keen with the ball at his feet mind you! Saying that Howard has been kicking crap lately as well.

Would anyone be more inclined to go with Alcaraz if fit and Stones at the back rather than Distin?

Sounds like Jags is a big doubt according to the press conference, something like "if the game was tomorrow he wouldnt be ready". If thats the case, hes not ready for Saturday in my opinion

Pulis set to fine 2 of his players for diving. One was booked but the Chamakh had got away with it. Not a fan of his footballing style, but a decent honest bloke and this is a good step in the right direction - that diving might actually be stamped out at one club at least pretty soon

It wouldve been Gerry for me but thought he faded in the 2nd half before being subbed. He was easily MOTM for the 1st half only.

Hoping Stones keeps his place ahead of Jags. Very comfortable on the ball, suits RM's style of play better.

Gerry for me. He got the ball in the box time and time again. Sometimes he lost it but tracked back quite well. Intercepted Nolan, otherwise it would have been one on one.
Even when he did lose the ball he didn't let his head drop and he gave the defenders trouble time and time again.

It seems to me that a player who is a better player than Tim Cahill is just not going to get a fair ride with some fans - so much to the point that an article demonstrating his tremendous mentality and work ethic is just dismissed as some sotiish plaper, scottish journo, scottish player.... tut tut.
You actually think that for us to progress he needs to be phased out? No I disagree... the squad needs players like him as reminder of what "work" is all about. How to apply themselves to get the best out of themselves.
I dunno, maybe he needs to punch a few corner flags like Cahill or throw his arms in the air to the crowd like Gravesen.
Some players are just never going to get a fair viewing due to blinkered and unappreciative fans.

Ok Haf.
I consider msyelf told off!
Sorry PeteO, frustration getting the better of me.
In my Opinion Pineaar played well against WH. He had three shots i think, two awful and one that hit the post. He also had another that was blocked. He was also involved heavily in the goal we scored and his dummy that set Lukaku on his way down the wing was also clever. I can see he slows the game down but i think this is more to do with him losing pace. His ball retention is still top class and we have to remember that RM is trying to instill this into our players more.
I can totally understand the frustration with him going down everytime he feels breath on his neck. That drives me crazy and makes me feel embarassed for sticking up for him at times.
Overall i thought he had a decent game against WH. Thought maybe Baines shaded it though.

It was.
Right result for us if you think playing in the Europa is a good thing, wrong if you don't. I'm pleased (that sixth is a Europe place, not that City won the cup).

Im hoping Kenedy will step up next year, he looks a real prospect and cant be far off the first team squad now

Bollocks (I know it's the man himself who said it Pete and not you).

Were you at the game Shukes? Because I assure you time and time again he had free men to pass to in good areas and he stopped, waited, waited, and then the pass wasn't on any more and we ended up having to go backwards. It was infuriating.
But, like I said, towards the end of the game he was brilliant. I don't know why there was a change but it was evident to me at least, and I hope that's the Pienaar that plays against Arsenal - dynamic and not pedestrian.

My point is Mirallas not Pienaar should be on the left. Deulofeu has been our best player this game.

Cant believe Pienaar hasnt looked up there, Lukaku and someone else in acres of space inside the 18 yard box.

Pienaar is getting in the way of build ups rather then being involved. His decision making today is pathetic..... Did dunc come on to get a reception?
